This is just noise. We've passed that stage now. All there are in positions of power are rulers and theives. Nigeria will collapse under the enormity of her numerous problems very soon. Lies, deceit and greed do not build a society. |
Gonin Gora is a Christian dominated area in Kaduna South LGA(not Southern Kaduna). It is part of the Metropolitan Kaduna City. The area actually started developing after a lot of Christians were displaced from the heart of the city. It is just by the entrance of Kaduna from the Abuja-Kaduna Road. I've always seen that place as an area vulnerable to attack because it is isolated from other Christian areas in Kaduna City. The Christians in KD city know what to do as they have witnessed a lot of such attacks in the past. Our problems most times as Christians is complacency. This Muslims use the assistance of their people in the military, why can't we do same? Majority of muslim soldiers are loyal to Islam and not your imaginary country called Nigeria only deluded Christians think they have a country. |
The most hilarious of all the pix is that one PMB was depicted as a mechanic fixing a dilapidated car handed to him by GEJ. I would like to see a present depiction of that cartoon. Buhari has destroyed Nigeria with his utterances and actions. Nepotism, tribalism, cronyism and religious favouritism has killed Nigeria. Anyone who tells you this Nigeria will get better without the fundamental issues besetting her js solved, such a person is only deceiving you. Death to the evil contraption. |
Seunpaul01:This is exactly what I've been talking about. The President General of a pan-Igbo organisation was talking to an Igbo group and his message was directly about his desire to be selfless for the Igbo cause but a hate filled non-Igbo couldn't just resist it and had to spew hatred towards us. Just imagine the calibre of people we share the same country with. Tufiakwa! |
AntiIPOOP:And whoever hates to see my people free from the shackles placed on my people and our land I'll never hesitate to bury a sharp dagger in his heart. You can never build a country with my people being treated as appendages. |
Lol. Biafra your worst nightmare will suddenly come upon you and you will be left confused not knowing what to do. Thereafter, the one that will cut your heart to pieces will come upon you. By then, you will realise how unwise you have been by focusing all your energy in trying to stop a harmless Biafra while leaving a vampire at your gate unattended. It will be too late as he will devour some of your offsprings and hang his chains on the necks of you and the remnants of your offsprings. The world is watching as we march on towards our freedom. Peace to all lovers of freedom. |
PatriotTemidayo:You've said exactly what I had in mind. I'm a Christian and the Holy Bible encourages us to be wise. The richest establishment on the earth is the Roman Catholic Church. However, credit goes to her as they have really been of immense help to their members and to other Christians. Orphanages, schools for the physically challenged, very affordable primary and secondary schools, affordable hospitals you name them. This also is being done by the Protestant Churches but our Pentecostal Churches are far from this track. All we see are expensive ventures that don't physically help our poor Christians worst still even their own members. I've always spoken openly against the system. I fear no one except God but I know it would be wrong to attack persons especially the GOs of such Churches. Now, they own private jets and all manner of Vehicles while the vast majority of their members are living in penury. The system is very bad and should be discussed. Enough of that. |
Firstly, the police should go on with their investigation while the people of Anam should send depatches to their neighbouring communities especially those bordering Kogi state to look for any clues of any unusual gathering. Involve any of your brothers who has a military experience for tactics on how to slaughter invaders. Arms are everywhere in southern Nigeria so no problem in that regard. Also, monitor any police or military formation around your community. They could be used to harbour or ferry those fulani militias as was done in Uzo-Uwani. I hope you noticed the reference the so called victim's father made about that community. Leave nothing to chance my people. Legends are created by men. We cannot leave in fear in the lands of our ancestors from strangers who just came to this part of the Africa few centuries ago. All the fulanis in the whole planet are far below our population so we have a head start already. Death to this evil contraption. Finally, it will be difficult convincing our people to put a halt on beef consumption but when faced with certain challenges, drastic decisions are taken to solve them until situation improves. We are dealing with demons here so asking that we shun beef for the time being is worth it. I do hope the majority of our people will begin to overlook their cattle. Don't buy them and don't eat them. Let's manage other types of meat. |
