Experienced people in the house, pls I seriously need your opinions on this issue.

I work in a telecoms company as a regulatory compliance specialist. My job basically is to ensure that my company is 100% compliant with laid down regulations relating to our business. In other words, I overlook the activities of some key departments to ensure that they are not in violation of regulations and if they are, it's my duty to ensure that they retract their steps.

So, I am the go-in-between the regulator and my company.

Now, my question is, I have chosen NOC 4423 by-law enforcement and other regulatory officers. NEC but I am afraid that this might be wrong.

This NOC seems to refer to staff of the Regulator (NCC, CPC etc) and not the Regulated or the person who ensures compliance of with regulations.

If that is the case, what NOC do I fall under considering my job description above?

I will really really appreciate your responses pls.

I suggest that you "dive" into the pool immediately your ECA arrives. You can update your EE profile anytime your spouse gets ECA and IELTS results.

When is your ECA likely to be out? Nobody can tell what the cutoff of the next draw would be. What if the next one or the one after it is 420, just saying. IRCC has been unpredictable lately.

Send me a PM on the UNILAG contact issue if it has not been sorted.

@optionese: Congrats on your ECA. Update sharply! cheesy
Thanks for your response. I really can't tell when my ECA will be out. It's pending with WES, stuck on 'awaiting verification from institution' I'll follow up with my school next week.
If I'd discovered this thread earlier, I'd have used IQAS. WES takes much longer.

Please how did you apply, did you go online to fill yourself or settled an agent, asking cos I spoke to someone yesterday who confirmed that paper is scarce but one can still get the passport if you go through them. Anyone with a recent experience of using an agent?
He applied and paid online but after his experience in the passport office, he said it would have been better to pay someone in the passport office to handle it. It's been time wasting, being sent from one office to another, being told to settle one person or another, being told to fill forms even after correctly filling it online etc. He's gone 2ce and still not been able to do biometrics.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by yimiton(f): 5:06am On Apr 07, 2017
I will have a total of 420 points when my ECA comes out but waiting for my spouse to get his ECA and IELTS which should jump me up to over 445. The challenge is that his passport has expired and although, he's applied for a new passport, we heard there's no passport material and no one knows when they'll get a new batch. Until the passport comes, he can't apply to write IELTS.

Would you advice that we enter the pool and update when he gets his ECA and IELTS or should I wait until we get everything and enter the pool with a more substantial point?

Thanks for your prompt responses so far.

To all gurus in the house please advice me if I have chance of making 400+

Pls, is it possible for someone who does not have item 1-5 to get 400+ , because item 1-5 below I don't have them.

1. I dont have family in canada which give you more point
2. I dont study in Canada to give me more point
3 I dont work in Canada before to give me more point
4. I do not get job offer from canada to give mew more point
5. I dont not get province nomination to give me more point.
Because all these are points

Reason for asking

Is just that all theses above I do not have, that is the reason I refuse to take IELTS exam because I know with absence of the above point I may not meet 400+

Pls based on you advice do you think I have a chance of getting 400+ with condition below.

I am man 36years age + 6 years work experience in NOC A class job.( gas turbine operation, power station) B.ENg + M.Eng in mechanical engineering.
But all the question 1-5 above I don't have them, so am scared if I can get 400+ if write IELTS exam. Since 1-5 are more points and I don't have them.

n.e.c means not elsewhere classified, meaning the duties of that particular NOC have not been lumped under any other NOC.

Experienced people in the house, I need your help with clarification on this issue.

I am a Regulatory Staff in a Telecoms company and once my WES arrives, I intend to apply under NOC 4423 By-law enforcement and other regulatory officers, n.e.c. my question is what does n.e.c. mean? I hope it's not a regulated skill?

Your responses will be highly appreciated please.

WES got all my documents from UNILAG since 7th of March, 2017. They updated my page on the 11th but over 3 weeks later, when I was expecting a response from them, they sent me a mail informing me that they've sent photocopies of my documents to UNILAG for verification. Since then, it's been the same update on the site.

Please my questions are as follows:

1. Has anyone had this experience before? If yes, how long did it take UNILAG to respond?
2. Do I have to follow up with UNILAG?
3. If yes, does anyone have a contact in UNILAG that I can use?
4. Since WES' email says they expect a 'written' letter from UNILAG, does it mean that they sent physical photocopies to UNILAG and expect UNILAG to respond with hard copy letter?
5. If yes to number 4, will UNILAG contact me to pay for the courier or will UNILAG use regular snail mail to send their response to WES?

