JAMB is good.

Waec and NECO are the problems.

The simple solution is make the DG of Jamb also the DG of Weac and NECO, then you'll see changes. SHIKENA

Unfortunately, WAEC is not a Nigerian institution.

She keep saying she was young, at 19 she wasn’t ignorant to know what false accusation is, injustice anywhere is a treat to justice everywhere.

You all are acting like you don't realize her family forced her to lie but she still later had the courage to own up to the truth.

This same thing has happened and keep happening in Nigeria here. Most times, it's the fault of the families not the girls themselves.

We are having a culture around the world program next week Friday at school and I'm the coordinator for Norway.

All these things you said are correct plus their foods are kind of weird. I'm glad you emphasized on rice.

They are not big on it.

This is one of the consequences of unemployment. See able bodied men assembled during working hours to fool themselves. Is there a law against indecent dressing? If there is, why not get the authorities to come pick her up? How many men have been harassed for going out with button open or wearing singlets?

We complained when SARS were arresting and harassing people based on mode of dressing then perpetrate and applaud the same thing when it suits us.

I hope the girl knows someone that knows someone. When the guy is found somewhere we will all blame Fulani herdsmen not knowing his inability to mind his business or unemployment is what got him there.

According to law, she is liable to a short term jail and fine of 500k for indecent dressing.

you mentioned culture here, in Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa including Fulani culture, the women wear skirts or rapper why they men wear trousers 👖. You see that you are wrong with your opinion on culture. If we applied culture here, women will be wearing skirts everywhere.

If we apply culture, that law will be subjective. If your culture says women should wear trousers, then so be it and vice versa.

The quote "A Teacher reward is in heaven"is a punchline for you to get exploited by capitalism the more.

In all humility, who the Bleep told you all teachers will make heaven if there's in fact one

If you're in your 20s, deep down you know you can't amount to anything with that job in this country.

Take risk, do that fraud, the times where decency in how you earn might get you something or somewhere great is gone.

Critically look at the options to make money legally in this country and compare it to the population, then you'll realise that everyone cannot succeed legally.

So that your friend that did fraud but you did not join him or her because you thought there's something better somewhere, better swallow your pride and go back to him or her if they're still in the country anyway and like you enough to forgive and teach you.

The concept of right or wrong is relative to the circumstances in your environment, everyone won't have first class or second class upper, so what should others do, kill themselves

Do what you have to do then go legit, a time might come in this country or the world where only those that have money would be afforded rights

Most people that did fraud(yahoo yahoo) and other affiliated schemes would go on to live a very fulfilled life, don't be shocked when their kids or they themselves employ you, the hardworking citizens. E.g your politicians.

Get off your moral horse or moral high ground and observe the times you're in then act accordingly because times have changed.

I'm 21, earn 150k every month as a teacher plus 30k transport allowance with My SSCE result though I'm a part time student of English Language Education at LASU.

Your vicinity and level of mastery depends on what you earn. My colleague is going to Greenspring next term where he would be earning 300k per month.

Life is not the same. No be everybody wey do fraud dey cash out.

tamdun:

Why can't they simply use happy, both u and the senator are correct, gay means happy to u and it means something else to the Senator

The book is written based on rhyme. Happy will spoil the rhyme of that passage since their focus was on the /ei/ sound

Gay as happy is what is considered ‘an old English’ it is not used contemporarily. If you were walking on the road and overheard someone say that person walking along is gay I bet you won’t think of happy. Don’t play devil’s advocate with me. We see all the subtle fusion of lgbtq + into everything. Even children’s cartoons.

Then you should also know that Queen Primer is an old book too.

I've known of the use of gay in Queen Primer before the word became popularly associated with Homosexualism

Ban it.

It did not subtly introduce gay into it, it did it viciously. After few pages, they put in the line ‘let us be gay’ for little kids to fill their heads with.

It must be banned.

As an English Language teacher, when I saw that line, I laughed like mad. You know why? Nigerians will always attack without thinking.

Let us be gay means let us be happy. Gay has more than one meaning and gay was used to continue the rhyme pattern of the book.

Come to iyanaba and see how aboki and market women are turning the new completed 10 lane road network to dusbin site. Shit everywhere along the pedestrian way, i was heading to PPL and i had to cover my nose.
The only thing many Nigerians know how to do is blame government.

I move from LASU to Okoko and men the way those abokis shit on the road is something else. I observed on Wednesday that the people that sold on the road at Okoko are no longer there though they started selling small small on Sunday.

I'm waiting to see what happens to Alaba Rago.

Hw can a sch cert be paid dis amount?

I dont believe u.
I'm paid the amount because I'm running a part time Education program in LASU. Mind you, I'm the only non graduate in that school and they don't accept school cert or NCE. That has to show how good I am to work in such an institution.
Education / Re: How Private School Owners In Nigeria Deprive Their Teachers Of Rest by youngdabold19: 11:17pm On Aug 29, 2023
Rapmoney:
It seems as if private school owners in Nigeria belong to a secret cult that is hidden from the public, and which is different from the usual private school owners association that we know of. It's as if anyone who opens a school is forced to join this 'evil association' with utmost alacrity. Why do I feel so? There is a laid down pattern which almost everyone of them follows. To suck you, use you and drain the youthfulness out of your soul.

All over the world, July/August is usually a long holiday when teachers take out time to rest, go on vacations or engage in acquiring new skills that could even be outside their field. What we usually observe in Nigeria is different from this. In Nigeria, it is a time where school owners engage teachers in fruitless and vain holiday lesson just to suck money from gullible parents and prevent the teachers from engaging in other endeavours that can improve their lives and wellbeing.

If you're a young person and you work in a private school, I beg you, have different plans for yourself and set targets for the duration you wish to work in the school, if you don't want your life to become wasted. There is no career growth in Nigerian private schools. The highest that will be offered you when you work for 10/12 years is the post of a principal/headmaster/headmistress and with a salary of 70k - 80k. After that, what happens? Of course, you can't be promoted to occupy the school owner's position.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that working in a private school is bad. What I am saying is that as a young person, don't stay too long on the job. Lest you waste your life.

Dem say 'dey do am till better job come, dey do am till better job come, na so Brother Okrimona take turn 58 years for inside teaching job.

Talking about career growth and payment depends on where you work.

My salary has been increased twice since I joined my place of work 16 months ago. From 70k, I now earn 110k plus I'm a school cert holder running a part time university program. In some schools, participation in summer lesson is optional. Like I said, it depends on where one works

I really never understood the reason behind flogging someone for failing a subject.

It never ever made sense to me
Someone will pay School Fees
Attend your class
Instead of you to correct the student who failed or give him/her Zero mark.
You flog them and still give them Zero mark, on top the school fees the person paid??

Flogging is punishing the child for wasting your efforts. Yours is to teach and theirs is to learn and pass....
Punish them for not being responsible.
By the way na their parents dey pay school fees that's why some of them don't take their studies serious
