This is so funny. Naira land will not stop to amuse and amaze me.

Maybe it's a medical condition, see your doctor. Maybe the room is not clean enough or the bed has bugs or some biting insects. Funmigate your house or simply change the mattress. That might help.
RomancePet Names And Phrases Guys Use On Girls And Girls Totally Detest by yimiton(op): 11:09am On Mar 24, 2010
Ladies,
There are some 'pet' names and phrases that some guys use on us that sounds outrightly degrading and even insulting without their know it. I presume they actually think they make us feel good by using these stupid expressions.

For me, I can't stand a male colleague addressing me as

1. My dear
2. Babes
3. Cutie
4. Sweetie
5. Fine girl and so on. Of the five I have mentioned above, the two that I totally detest most are: 'My Dear and 'Fine Girl'
I totally hate to be addressed that way.

Another annoying scenero is when I meet a guy and he says 'What is that your beautiful (pronounced as beauriful) name' Gosh! I can't stand that!.

RomanceRe: Share Ur Val Experience by yimiton(f): 4:02pm On Feb 15, 2010
Yesterday was the best Valentin's  day I've ever had.

I flew back to Lagos lying on my fiance's chest all the way from Port Harcourt. His friend with his wife was at the airport to pick us up. They dropped us off at his house where he picked his car and we headed straight for this really cosy hotel where we slept for about 3 hours.  wink

When we woke up, I gave him the card and the Polo Ralph T.shirt I bought for him and he gave me an exquisite silver sandals that I'd admired about a week ago.  smiley

We got dressed up with me wearing my brand new valentine sandals and this very sexy black dinner gown to kill while he wore his T.shirt and pants and we went out on a beautiful and romantic dinner.

There was a live band and he dedicated Righteous Brothers ('oh my love', made popular by the movie, ghost)  to me. At the time the song was finishing up,  I had tears in my eyes.   cry

We spent some time just watching people dance, talking silently, smiling at each other and loving each other like we'd never done.

We left there around 10.30pm and went back to our hotel room and slept in each others arms. It felt so good that even though I woke up early, I went back to sleep and went to work late!

It was my first and last Val's day as his fiancee and probably my last.
I enjoyed every moment of it and it shall be imprinted on my memory forever.
RomanceRe: Shld I Stay Or Let Her Go by yimiton(f): 2:52pm On Feb 10, 2010
Very funny. I'd almost forgotten how funny Nairaland could be.

You're dating a drunk who drinks only when you're not there, very funny indeed. I mean you have a girlfriend who leaves the house, goes a a bar and drink. Really, this is very funny.

RomanceRe: n by yimiton(f): 2:31pm On Feb 10, 2010
He is definitely a gold digger.
Any Nigerian man who doesn't encourage his girlfriend to speak with his family members and doesn't introduce her to his friends is simply not serious.
The probability that this guy is married is very high.
The fact that he gave you his email password also doesn't prove anything. It's possible that he has more than one functional Email accounts and he simply gave you the password to one that is not implicating. I'll say, you should totally stop sending him money otherwise, he or his friends will one day tell you to your face that you're trying to buy love.

People could be horrible these days, but one needs to be careful.

All the best.
RomanceRe: Secondary Vaginity : How Possible? by yimiton(f): 10:21am On Aug 13, 2009
There's a word like that but it doesn't mean you're a virgin all over again when you've already been disvirgined; you can't reclaim your hymen unless you undergo a surgery and even that doesn't make you a virgin. It simply means your hymen has been patched and you'll bleed when you have sex again.

It's simply a term used for someone (man or woman) who makes up her mind to abstain from sex until she gets married, when she has already had sex. According to  'The virgin Club' on http://www.geocities.com/thevirginclub/Secondary.htm

'Deciding to reclaim your virginity doesn't affect who you can marry, the status of your virginity, your susceptibility to disease, etc. By choosing to become a "born-again virgin" you are simply saying that you will save sex for marriage from this point on, and that you realize the value and importance of sex and see it as an act reserved for marriage.'

