Topsmamen: Yeah. Thanks guys for the assistance. 2282 kinda fits into my early day running the biz (2008 - 2012). More recently (2013 - date) 0651 or 0621 or 1211 fits somehow into my current status. I am still undecided yet. I don't know if it is right using two NOC codes on a self employment. |

Topsmamen: Thank you very much for checking in @Topsmamen. I got the following reply: Good day, Thank you for your interest in the National Occupational Classification (NOC). About the NOC The NOC is designed to classify occupational information in the Canadian labour market in a standardized framework and a manageable, understandable and coherent system. The basic principle of classification of the NOC is that of ‘kind of work performed’. Occupations are identified and grouped primarily in terms of the work usually performed, this being determined by the tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the occupation. A job, in turn, encompasses all the tasks carried out by a particular worker to complete their duties. In a nutshell, the NOC is a tool that is used to classify occupations according to their Skill Level and Skill Type. A four-digit code, called the "NOC code", identifies the occupation. Each digit of this code reflects an important characteristic of the occupation it represents. · Please note that the National Occupational Classification (NOC) takes into consideration four components when establishing the NOC code for an occupation: o the exact job title; o a detailed description of the main duties; o the education and work experience required by the employer for entry into the occupation; and o the type of establishment in which the work is performed. We recommend that you consult the following NOC tutorial to learn more about how occupations are classified: http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/NOC/Tutorial.aspx?ver=16. How to search the NOC A useful search tool can be found on the NOC Web site (http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/welcome.aspx?ver=16) by using your occupational title or keywords related to your occupation in the Quick Search box located at the top or using a complex search in the Search the NOC box located at the top left side of the menu bar. This will generate a list of possible occupations. · If your initial search does not yield a matching occupational profile, please try broadening or narrowing down your search by using different related keywords. How to select a NOC code In order to confirm and validate how closely a NOC code matches a given occupation, you must refer to the NOC profiles in question and review the main duties and employment requirements to assess which one most accurately represents the occupation in question. Other information within the NOC profile should also be assessed such as example titles, additional information, and classified elsewhere sections. While the NOC is primarily used to communicate information about occupations, its structure and content are used by a number of major services and products throughout the private and public sectors. NOC code selection and confirmation relating to publicly- and privately-run programs, like Canada’s immigration system and Temporary Foreign Worker Program, rests with respective government departments and other related governing bodies. Please note that the NOC unit’s role is only to provide guidance in your NOC search and it is not within our mandate to determine and/or confirm NOC code selections. We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for contacting the NOC unit and have a nice day. The NOC Unit Employment and Social Development Canada Gatineau, QC, Canada 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Topsmamen: Thank you for this. I have sent an email to both address. Hoping to hear from them soon. Please anyone else that can help with this should do so. Let me know if to appeal or not, as I'm yet to see a best fit NOC better than 0213. 2 Likes |

Hi there, So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager. This is what I should have done two years back, but I honestly thought I was on the right course. I am sharing so that it serves as a lesson to others getting into the process. Seek all the advice and counsel you can especially wherever you have doubts, even if it make you look or sound like a slowpoke. In 2017, I spent more than a month confused about the actual NOC code for me. A first search on google for NOC code for cybercafe manager will pop out 0631 -Restaurant and Food service Managers. This is totally not what we are as cybercafe operators in general. so I spent quite a reasonable amount of time on the net and settled for NOC 0213 which had Computer and other related service manager as a sub in the title group. This seems more appropriate to me for my job title. With description help from wonderful friends, the following are a basic summary of what I do: Own and run a cybercafe offer general computer services such as printing, scanning, typesetting some software installation sales of computers and its accessories etc give basic computer lessons to customers/clients have 2 employees also offer computer related services to clients as per contracts to set up their cafe, computer units/rooms and logistics. Over the years as owner and manager of the cybercafé the following are specific responsibilities and duties performed: • Develop action plans and procedures for my team performance to meet operational goals and organizational objectives. • Develop strategic and operational plans for managing, execution and measuring results of the cyber centre. • Perform research on new business ventures and proactively identifies risks and opportunities for improvement of the business. • Determine the budget and periodic expenditures of the business centre. • Occasionally conduct meetings with clients to discuss system specs, performance, needs, costs and timelines. • Execute contract jobs that involve procurement and supply of stationeries, computers and its peripherals • Manage project teams of variable skill sets and size dependant on project scope. • Hire, train and guide store employees in delivering excellent customer service. • Assign rules and responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness. • Monitor and manage store staff/personnel by regularly communicating and conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve operational performance. • Ensure that the office and environment is maintained according to proper sanitation and cleaning standards thereby making it safe and inviting for customers. • Assist customers when they have trouble or questions using computer systems and application software • Perform software installations, system maintenance, backups and networking, troubleshooting on office and clients computers. • Provide services such as printing, scanning, internet, online registrations, downloading and other computer related operations. • Ensure that machineries, computers and other equipments are in good working condition. • Keep accurate records of system performance, logs and inventories of the business centre • Set Administrative rights on computer systems, program tickets and number of minutes or hours customers use the computer or internet on networked computers. • Banking and maintaining accounting databases by entering data using computer application software • Preparing lesson notes for students, training and teaching student/clients on the use of computers and its applications. • Ensure excellent customer care. Went to interview in Accra and was told that I choose the wrong NOC. So I want you guys to help me find the right NOC for someone that own and operate a cybercafe. Its quite heavy on me, I must confess, but I am taking it in like a man. Just incase I can reapply please someone should help me with the right NOC for a Cybercafe Manager/Owner. 5, 6, 7 or more heads are better than 1 or 2. This is not the testimony I was hoping to drop after a year and 6 months wait, but a lesson for one is a lesson for many. Never too late to do the right thing. special thanks to Zutlin, Abubuyaya. You guys give me the courage to do this. 64 Likes |

