Thats a wrong assumption. I agree with Odeku. Its typical US foreign policy stance on stuff like this. Take maxico for instance, the US always warn their nationals whenever there is a 'situation' over there yet it doesn't stop investors from doing business over going there.  Investors select countries on variety of prioritized criteria to which domestic plane crash is low. Can you honestly say investors were dying (no pun intended) to come to Nigeria before the recent crash? It goes way beyond that.

Unfortunately Nigeria don't build aircraft. Companies/countries that do charge lots of money on those beast. Again there is nothing wrong with purchasing a used one if and only if it can be maintained and serviced. There are some stuff that needs to be changed constantly on any aircraft. Things that wears out frequently. There is what we call 'phase' service here. Every 6 months we rotationally ground some of our planes and do a complete overhaul - replace the o-rings, bolts, wiring harness, tires and a whole bunch of other. They are expensive of course but it has to be done. I've seen a faulty aircraft land safely with good tires. As for cows on runways, i don't even know what to say about that.

Most people are busy calling for the head of the aviation minister. If you fire him, will that solve the problem? There is a big difference between revenue and profit and thats our problem. We usually see the gross income as profit. Setting aside funds for maintenance/re-training is out the question. We see that as cutting-in on our profit. But as we all know you end up spending more in the long run.

I'm not a big fan of airline consolidation. Not in the present Nigeria. It will only create big corporation monopoly and that equals expensive ticket. Thats not a good economic policy. But if it will solve the problem, by all that is righteous, let them consolidate.

23 year old plane is not the issue here. A well serviced 'old' aircraft can still perform. But again, 23 could mean anything in Nigeria.

Same story, different day. It will happen again, soon. Lets stop the 'God help us' mantra. If i have my way, i will put a law that forbid people from saying that. I think its the root cause of our complacency. Once we utter those words, off we go waiting for the next scheduled crash.

Do a system restore. The restore point should be the day following the IE upgrade. Alternatively, you can un-install the IE component.

Click Control panel --> Add and remove programs --> on the left panel, click add/remove Windows components --> uncheck Internet Explorer --> click NEXT. You might be asked to insert your copy of Windows.

Exactly snazzy. Though it was poorly scripted and filmed, i still believe the storyline was superb and i was a devout follower of the series then.

There is an ongoing scramble to adopt a child from African by American Celebrities with the media on their trail. Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Sharon Stone, Calista Flockhart and Meg Ryan have all adopted children from Africa. Madona just came back from Africa with a Malawian adopted David Banda. Britney is now looking into the possibility of welcoming a disadvantaged African child into her own family.

What's your take on this (humanitarian, anybody?) frenzy? What will/do these celebrities benefit from such transaction and media attention? Methinks most of them adopt these kids for the media attention they can get as most of these kids end up being raised by nannies.

Will you give up your son/daughter for adoption by these celebrities?

Ain't nothing wrong with that. wouldn't it be better to have a cemetery in villages for that? My point is, burying people in villages without control makes it easier for people to commit murder, bury the body and get away with it. In the event the police dug up a body, i can always say thats where my grand dad was buried.

Thats not true. Since we all can't avoid death (old or young), we might as well talk about it. Infact, its in your best interest and that of your family to discuss death now. People who should be quoting this are those in an environment where the system works and the infrastructure in place to aid new businesses.You can have all the ideas in the world but, without capital, they will be useless. Success in business is very relative and depends largely on how big your ideas are and the capital invested. The bigger the ideas, the more capital you need. My point is, you are as successful as big as your ideas are and you damn well need capital, huge capital to get those ideas underway.

Yep, you need to buy a new video card to upgrade. There is no way to upgrade video card's memory with software. Firmware upgrade might give you a lil better performance but, what you are saying is upgrading the ram/cache size. if there are softwarez to do that i definitely wanna know about it.

There is a sneaky way to find out exactly what kind of card you have on your system. Boot with a linux live cd and watch the boot-up process as it list your video card driver loaded. Normally, it will display the type of card and driver loaded. You can also do this with any linux cd. The video card driver will be loaded before it gets to partitioning, get the type of card and abort the installation. Hope this helps

There is nothing wrong with flash drives. It all depends on how you use them and the manufacturer. Of course If you buy a cheap one its gon damage fast. Another thing is, flash drives has limited number of writes, that is the number of times you can write (save) on them. I think the standard for most drives is 100,000 writes. But some of the manufacturers (especially,  Chinese manufacturers) don't follow the standard.

You can do a total rebuild of Windows XP (i assumed you are using XP) without losing any data and without having to reinstall software - basically giving you a fresh, nondestructive installation of XP. Make sure you have the product key.

Thats pretty much the basic. If all has gone as planned, you'll find all the user accounts and passwords intact, all the hardware devices set up as before, and all the previously installed software still installed and configured. In fact, the only significant change will be that whatever problem your copy of XP was previously experiencing will now be gone!