Everyday I pray for the death of this evil contraption whose delight is evident in the suffering and death of progressive and peace loving people. Smaller countries performing at average but living in peace is better than a mammoth one living in total chaos. I've checked to see if this Nigeria can be great but all I see is gloom. The only hope is what Gideon Orkar tried to do but failed. Ever since, no one in Orkar's mould has been born. The demons from the core north do not share in any dream of the Nigeria you wish. How many have failed to figure this out is what I find surprising. Up till date there are still Christian girls forcefully held in Muslim homes. Christians are being murdered and the culprits never brought to book. Land conquest is presently on going in the north and yet you still are dreaming of a great Nigeria. I've never seen a very thoughtless people before. While you keep on dreaming of a Nigeria that will never come, the jihadists are gaining grounds. Nasarawa state that has no single indigenous hausa people years ago today is being strongly claimed by them. Your fixation on Igbo people and their affairs is your undoing. Today, our people have decided to forget about Nigeria and press for our own country. That's our plan and we are putting motions in place. You what is your people's plan? None except to stop Ndigbo from achieving theirs. Have you ever asked yourself what becomes of you and your people if you failed in stopping Ndigbo? This should make you know that you have no plan. This Nigeria is an expired experiment. All her infrastructures have crumbled and the mountain of myriads problems will ensure that she dies. What are your people's plans out Nigeria? Think in that light. |
Its pathetic that the victims and targets of these merchants of death still find a way to play with what consumes them. Its clear the lady is just joking albeit airing the hurt in her, these messengers of magog will not hesitate to decapitate her should they find her. Even with all the present uproar, more killings are in the offing. The goal has been established, the process is steady only the frequency is what varies. I can see what a majority of our docile Christians can't. Did it not happen in Plateau state, what was the outcome? The one in Benue, what happened to the evil fulani militiamen dubbed herdsmen? Not a single person was brought to book whereas thousands had died. Those Tiv lands, have they been handed back to the Tivs or are they still been occupied by fulanis? I've never seen such docility as exhibited by the middle belt people. |
Emperor Ade Ade Ade Ade Ademusiwa. The Aare ona kankanfo of Oduduwaland and the Emperor of Western Nigeria now elevated to the King of Nigeria. I dey hail o. Pls help us sack Buhari. |
Nasman:Typical lies. Southern Kaduna people have more population than the Hausa/fulanis there. All what the OP posted is just the truth. I read in a Kaduna based magazine shortly after the 2006 census on how the hausa/fulanis were so angry that SK had more population than NK. Lol, have anyone ever wondered why there's no emir in Kaduna city as against the norm? All those lands belonged to the Kaje people but today have been taken over. I know many southerners will just gloss over this thread not knowing what to write but people like me understand the plight of the SK people. |
KevinDein:See the one accusing Ndigbo of hate! It is your people's hatred that destroyed Nigeria. |
Rochas, you are a big disappointment. What do you take Ndimo for? You've littered Imo with substandard projects and have refused to pay workers and pensioners as at when due. Rochas though a kind gesture you showed to the two youngsters, you still remain heartless to not have known that your hardened heart against the cries of Imo workers could have pauperised more families. Rochas you have failed Ndibeanyi, and these few flashes of light cannot illuminate the pitch darkness that has enveloped our land under your watch. You will be remembered but I doubt it shall be for any good. We are watching as you continue to dance to the torment of our people. Rochas, ihere mee gi. |
Adminisher:You keep mentioning technology here and there meanwhile a simple bullet you can't manufacture. Don't worry, that which you seek you will soon see. Its good that majority of those online supporting the evil happening in Nigeria are Yorubas. The Niger Deltans can clearly see where your tent is pitched. Soon the cockerels will come home to roost. By then don't complain. Nature abhors tension and as present, Nigeria has been so stretched even beyond her yield point. Her failure is guaranteed. Only the time is unknown. |
dosk:Lol. So, it was all the Igbos that planned the coup? So, it was Ojukwu that disregarded the agreement reached at Aburi? So, it was Ojukwu that declared war on Nigeria? Ordinary restructuring and the implementation of the PIB, you guys refused yet you want us to continue as you milk our resources dry with nothing to show for in our land. You tacit support of the abandonment of our land after the war with reasons that we caused the war already explains the calibre of persons that you are. Of course, you didn't and still don't feel our pains but you want us to show compassion on a self inflicted suffering in the NE. You deserve what ever calamity that befalls you and your land. This is how you wish to build a country right? There can never be peace when there's no justice. Wait until the current agitations take another dimension, that's when you will understand better. Your mind is made up already. We are just getting the few remainder of our people who still have faith in this evil contraption to forget about her and team up with us then hell will be let loose. You will dream of you this days but you won't ever see it again. |
Lol. As you go about your campaign of calumny against IPOB, may you never be able to stand against your oppressors. May there always be someone to work against whatsoever you're fighting for. |