It's a nice thing but it's not like the original virginity.
RomanceRe: How Does Does A Woman Cope With Being The Man Financially? by yimiton(f): 2:04pm On Aug 10, 2009
@ Poster,

This post is sort or worrysome because you seem to be really into this guy yet, you're struggling with reality. This is the moment of truth, either you take on this guy and get prepared to have it very very rough financially until he can stand on his own, or you take that painful walk now and settle for someone else. Meanwhile, have it on your mind that since you say this guy is intelligent, he could get rich anytime and all the time you've waited for him and the monies you've spent on him just end up being a big waste. On the other hand, if you wait for him and even go ahead to marry him, what is the probability that he'll be able to make any money soon and take care of you. It may be a long long wait or a wait that may never come to an end.

It's your call girl, take it or leave it.

One last word of advice, if you know you'll marry him anyways, go ahead and marry him now. Marraige, I hear brings blessings.
All the best.

CelebritiesRe: This Low Life Admits He Lied On Michael Jackson by yimiton(f): 12:22pm On Jun 30, 2009
Can Someone imprison Jordan Chandler and his good for nothing, wicked, greedy and self centered totally silly father Evan Chandler for 150 years please? This is worse than fraud! It's fraud and deformation of character!! Even Madoff wasn't this wicked. At least he defrauded people of their money and left their names clean.

What saddens me is the fact that MJ's lawyers couldn't convince him to let the idiots go to court and say what ever they wanted. MJ was too concerned about his reputation at that time; poor him, what he would have realized was that there was no way paparazzi wouldn't publish the story and paying off is worse than appearing in court.

May his soul rest in peace and may Jordan Chandler and his father chock in the monies MJ was made to part with. I hope his father is still very much alive to face the shame.
CelebritiesRe: Michael Jackson's Last Photos From His Concert Rehearsal 2 Days Before His Death by yimiton(f): 9:36am On Jun 30, 2009
I love MJ so much but how could he have been practicing those really difficult and technical steps. He's been too too frail for a long time to attempt something is huge. I was always afraid he wasn't going to survive this tour but I never thought he wasn't even going to make it to that day. I love you MJ, I love you so much.
CelebritiesRe: Lisa Marie Presley Is A Golddigger! by yimiton(f): 9:27am On Jun 30, 2009
Get your source right before you say things on the internet please. Elvis Presley is extremely rich and very very famous. His daughter inherited riches from him, this makes her rich and definitely not a leach.

@ ofokasibe,
I think you got it all mixed up. She said the home page was cool because you could get the gist of what people are most talking about, and u could check them out yourself.
But he said annoymity had it's good and bad points because it helps you to express yourself without holding back but the bad thing about that is that a lot of people abuse that priviledge by being insulting.

Ok, if u won't tell me her ID, I guess she'll reach out to me sometime or I'll get to find her out if I look hard enough. Unfortunately, I'm no longer a Nairaland fan the way I used to be.
FamilyRe: My Would-Be Husband Deceive My And My Family by yimiton(f): 2:05pm On Mar 05, 2009
@ Poster,
You made some silly mistakes but it's time to stand up, dust yourself and go ahead with life.
You cheapened yourself by agreeing to get involved with a man who is even a prospective divorcee. It just spells 'desperate'

Next time, stay away from married men, weather they are about to get a divorce or what ever. They are married and that is what they are.
Music/RadioRe: Kennis Music Has Finally Lost It by yimiton(f): 10:54am On Mar 05, 2009
I can't stand both of them especially the very fat big, black, ugly one. I think they are both too old for what they are trying to do.
They can do the back ground work but they need to put some young people as the face of Kenny's music. Some fun filled, vibrant cool young dudes and chics will do just they job that they try so hard to do and flunk it so obviously. They are just not my type of guys.
Music/RadioRe: Omawunmi's " In D Music" by yimiton(f): 10:04am On Mar 05, 2009
I haven't seen the movie but now that but I'll look out for it. I think the music is very beautiful. It's powerful and controlled. The first time I heard it, I thought it was South African until I heard it was from our own Omawumi. It's simply wonderful, I can never have too much of it.
Music/RadioRe: Nairaland To Feature On Top Radio Fm by yimiton(f): 9:35am On Mar 05, 2009
@ Jarus,

I listened to the program. It was quite interesting considering how the anchor lady handled it but most of the people that could get in weren't members of nairaland and they were talking out of point. Good thing though, Tosyn Bucknor simply cut them off.

I called and finally got through after trying like 20 times.

