1) He is being paid by nairaland creators to keep the threading interesting by posting controversial comments and topics. Hereby keeping people intrested and login on to NL

2) That he is a bored and lonely geek who catches his fun by raising controversy and arguments on online platforms

3) This I would live tor you nairalanders to fill in the blanks--------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way sorry to all for going off topic

in filling the blanks, i want everyone to deduce this analogy

look around you, at work, at home, in your schools, what kind of individual will have more than 21000 posts on a public forum, with an average of 22.197 per day, with each of these posts at least 200 words?

either he's being paid to be online or he is jobless and a government apologist.

Security on point, transportation efficiently managed, but back home in Nigeria, the opposite is the case. I even get angry nowadays when I see the trains getting to the platform at their exact time, not a minute early or a minute late. Why cant we make things right in Nigeria? why?

Some people think its about the ethnicity or religious affiliation? No its not, its the non accountability of the political class to the populace. It the level of corruption in the country and some political jobbers shouting on the roof tops, supporting their paymasters, venting fire and brimstones if the people dare to demand for accountability. The irony of it is the fact that even if Nigeria splits, the ruling class in the new regions, will still continue to oppress their subjects. Ask the Bayelsa guys about their chiefs and elders,  who are supposed to fight for their rights, ask them.

I had hopes that the mass protests and strike would make Nigeria a better place. labour can never loose relevance, they remain the only group recognized to negotiate for registered employees in Nigeria. they are protected by ILO, calling off strike is not a cowardice approach, How many people can even face their managers to demand any right, not to talk of facing the President of a country.
The aim of the strike was not to bring the govt down, and I can say this strike achieved a lot. We will see in 6 months time. At least we now have some promises to take govt on if promises are not met.

It is a failure and the Minister for finance is frantically looking for an opportunity to speak on TV, the same goes for minister of petroleum. There is nothing as devastating as bad publicity, if its for the sensitisation of the people, its worth it, because one thing i want you to know is that, Nigerians will forgive, but they will never forget.

The government is slowly but surely opting out of running the oil business and its corrupting financial largesse. That is why you people opposing its moves are effectively in a war against yourselves.
For some weird reason, this is the only time i will agree with @beaf, he got this analysis right. The problem is most government managed projects have over the years been mismanaged or sabotaged, because of different selfish interest of individual ahead of the country's interest at heart. Everybody is busy stealing as if they will die if they are truthful, biased arrangement because of ranka-de-de, zoning and quota system instead of the most qualified man for the job, its my tribe religion et al. The way forward is doing the job and doing it well, but Nigerians have learnt not to trust the current crop of politician, people that failed to improve on the electricity generating capacity of Nigeria, they fail to understand that trust is earned, hence the populace will not trust them with the savings they are proposing, because they will squander it as usual. The future looks brighter for nigeria, because people are beginning to wake up and demand accountability on the part of the government. GEJ can talk about subsidy if and only if

1. The Government cuts its overhead running costs, by reducing spending on legislators and cabinet members
2. Tackle the problem of corruption head on like the era of Ribadu
3. Pass the PIB
4. Revive the economy with good policies that encourages development
5. Take the issue of security very seriously
6. Reduce the veto power of the FG, but rather promote the true meaning of federalism, (where a state can remove its subsidy or implement it if it so wishes)

but in the meantime, return the subsidy and let us plan, and set realistic milestones and measurable constants on the proposal of how to reduce the cost of subsidy. Then we the people wil agree. Without this, no discussion.

Once again, nice one beaf.

Tell me why you need a N65.00 handout as an able bodied individual.
I want to know what you think about your state being your primary focus for development, instead of the FG. State governors and LG chairmen are not mere decoration; they are there to provide jobs, industries and services, The states and the LG's should be funding the FG instead, but Nigerians don't think right anymore and thats why we are here clamouring with blood drenched eyes for the return of a structural anomaly.