dosk:Let me ask you few questions. What was your opinion when the eastern region was abandoned after the much touted 3Rs meant to give life to a war ravaged region Gowon's government? What was your take when Late Sani Abacha hanged the Ogoni six for daring to speak out against the oil pollution of Ogoniland? Of course you do not know what the easterners passed through all those times. It never occurs to you that the present meta-quest of making money to ensure financial security might have been born through what they suffered. My people have a saying that goes thus: when you see others carrying a corpse in a wooden coffin, it is as though it were a piece of wood that is been transported. You never felt our pain and even still do not feel our pain as we ask for restructuring, why then should we blink over what happens in the NE? The volume of trade in Nigeria would have been bigger if the eastern coastline was opened for business but No, they will never do such a thing as that will help the region. Why then should I lose a sleep over what Boko Haram, a tool of your selfish rulers did to a section of your region? |
QuotaSystem:Lol. Watch as your Vultures are smoked down from their height. Its a fight for freedom that we all support. This Nigeria has expired. |
Adminisher:Bring it on bro. Everyone will feel the pain. |
@OP, which of the Omuo Ekiti are you referring to? Omuo 1 or Omuo 2? |
gerg:I'm from Anambra with origin traceable to present day Ohafia in Abia state. When Ohafias speak I barely understand them because of the long time the founder of my town left there. I barely understand Owerre too so I wouldn't be fair to say that Ikas should be able to understand Owerre dialect. I only said you should try and study the similarities. It could help you understand better. Don't be quick to dismiss what I've written here. I've met and spoken with both Igbanke and Agbor indigenes. |
gerg:Ok. Igbanke is of the Ika tribe in Africa which constitutes Agbor, and up to the border towns of Alifekede down to Umunede. According to Omoregbe Nwanwene, “six villages constitute Igbanke: these are Umoluah, Igbontor, Idumodin, Ake, Olije, and Ottah – all migrated from different places.” It is also the case that the foundation of history of Igbanke indicates poignantly that for many centuries after the different villages of Igbanke had been founded, the Igbankes enjoyed absolute independence because they were not vassals of any other people. The name Igbanke arose from a combination of (the names of) two villages: Igbontor and Ake, after a thorough historical supremacy was established. The government of Igbanke is presided over by the Eze, Enogies, Odioweres, Ndichies, Dikens, Okhiolors, and Okhialis. Each of these heads has his jurisdiction The jurisdiction could be stratified into three: The family level, the clan or hamlets and the villages. At the family level, the Okhilor (he is usually the oldest man in the family) presides. At the village quarters, the Okhilor is the head, while the Eze rules over the entire village. https://www.nairaland.com/58455/ika-people-igbanke |
gerg:Firstly, I do not lie. Read this 4) Igbanke is made up of six (6) autonomous clans: Ake/Obiogba, Idumu-Odin, Igbontor, Oligie, Omolua and Ottah. These clans were governed by traditional rulers called ‘’Eze or Obi’’. These terms were of Ika origin, but have been forcefully changed to ‘’Enogie’’ a Bini term by the conquering Binis. Below is another excerpt from an article online that highlights what the Igbanke people are suffering in their present LGA from their supposed brothers. 1)Most Igbanke indigenes who have Ika ancestral names like, “Emeka”, “Maduka”, “Chukwuka’’, “Chinyere”, “Amaka and “Ogorchukwu etc are often confronted with all forms of harrowing experiences when there are needs to visit our council headquarters, Abudu to process one official documents or the other. We are often denied the issuance of documents like, ‘’Certificate of Local Government of origin’’, Protest Letter’’, To Whom it May Concern’’ etc on the guise that we are Igbos not Binis. 2) Those who have the likes of the Ika aforementioned names, but can speak Bini language are rarely subjected to the above embarrassments and discriminations. This act goes a long way to vindicate our fear that there is a subtle, but carefully planned agenda to make us lose and abandon our ancestral linguistic and cultural heritage. 3) In order to escape from these unnecessary embarrassments, some have no other option left than to change their identity from Ika to Bini names. 4) Today, we, the good people of Igbanke are gradually losing our once envied linguistic and cultural identity. 5) Some of the eminent sons and daughters of Igbanke, whom out of their outstanding contributions to the development of the community, were recognized and given chieftaincy titles had had such titles changed from their original Ika origin to Bini equivalence. For example, few years ago, one of our sons who addressed himself as “Chief Orike-Eze” in Oba of Benin palace was shamefully harassed, insulted and forcefully forced, right in the palace to change the title to its Bini version. According to the palace, the title, “Orike-Eze” had its origin from Ika and Igbo nations. You can see that I tell no lies. Your unreserved apology is demanded. |
gerg:That so called 'ri mma' and a few others, did you bother yourself to see if there could be any trace of a link between Ika and Owerre? Have you studied any ancient artwork from both sides? I have done so hence my comparison. I advise you do too then come back and say what you discovered. The Europeans who studied Ika extensively called them Western Igbos and not otherwise. |
gerg:Take for instance Igbanke which is presently in Edo state. Virtually everything about their language and customs scream Igbo. There traditional ruler goes by the title Eze and not even Obi. Will you say it was the Igbos across the R . Niger that influence them? Look that the sentence construction of the Ikas: it is clearly Igbo. Languages which were and are Edoid can still be identified through lots of similarities. Urhobos, Isokos, Ishans, Estakos clearly bear edoid language constructions but not the Ika language. Ika is purely of Igbo origin of course with bini loan words. Ika barely has any traceable link with SE Igbo groups but still speak like the Owerre Igbo subgroup. Their proximity to Bini did not erase those fundamental markers. Think about that. |
