he he, I wonder if they have a system in place to take care of this ASAP. Not good from a PR perspective |
Perhaps it's an ad for pest exterminators? Perhaps you can refresh your page and it randomly generates another ad, if indeed it is an ad? |
he he: 1) I like that the music player follows you wherever you go (I clicked one genre, went to another page of another genre, and the old genre was still playing 2) I think the design could better reflect the "sowl" meaning of the site Did you have the above in mind? ![]() |

Will the site be updated often? If so, use a CMS (like Joomla or Drupal). If not and/or you will be paid to do the updating, code from scratch. Good luck! |
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/aug/14/steve-jobs-home-robbed More than $60,000 in computers and other property was stolen, police said, but thief didn't know house belonged to the late Apple co-founder A thief broke into Steve Jobs' house in the high-tech hub of Palo Alto, stealing more than $60,000 in computers and jewelry without realizing he had hit the late Apple co-founder's property, authorities said on Tuesday. Kariem McFarlin, 35, was charged with burglary and selling stolen property after the break-in on July 17, when the house was vacant during renovations, said Scott Tsui, a Santa Clara County prosecutor. The burglary came just over nine months after Jobs died in October at age 56 and his Silicon Valley home, about 30 miles south of San Francisco, briefly became a gathering place for fans who left flowers on the sidewalk out front. McFarlin, who faces a plea hearing on 20 August, did not appear to know the house belonged to Jobs, Tsui said. "We don't have any evidence to show his house was targeted," Tsui said. "All we know is that it was a random burglary that can happen to people." McFarlin was arrested on 2 August and held on $500,000 bail, according to Santa Clara County inmate records. There are no indications that the house, which is an English-country style home close to the sidewalk, has been sold since Jobs died last year. Because high-tech components were stolen, Tsui said his office's high-technology crimes unit was involved in investigating the case. Palo Alto police declined to comment. An attorney for McFarlin could not immediately be reached for comment, nor could a representative for Apple. |
2 ways of doing it: 1) Crude way: Get the name of the banner, create yours and give it the same name then upload it to your server, overwriting Joomla's 2) Preferred way: Go into the code and replace joomla's banner with yours then create your own banner and upload it to the server. Good luck! |
Google "jquery photo gallery" and you will get tons. good luck! |
Unless something's changed b/w the time the OP was made and b4 my post, I just looked at the site on my samsung galaxy tablet and my samsung exhibit smartphone and everything looks good to me. I haven't gone beyond the first page though. I assume everything's good beyond the first page as well. |

Ideally: Yes Reality: No Why: The nature of the web currently which, for the most part, encourages/requires user interaction at various levels. |
You might need to work in the code view and either write one urself using javascript or use a javascript library like javascript. Good luck! |