6. Is there anything I can do to fastrack this process?

Finally, ITA arrived for my wife! cheesy

Just when we were gradually accepting the reality of waiting for the next draw, God showed us His favour. For a journey that started with our first IELTS in December 2014, we give Him all the glory.

Thanks to this wonderful e-family for the encouragement, kind words and support. May God grant all your wholesome hearts' desires in Jesus' name, Amen!

AetA:
Thanks don't have the picture now, I mean the red one sold in nylon in Nigeria with an African baby on it.
I don't know about that, I stopped using huggies a long time ago because of imitation and high cost. The diaper that I know that is of premium quality and also pretty cheap is Molfix. You'll find it on Kaymu. For new babies, its like 3,400 for a pack of 104 and 1,700 for a pack of 52. I've been using it for a while and no regrets whatsoever.
HealthRe: What's The Best Diapers? by yimiton(f): 4:05am On Oct 27, 2015
From personal experience, I believe pampers and huggies are over-rated in Nigeria and most mothers are not open to try other bands. There are imitation huggies in the market, but even the original American ones suck sometimes. For me, I use Molfix now. The prices are very good and the quality is fantastic. It doesn't leak and no smell even when wet. They are available online on Konga, Kaymu and Jiji. They are all pay on delivery so you can see what you want to buy before you pay. It's as low as N1700 for a pack for 52 pieces for new born. It's made in Turkey by the way.
FamilyRe: Best Diaper For Babies by yimiton(f): 3:50am On Oct 27, 2015
LordReed:
My experience with is quite the opposite with Huggies. Huggies did not provide as much absorption for my DD, I was disappointed.
I agree with you. Aside from the fact that there are lots of fake huggies in the market, even the original ones aren't so fantastic. The first one that I used was bought from Walmart in the us and it leaked badly, plus absorption was bad.
Nigerian mothers are getting smarter though, they don't buy just name anymore. Personally, I now use a brand called Molfix. This diaper is really nice, super absorbent, no imitation and really cheap compared to other brands on its level. In short, you can compare it with pampers premium. It's available on Konga, jiji and Kaymu. Since I tried it, I've stopped wasting my money on other brands.
TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by yimiton(f): 12:01am On Sep 12, 2015
Dear Visa Officer,
In the process of paying for my family's visa fees on the GT Bank online Internet Banking Platform, I filled a payment form with my husband's details but mistakenly imputed my passport number instead of his.

I contacted the bank to rectify this error but the bank informed me that only the Visa office can make changes on payments already made.

I have made a fresh payment for my husband with his correct details and will like to use the payment with my passport number for myself. Would it be accepted?

Hello everyone. Pls I need to know if a change of name on an international passport can now be done in lagos...and how much. thanks
You still have to go to Abuja for capturing. If you're doing it directly, it's about 18k but if you use a contact, you'll get it the same day you capture, you'll pay 50k or thereabouts. Anyways, you must still go to Abuja for capturing.

Please I want to change to my married name on my international passport and the former one has expired.ido I still need to go to abuja to do that or can it be processed in lagos now?I have all the documents required.
Did you still have to go to Abuja?

I stay in Lagos and I have all my documents which I have sent to a contact in the immigration office Abuja. The contact requested for 50k and he processed the papers in one day. He called that I could come for capturing about 3 hours after he received the documents and money.

However, my sister just called now and told me that it's no longer necessary to go to Abuja. She said change of name can now be done in Lagos. I wonder if this is true. If you have a contact, please call and let's know.

What about Reddington, Lagos? I like the VIP treatement they give patients and their expertise in surgeries as well as the cleanliness and neatness of the place. Their staff are also very friendly and always ready to help. The only problem is, if it's not an emmergency case, you might have to wait all day to get attended to.

"I couldn't believe it. I was on my way to church and I had just parked my car when six boys, very young boys, just came to me and started ordering me to come with them.

"I told them to take it easy, that I would do what they say, and they took me to their car, blindfolded me and drove away. I asked where we were going, and they said Port Harcourt, then Benin, then Asaba.

"Instead, when they took off the blindfold, we were in a forest. That night, I slept on the ground.

"But they were very nice to me. They didn't touch me. They didn't take any of my jewellery or wallet or anything else. We were just talking like old friends. They assured me that nothing would happen to me.

"I even prayed with them.

"Then the next morning, they started to move again. It was later that I discovered that it was because the whole state had been covered by security operatives. They told me all the roads, even the rivers and creeks were being watched by security."

