I thought content of a person's will should not be known to public? How did the reporter/ informant know how much was in d account? If its true that he left 4million and he took other peoples life, the fedral government should seize that money and confiscate it, then use it to pay the family of the other victims Its just annoying that someone would be proud to be a suicide bomber and expects his family not to pay for it, |

Rhino.5dm:I'm trying so hard to get the st.U.pi.d point you are trying to make? U are neither here nor there U just insult people without making valid points. If you don have anyrthing meaningful to say, is it compulsory that U shld comment? Its either you are slow to learn or you don't understand simple english, either ways, seems U lack the basic skills to understand a simple argument.I thought U had common sense and could reason like an adult, but I just realised that you are a f.oolish Id.iot. Another lost generation SMH. There was no where in my post where I supported GEJ, my point is its the system that needs to change even if U bring in a barack obama into this system, it won't change a thing. The change needs to start from the individual to the churches, then we can talk about changing the govt. |
Dis Guy:I agree with your point of view, but we all know the president won't cancel it, not for anything, but why does it have to come to this? Why can't we have truthful set of people ind govt for once? We lost some youth corpers to the post election violence, and all the family got was a paltry sum of 5million naira, and we are spending this much on jonathan handing over to himself? God help us |
Rhino.5dm:I beg to disagree with your choice of words, the fact that U don't see things from someone's point of view doesn't mean U shld start name calling, it won't butress your point, it will only show to the whole world how immature U are. I believe you should act your age and argue your point like an adult and stop the beer parlour attitude for the sake of civilization. I have given my reasons for understanding the quote for this event, in the document it was clearly stated that 2.5million is allocated for honorarium for the officiating ministers, yet you don't want to blame the church. What happens to the sound systems after the event? Yet you are not blaming the church. Its like robbing a dead man of his belongings and still claiming innocence because the dead man didn't stop you from taking his things. The govt asks d church for quotation for sound or asks for a consultant to give them a bill, the govt will not tell you not to give them a bill of 25million for sound system, what d govt will do is add an extra 20million or more to your quote. This is the point I'm trying to make. The whole system is corrupt. Or is it the president that will go to the market to buy fuel or buy projectors? Let's be realistic here. What we are looking at is a situation where some people exploit the country while instead of condemning these people, we blame everything on d president, afterall he is d easiest person to blame. The whole system is corrupt, from the church to the minster to the govt officials, to the officiating pastors asking for 2.5 million as honorarium (why not do it for free if they are working for God?) Let's face it, I'm not defending GEJ for using our hard earned money recklessly, I am rather blaming the system which allows for stuffs like this to happen. Are bills like this debated on by any agency or maybe a public forum? Where are the funds coming from? And what part of the budget is it included in? These are questions that needs to be answered. |
kcjazz:My people, although I don't support GEJ or anything PDP, and as much as I hate to say this, the list is still reasonable compared to what obtains everywhere. The 1.5million for gen is obviously the church taking advantage of the event to fund their monthly overhead. We all know that people always take advantage of the govt. At the slightest opportunity, we all feel its d national cake, why would a whole church wait till when there is handing over before taking the opportunity to buy their own sound equipment? I wouldn't be supprised because the catrhedral that hosted the wedding between prince william and kate also used the opportunity to fix some things in the church. A standard line array sound equipment for a church costs between 30 to 40million although it depends on how big the auditorium is ( trust me, I know guys that are into sound), I think the extra mark up is one minister somewhere / one govt official somewhere asking for their own share before approving the bill. Let me cite an example. My company recently did a project for a local govt. The actual cost of the project is 1.5million, but the project co-ordinator said he'll take 1million before he will award the contract, we were also told that d chairman would take 2million before approving it, so we were told to do another quotation. The project was finally done to the tune of 4.7million, which is more than twice the original cost. The problem with Nigeria is beyond what we, its the whole system. May God deliver us |
larrylyric:Moral values my foot. I used to have a bowen friend who's lifestyle is worse than my other frineds from osu and lasu, she sneaks out of school, has many sugar daddies and the likes. Moral values are not gotten by telling adults to kneel down, what does that do to their self worth and self esteem, when their juniours see them kneeling down? What happened to punishment by telling them to do community service? Well I guess part of the values U are talking about includes telling people that might be older than you to shut the hell up, just because they don't agree with your point of view. Moral value indeed |
This arrangement would have d desired effect if and only if Buhari agrees to run on the platform of ACN, cos I majourity of the voters in SW are voting based on the party but not based on the name. Any other arrangement would fail, cos nobody in the SW would vote for a northerner ahead of a southerner GEJ. But either ways, I would love to see Buhari win the election God bless Nigeria |
Let's solve corruption first, then we can face whatever the next issue is Let's take it one step at a time God Bless Nigeria |
agabaI23:China is corrupt, but their corruption is not harming their economic growth, to me that is petty corruption. Not a situation where a local government chairman will refuse to construct a road in the LG all because of his in-law's burial ceremony. You can not compare Nigeria's level of corruption to China's |
Adamuhassa:JAPAN GHANA SINGAPORE CHINA Many of the alleged benefits from corruption, such as streamlining government transactions or enhancing civil service pay, only appear as such against the background of a public sector that is failing to perform effectively. The experience of economies such as Singapore indicates that patient and persistent efforts toward improved public sector management, by streamlining customs procedures or by paying wages that are competitive with the private sector, for example, are likely to result in greater benefits over time than tolerating relatively high levels of corruption to compensate for these deficiencies. In light of the discussion above, we can affirm that corrupt and illicit behavior is a serious brake upon the development process. We should reject the argument that corruption's beneficial effects outweigh its negative consequences, or that it is inappropriate for international financial institutions to address such issues. Experience drawn from the Asia and Pacific region and elsewhere demonstrates that significant progress can be made in the struggle against corruption if the proper legal, institutional, and policy reforms are in place. so even if its only corruption that we can reduce in this country, it will go a long way in solving many of our problems. Imagine if the $30billion was used to revive nepa? It would have reduced the amount of money spent on the importation of Generating sets, MTN and others would reduce their call tariffs, Dunlop would relocate back to Nigeria, thereby creating more employment opportunities,, I can go on and on, but the bottom line is everything is like a chain-reaction, they are interwoven and corruption is our main problem in Nigeria God Bless Nigeria |

, I would always be there for you till the end.