For youtube the following should work (not bolded portion): http://www.youtube.com/embed/DyqRYA3lXXI?loop=1Good luck! |
You can also do what a coworker of mine says he has done: Write some code such that any scraper ends up sending back to the source, a worm, or virus or whatever to damage the source's computer/server ![]() |
This is very impressive! http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/domestic-flights-passengers-purchase-n67bn-online-tickets-annually/ Internet savvy air travellers in Nigeria spend an estimated N67bn on online purchase of domestic air tickets annually, a report has said. The Internet, according to the report, is fast becoming the most preferred booking channel among air passengers. Ciuci Consulting, an indigenous management consulting firm, which authored the report, described air travellers in Nigeria as among those with frequent access to the Internet. According to Ciuci, there are 43 million Internet users in Nigeria consisting students, entry – level employees, experienced non-managers, experienced managers, executives and senior executives. The report, which attempted to find those who could fly among them, said, “If 50 per cent of the population of the country falls between the ages of 18 and 45 years, we could apply that ration on the number of Internet users. Therefore, it is estimated that at least 50 per cent of Internet users—21 million people fall between the ages of 18 and 45 years.” The report argued that those people also make up the bulk of the economic active age group who could afford to fly. It added that the economically active paid for the non-economically active such as students. The report, which submitted that the average ticket price for a regular local air trip in Nigeria was N16,000, said that out of the 21 million potential passengers, 20 per cent earned more than N800,000 per annum and travelled once a year on the average, resulting in a total of 4.2 million Internet savvy passengers. “Therefore, the total annual market size for online air passengers is estimated at 4.2 million people multiplied by N16, 000, which equals N67.2bn,”the report said. The Founder and Managing Partner, Ciusi Consulting, Mr. Chukwuka Monye, highlighted advancement in Internet access influenced by the landing of Main One and Glo 1 submarine fibre cables as well as the country’s growing number of Internet/ mobile users as major driving forces behind this development. Monye said online ticket purchase in Nigeria had since skyrocketed, as airline operators were taking advantage of the situation by providing functional websites where passengers could make enquiries concerning flight schedules, make bookings and also pay for their tickets in most cases. According to the report, 81 per cent of domestic online purchases are done online, nine per cent through travel agency, while airline desk and mobile phone account for five per cent each. He said, “From the results, the most preferred booking channel as reflected by 81 per cent of the respondents is the Internet. This is obvious because it is the most convenient option available to passengers, as all they require is a computer and Internet access to make the booking.” Of the 130 respondents surveyed online, the report revealed that 72 per cent of local passengers resided in Lagos, 17 per cent in Abuja and the remaining 11 per cent in other states. Ninety five per cent of the domestic airline passengers, it said, belonged to the economy class while the remaining five per cent were in the business class. Though local airlines had functional websites that enabled users transact easily, the report said they all fell short in varieties of areas when compared with websites of foreign operators. I haven't been to either of those countries but I will dare venture the following reasons for why we are lagging: 1) Lack of light (a must for what we do) and water and other basic inftrastructure 2) Uncertain environment (politically) 3) Lack of work ethic, generally speaking - the average nigerian is out to get you for what you have, as opposed to thinking of tomorrow 4) Not wanting to take risk - generally speaking, we wait for others to venture and if they succeed, we clone 5) Crude oil and politics |
Google can NEVER be down, with respect to this post. Google most likely does what other enterprise corporations do - host their sites on my servers in different locations. It is possible that at your particular time, the "colo" that you are hitting isn't online and you aren't being rerouted to another. If the above isn't the case, I do recall that last year when I downloaded a virus unknowingly, all search engines, except yahoo were blocked. I don't recall if youtube was blocked though the few times that I did get google, search results were all being rerouted to ad sites...unless I did a "copy link location" and pasted the link from there in my address bar. Good luck! |
I have noticed that whenever I register sites I do with my google webmasters account (as in, verify the site on there and submit a sitemap for the particular site) and add the google analytics code to the header portion of my site, such sites get indexed much quicker than those I do nothing for. I have seen sites get indexed anywhere b/w 3 and 7 days using the aforementioned methods. Good luck! |
darkhand: From google itself, they say 4 - 6 weeks. I personally have had my sites indexed in that 72 hour window, however, I have to stick to making official statements. Sorry. Of course, it is one thing to be indexed and another to be ranked high. |
It's not a matter of which is easier but which is more applicable to what you are trying to do. Personally, I would say that since PHP is open source and probably runs a majority of the sites out there, you should stick to PHP. Good luck! |
1) If you did your homework well, then you would have known that it takes up to 4-6 weeks to even get indexed by google for example. 2) Visit sites that are like yours and see what they are doing to rank on the first page. Everyone can't be #1 so aim at being b/w 1st and 5th 3) Since this is a blog, write on topics that people actually want to read and come back for more. Think of the blog sites you visit and mimic them Good luck! |

That's wonderful. I hope and pray it works out for you. |
The owner(s) of the website need to contact one of the many online payment companies to get an account. From there, you get the log in details and use that to create a button that you will display on their website. Many options abound, depending on your location. |
I am on but I don't see your request |