Although, he's a goalkeeper for Sierra Leon's amputee football, he was very relieved about Charles Taylor's sentence after an international tribunal convicted him on 11 counts of aiding and abetting the rebels to carry out war crimes.

RomanceRantings Of A Wedding Planner by yimiton(op): 8:55am On May 25, 2012
She went on and on, talking about the same thing and not even smart enough to use different words, I guess she had never heard the word “REPHRASE”, I was so bored, and it took a lot to keep myself from screaming, I had to keep telling myself, she is your boss, and she has your pay cheque, I said it over and over in my head like a mantra, then the phone rang, her phone…and we had to put an end to the meeting, that was one of our nose in the air, snot faced, old money client in ikoyi.

At the other end of the table, Poised, elegant and as cold as ice, sat the owner of my firm, for this diary we’ll just call her Nadine, because it’s a beautiful name, and it reminds me of those beautiful, cold, vicious Russian KGB, Mossad type babes in the movies, or better put for those of you who are fans of the series Legend of the seeker, she kinda reminds me of the “mord sith” She is like a cross between those mean little fishes in South America, piranhas? And a graceful eagle, don’t ask me how that works, my imagination can be warped at times.

moments later, the delivery guy walked in…from my fave pizza spot ,Debonair, and he asked after D., that was strange, cos I am D, and I would remember picking up the phone and ordering a pizza, so I asked, “Are you sure?” and to prove how sure he was he quoted my mobile number.
Still a bit surprised, I drilled him a bit more. “What’s the name of the person who placed the order?”
“Madam, he didn’t leave his name, he just paid and said we should take it to you”
Enough with questions already, I quickly grabbed it, said thank you and asked my colleagues to join in before we find out it was a mistake… still curious about the sender though.

I looked at my watch, it was 3pm… asides the pizza, it has been one crazy day, customer service can be fun and exciting, but it also tries your patience, being a manager in an establishment that deals with women and all the crazy frenzy of wedding planning,(YES, WE PLAN WEDDINGS!)I have also had to reluctantly double as a marriage counselor! People tend to find it easy to confide in me, maybe it’s because I never have the heart to call people off on all their bulls**t, so I have to listen to reluctant brides, happy brides, bitchy brides and anything else that comes my way…and by anything I mean pushy mothers, nosy mothers in law, crazy friends, jealous friends and any of the female species that walks in, not forgetting the impatient groom in most cases who hate being there but have been forced to come in by their brides. It’s a crazy world in our business and for someone who is cynical about marriage, I must say Nadine does an excellent job. Nadine and I are as different as night and day in personality, but physically we could pass for twins, me being the nice one and she…,the b***h.

I had such a thrill reading this, if you want the full story (an upcoming novel I hear) get the sneak peak from

PhonesRe: Airtel, Etisalat, Glo, & MTN Statement On NCC Fines by yimiton(f): 11:42am On May 23, 2012
EPOMA: Obasanjo shared that money to all the state governors and himself, this was from a very reliable source at that time
@Epoma, this can't be true because Annual Operating Fees is paid annually to NCC and it runs into Billions of Naira. So, Obasanjo couldn't have continued sharing money that kept coming in even after his exit till now.

These are some of the Fees Telecom Companies pay to NCC periodically:

Annual Operating Levy (This amount is ridiculously high, I mean, only one teleco pays over N 1 Billion annually)
Annual Spectrum Fees (Hundreds of Millions of Naira)
Annual Numbering Plan Renewal Fees (Depends on the number of range you have, it's always in Millions)
New Numbering Range Fees (over 500 million Naira)
Advert Notification and Promo Application Fees
etc.

There are also monies paid to other different Regulatory Bodies; like Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Lottery Commission etc and of course, Local Government, States, Traditional Rulers, Youth Organizations etc. These exclude the several various CSR initiatives that the telcos are involved in.

Also, there are usually multiple taxation from different people and organizations and for the risks involved, look at the statement released.

One wonders why the Government cannot invest these monies in National Security for the telecoms infrastructure or at least provide them with electricity to power their infrastructure as well as provide them some sort of security from molestations and exploitation. Instead, they go ahead and impose fines on them for achieving a goal that the government could never have achieved in this business unfriendly country.

God help Nigeria.

In as this is possible, leading oneself into sex slavery is not a good option at all. In most cases, the end result is the exact opposite of what happened in this beautifully written story.

@Nairalanders complaining about the length of the story, it's really not so long. It's captivating and meant to be enjoyed.

Kudos to the writer.