Please an experienced person should help me on this o. I applied for Tbill at bank rate for 182 day at Zenith on 14th and my money was debited on 15th which is two days ago, but up till now no upfront interest have been credited in my account. How much more time will it take before I get it. Beside no notification on the debit of my investment. I only saw that the cash have been taken when I checked my balance on 15th. This is my first time. Should I be alarmed? Update: Received the upfront interest on today morning 18th. |

Initially, I was very pessimistic about what to expect from the journey, but the cash benefit was too good to ignore. I had to grab the offer when it was presented by my boss. Then I had already aced my IELTS on first setting maxing out CLB 10 on all modules. I was ecstatic. But the scores for that year (2016) was between 460 and above. I was having less. I jettisoned the idea to immigrate to Canada and concentrated fully on the task ahead... Trip to Afghanistan. The fear of Al-qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram etc were constantly resounding in my head. But I was determined and ready to face the challenge head on. I understand that individual cases are different, but VO's are human after all. They can understand and see through a honest applicant. I saw a reply by IRCC that work experience obtained while schooling cannot be used for CRS points. Taking this simple answer in its entirety might misinform someone (my believe). This seems simple but a twist can be in it. Like someone here was asking if his work experience of 7 years as a lecturer won't count because he got his PhD last year. Well, my take and little understanding is you can claim CRS point for 7 years working experience without CRS point for PhD qualification OR CRS point for PhD qualification without the 7 (or 6 years) working experience. Not both (CRS point for 7 years work experience and PhD qualification since they both were co-occurring). There are cases were someone might be working and schooling (schooling is relative as they are full time/part time/ODL/Research based etc). I don't think it is wrong to be a worker and trying to obtain additional qualifications. Claiming point for work experience while still schooling is a little bit tricky. I just hope we get this straight so that people trying to increase their CRS point will be well guided in their quest to get two or more degree or Masters degree for ECA, while putting into cognizance timeline for their working experience. xtosync: In my research on misrepresentation, I came to understanding that the 'thing' get 3 types (I no tell you. google it...lol ). But it is funny that innocently leaving out an information can also be a misrepresentation (Although this depends on the VO assessing your file and LUCK). But it is better to be on the side of caution than to err. I came across the terms "unwillful omission" and "subjective unawareness". These can come in handy when explaining why you earlier left out information post AOR. Cc: @Feezeel and @Bosstos - in case you decide to raise a CSE like I did. I believe this is a good read for information sake and to calm some fraying nerves (I hope ). As I have said in other answers, I am a retired visa officer (Canadian overseas immigration officer). I worked for CIC and its predecessors for many years. Concerning “slow”, are you speaking of applications for visitor visas or applications to immigrate to Canada? Processing procedures and processing times are very different depending on what sort of visa you are applying for. Visa applicants so often seem to imagine that CIC and its programming must be the most important activity conducted by the Government of Canada. It’s not even close. Historically immigration and visas have been much lower priorities than other Government of Canada activity, such as Employment Insurance, National Defence, international trade relations, income tax collection, implementing bilingualism legislation, regulating and ensuring the safety of the transportation industry, the pharmaceutical industry etc. After all, immigration applicants don’t vote. . . . . . . There is something else that frankly I find a little disturbing in some of the questions I see that relate to immigration to Canada. Many of those comments come from the developing world. Many of those who ask questions about visas do not seem aware that Canada is essentially land stolen by colonizing European countries. They invaded North America and attacked and brutalized and in some cases attempted to exterminate the indigenous peoples, all of them people of colour. Some of those countries were the same ones that attacked most of what is now the developing world and subjugated, exploited and humiliated the peoples who were there. Please remember that Canada was established on a terrible historic justice. There is nothing that immigrants can do about it other than be aware and be understanding and supportive of Canadian aboriginal people who are trying to recover what is left of their heritage and their resources. If you do not you are essentially accepting the rationalizations of European colonizers who asserted it was their destiny to rule the developing world. Martin Culled from here 3 Likes 1 Share |