I think NL should be discussed again. It was quite interesting and laced with loads of beautiful Nigerian music.

@ Tosyn Buknor, you were right, i can't find your ID on NL

@ Pelumiv, you got it all wrong after all while Dragnet was very correct. Slot was more than pleased to accept it back and as I said earlier, NOTHING happened to it. It simply stopped working. I'm not paying for repairs they are replacing with a brand new one. That was one of the reasons I bought it from them. Thanks for your advice though.
PhonesRe: Phone Engineers on Nairaland willing to assist you. by yimiton(f): 9:58am On Feb 04, 2009
@ dragnet thanks.
I'll try that this weekend when I'm not working but how do I contact you if they refuse to trace it?
PhonesRe: Phone Engineers on Nairaland willing to assist you. by yimiton(f): 9:51am On Feb 03, 2009
@ Dragnet,
I already tried that too and it didn't work. Would have been pleased to return it to slot but I don't have the receipt anymore, that's why I'm looking for alternative solution.

I'll still try slot though, they just might take it up.
PhonesRe: Phone Engineers on Nairaland willing to assist you. by yimiton(f): 8:42am On Feb 03, 2009
@ thomp4pal
Nothing happened to it, it simply stopped working. The battery was low when I left it in the room while I watched a movie in the sitting room. I guess it must have gone totally flat and went off . I plugged it in to charge but the charging just wouldn't come on. I plugged it to my PC to see if it would charge but it didn't. In short, it didn't even show that a phone was plugged, it's simply dead.
I used a spare battery which was fully charged, yet it's still as dead as a rock.

I bought it from slot in December and it's still suppose to be under warranty but I can't find the slip of a receipt they gave to me. Though the IMEI number is on the pack, I wonder if they'll be willing to go the extra trouble to trace it.

RomanceRe: I Think My Girlfriend Sent Me This Message Intended For Her Secret Lover by yimiton(f): 4:07pm On Jan 29, 2009
She's not cheating. Below is the translation of the SMS

How body na,
abe you no see
My message?
Maybe you dey buzy. But wat
you do today?
If you finished you call me.
abel na yor Friendo. Bleep"

How are you doing? / What's up?
(Abe also spelled as abi) in this context means 'or' 'didn'? etc.
Didn't you see my message?
Maybe you're busy but what are you up to today?
When you're done, kindly call me.
Abel, it's your friend!

If she was cheating, she won't need to end the Sms by introducing herself.
This text is too casual to be sent to a lover
She prolly lied about sending it to you because you're overly jealous and suspecious but this text is obviously not sent to a lover.

FamilyRe: As Nigerians: Pregnant Daughter Or Gay Son? by yimiton(f): 2:35pm On Jan 19, 2009
Inasmuch as none of them is an interesting option, I'll rather my daughter, no matter how young she is, gets pregnant without even knowing the father of her child (multiple sexual partners) than for my son to be say he's gay.

Really, I don't understand how being gay can be accepted in any society. It's way beyond ordinary wild sexual practice, I think it's weired and too deep to be called a sin. God forbids that it happens to me, I really don't know what I'll do but I'm sure I'll never become 'supportive'
RomanceRe: Love Gone Sour: Ny Doctor Requests Kidney Back After Divorce by yimiton(f): 10:32am On Jan 09, 2009
Good one. She should either give the man back his kidney or go away with no monetary settlement from the man. I don't understand how a woman cheats on her husband and still has the guts to make divorce settlement demands. She can't have it both ways, she can give it back to the man and get another from her partner in crime.
RomanceRe: Man Refuses To Marry A Girl He Disvirgined Because She's Not A Virgin by yimiton(f): 10:11am On Jan 09, 2009
outright nonsense.
This is what annoys me about these hypocrites. Now, probably no man will marry that girl because she's not a virgin but what about the man who's been sleeping with this girl, will anyone ask to see 'something' on his wedding day to ascertain weather or not he's a virgin. It's unfortunate this is the case but if the guy really loved the girl and knew he couldn't marry her if she's not a virgin on her wedding day, he would have kept his rode under key and lock! or he should plan with this girl to make sure his family sees 'something' on their wedding day. Ketchup is still very much in the market! No, maybe they'll see through that, what about chicken blood!