GEJ is taking the country on a none return trip to true federalism by slowly decreasing the FG's powers and putting more in the hands of the private sector. Even NNPC as we know it is going. The boat is on a one way trip toward true federalism.
Firstly, for the FG to be taken serious, it should tackle its excessive spending, the cost of governance in Nigeria is extremely high. Let GEJ tackle the senate and house of reps in terms of the amount of money they are being paid, then he can wholeheartedly move on to the populace and make some adjustments. In a sane environment, where is it heard of that a president's wife owns a charity organisation which is being funded by the Government? Where is it heard of that a single entity like Dangote and the likes would be given as much power as they possess presently? monopoly is greatly discouraged by these govts, the citizens are being defended.  These are the duties of government, which in simple terms means welfare of the country's citizens. Subsidy is the closest way nigerians get a direct access to enjoying welfare from the FG, is it roads? electricity? water? healthcare? I can go on with the rhetorical questions that begs for answers, but that would not change anything. Besides, tell me a single institution in the country that functions effectively? everything is failing and the only solution that you think of is for the govt to remove fuel subsidy? and not a long term plan of lets say 15% per quarter spread over a period of years, until the whole fuel subsidy is eventually gone, and such ventures should be made public and proceeds from the removed subsidy re-invested into improving the system, that is building refineries, building good transportation networks, thereby removing the extra cost of moving the products from refineries to depots. The spiralling effect of total removal would be catastrophic and the domino effect would be felt in every household, wither directly or indirectly.
[li]Do you know the meaning of true federalism?[/li]
[li]If your state governor or LG chairman was doing his job and your locality was churning out jobs and industries, would you be concerned about a N65.00 handout from Abuja?[/li]
[li]If you think Nigeria is phucked, because we cannot manufacture a single pin and states must beg for monthly upkeep from Abuja, why would you think you as an individual needs the same sort of welfare package when you are not disabled?[/li]
Nigeria can not manufacture anything because of inconsistent policies by the Government. Every decision made so far is for the benefit of some selfish individuals, from privatisations to contracts. The way forward like i said earlier is for GEJ to tackle the senators and house of reps members with the single aim of cutting their overheads, which would show some level of seriousness. You can't remove subsidy and some selected few would be paid millions for doing nothing, tell me how many bills has been passed into law?

Can you tell me if anyone on the wrong side of the above questions is on the right side of reality? Nigerians need to learn to think in the right way, too many years of phucked up anti-people govts have made us not to understand how a country should be run. Thank you.
The only right way to think my friend is for the people to hold the FG responsible for its attitude of shying away from responsibilities. NITEL is failing privatise, Road maintenance not working, we privatise, fuel subsidy too high, remove the subsidy. Are we meant to pay for the incompetence of the govt? Or someone has forgotten that Nigeria is an oil producing nation? In the UK that you compare to Nigeria, there are council flats for "able bodied" persons, which comes at a cheaper rate or in some cases free. There is education Loan that are only repaid after the student finishes and gets a job, there is free healthcare, the transport networks actually works and people dont need to drive down to work most of the time.

Hi nairaland users, i really want u to air your candid opinion on this situation. I met a girl ,about 2 years ago ,at work (we r both in sch. Now) . We became very close so much that we can't do without each other in a day. Then, she was in love with a guy who loves her little. Due to our closeness, i fell in love with her. Consequently, i made my feelings known to her to which she felt disappointed. On one occasion, during one of our outings, i attemted Being Intimate with her but refused saying we can only smooch & kiss, that she is in love with d guy. That i should wait until she done with him.  Now im an underduate in a univ.  while she is doing her pre-degree program in another univ. About 2 month ago during my session break, she visited me at home , and we had a long talk that first did not revolve around  relationship. Suddenlly, she started puffing up telling me she had a boyfriend in school dat studies medicine & she is this she is dat bla bla bla,  That perhaps get married next year.  Though i did not date anyone in sch, i lied that i had a girl i was in love with who's in U.S.A. She inquired if she called frequently i said yes. To cut it short, while i was seeing her off she told me on a serious note dat i wi'll never see her again. I replied dat since i do not wish  anything bad happen to her, i would still want to see her again in future. Since dat day, though i'v not called, text or flashed her, she has been flashing me. Is she  in love with me? Doesn't she wish me good in life? Does she have a grudge against me? Though i still luv her i'v sworn never to av anything to do with her again. All contributions r welcomed.

jonath0012:
This perhaps is a topic close to the hearts of many nigerian guys who have female friend who they know platonically.     So what does it really needed tn take a relationship from platonic to intimate? Read on!         The key here is to SHIFT THE FRAME. But first, there is some caveat to this strategy. You must be REAL friends with them. In other words, not some chick you knew last week who you befriended just b/cos you score with them.                  See, you must be in a position yourself in a way that it's a NO LOSE DEAL for them. When they consider if they want to sleep with you, they think of one important thing- if they are going to lose you as a friend once thing get complicated- for example you demand to be their boyfriend and they have got their doubts.             Listen, be the one to OFFER her what she wants, and not in the position of DEMANDING her to fulfil your needs. This defference is important.                  You'll be come across as a loyal friend who also provides both sex and comfort. Be careful not to present yourself as "Mr Right" at first, and be sure to make it clear that you are also looking for "Mrs Right" elsewhere. Don't make her feel that you are CHASING her.             So, by adopting this frame you'll come across as a NON-THREATHING friend who offer the comfort of a partner who would neither needy or are going to disappear after the fling.                     So, the belief that if you are in the dreaded friend's zone, it would be hard to get out is unfounded if ONLY you play your card well.  Good luck!

Am  a Nigerian  like u guy working in private sector. Have not benefit from any government  either the present or the past one, so am not supporting one, but i want to make the following clear.

- The three refineries are all working at their optimal capacity. I have been to these refineries at least 3 to 4 time in the last 2 months, so the problem is not fixing the refineries, but their out put can not meet with Nigerians consumption rate, that why we are importing. Also remember that we are not a capitalist economy but rather a mixed economy, but the government want to move into a socialist economy, by so doing the private sector will be the major controller of our economy where price will be determine by the force of demand and supply. so it will be the responsibility of the private sector to build the refineries as is done in most socialist economy in the world.

- Secondly i want state here that i support the removal of the subsidy, we should be able to embrace change, every great economy in world pay one price or the other, for instance like China. Just imagine for every liter of fuel we are buying the government is paying  almost 80 naira to the importers, who will not even want our refineries to work so that they can continue to enslave both the government and the masses. So this is what is going to happen at the initial stage, like the coming of gsm, a Sim card was almost sold at 30k while Nokia 3010 was 40k+, but Sim card are almost free, with 27k you can buy the lowest grade of BB, why is this so, because the force of demand and supply are in place. With the subsidy gone the fuel will be sold at 150 naira per liter at the initial stage but with time we will be buying fuel at 18 to 20 naira per liter, the private sector will be force to build refineries to reduce the cost of importation instead hiding under the umbrella of subsidy to make their huge profit . they will be room for competition and the three refineries will be privatise like the case of NI TEL.
are you okay at all?

embrace change my foot. Like anything works in this country? undecided dont let me vent my anger on you on this forum. Nigerians are frustrated daily, no water, no road, no light , no security, no rule of law, no healthcare, teachers are always going on strike, our currency is becoming useless every month, infrastructures are not being maintained, no accountability by government officials, the list is endless. Even football thats the only consolation for us, is nothing to write home about, our citizen are living like second class citizens in other countries, you want to count the number of nigerians that are cleaners in London alone? tell me anything that works right in this country? just one single thing and you are here spewing rubbish.

Name any new refinery that was built by the government in recent years. Name any massive construction that was done in any other part of the country apart from abuja? Name any viable textile factory recently created? Our educational institutions are collapsing, the same buildings built by Awolowo in the old western region are still the only good buildings at OAU, the federal government has not invested any notable amount of money into our higher institutions in the last 12 years, instead of creating jobs, bankers are being sacked thereby increasing the unemployment rate. Nigeria has one of the highest infant mortality rate, when was the last time the senate passed an important bill in the senate? all we hear is increasing their allowances and estacodes, or debating why super eagles are crashing out of Cup of nations, like it is a matter of national security, boko haram is detonating bomb at will in a country that has one of the best military personels in the world. Our women are being raped and nothing is done about it, local government chairmen are above the laws, they embezzle money like no mans business, in england, the defense minister resigned, because of an allegation that his friend goes with him on official assignment without being a government official, despite the fact that the guy pays his own expenses, he still resigned out of dignity, back home in Nigeria, our politicians have become shameless, they travel with uncles, auntie, godfather, their mai-guard, they even make arrangements for girlfriends and ashies.

the only thing that remains that nigerians are enjoying from the government, you are saying that they should remove it.

i am getting more angry as I am typing this post