Monogamy:There's no iota of tribalism in my post. You can refute my postulation without resorting to accusations like I did to the OP. Feel free |
I doubt that this pix is from Imo state. My reasons are: > That style of building is not common in Imo state >That topography and its soil and even the kind of dirt there suggests some where else. In fact, I can confidently say this pix was taken in Yorubaland. |
The civil war dealt a deadly blow on the Igbo nation but thank God that we are strongly recovering. However, one persistent challenge here is with the history and origin of the Western portion of Igboland otherwise known as Anioma. Historians have been clear on the make up of that geographical area that a lot of migrations happened in there. The culture, customs and language shows a mixture of different groups of which the dominant ones are Igbo and Bini. Of the two, Igbo takes the major share in virtually all the activities of the people except in the area of Kingship or governance of the people. In Anioma, you find the same leadership titles as is found in Benin. When it comes to language and festivities, just few words and festivals are shared with Benin even though Benin was an empire with immense power that dominated a lot of lands and tribes. Why could her influence be so limited if actually the people of Anioma were erstwhile of Benin origin? This is a pertinent question to ask. Igbo on the other hand were never empire builders. They were more of republicans who prefer direct and inclusive governance of their communities. Like I wrote earlier, a lot of migrations happened and so the Igbo migrants into Anioma would be too big and with more power to have had their language and customs displace the former one if actually the earlier occupants of Aniomaland weren't Igbos. This of course is most improbable. That a lot of Anioma monarchs go to Benin for blessings and legitimacy does not equate their respective kingdoms as offshoot of Benin. Those conversant with empires and how they operate with their vassal states would agree that as long as an empire has suzerainty over another land, the leader of the vassal state would have to consistently get to the emperor for legitimacy to ward off any contender to the throne because failure to do that could see the monarch replaced with another of his kind. The problem today is that what was done before as a survival instinct today has been stamped as a tradition. How can you speak a language totally unrelated with another yet you go and get legitimacy from that throne which at present has no jurisdiction over you? It could only be a political set up that has been etched as tradition and never one birthed out of origin. Anioma kings have always been from the people themselves except when new communities are formed. One clear example is using the Ugbodu community as an example. These people's history can be verified from the relics of their ancient language which was clearly not Benin. If the Edos were the aborigines of Aniomaland, won't the Ugbodu's have abandoned their Olukumi language for an edoid one? Why the tilt to Igbo language when there was clearly no imperial power to force them? Its very clear that anything 'unIgbo' in Aniomaland was an external influence. Another pandoras box is this: did the Edo migrations happen only at their eastern flank? What about those on the western side towards Yorubaland? The case of having an 'Osemawe of Ondoland' as the paramount ruler of Ondo town the second largest and most important city in Ondo state tells a lot of stories. The influence of Benin is very clear here just as it is in Akure the capital but you will never hear her people disclaiming Yoruba because they realize that their King acknowledging the great Oba of Benin does not translate to having their origin from Edo. It was clearly a case of politics- Empire vs Vassal state. I hope my long essay did shed some light at the grey areas and it is my wish that we embrace our history and make them source of friendship than bitterness. Trying to de-Igbonise Anioma will only leave the people lost just as our Ikwerre brethren are presently lost in articulation and history. It is my prayer that our people will stop this internal wranglings that bring no one any good. |
All these comments and no likes for the news itself? Come on umunna, we can do better. I want to commend the great Pat Utomi and every other member of the Ibusa group who organised this memorable 'ogbakor' addressing Ndigbo and our present challenges. Ndigbo si na: eziokwu bu ndu. The truth filled article has infused life into our nation more than before. All the key points there shows the calibre of thing tanks that made up the group. The present Ohanaeze are yet to come to grips with enormous duty before them. I'll advise they go and study about the emergence of the Zionist movement in the 19th century and how they worked tirelessly for a homeless Jewish group to become one of the strongest established nation with lands today. There's a lot to learn there. Our politicians should know how to point to the source of the agitations for biafra and should NEVER condemn the present youths calling out for biafra because that is only where they see hope. Nigeria has failed Ndigbo and the onus lie on her to give hope to our youths. DO NOT CONDEMN THOSE CALLING FOR BIAFRA. That you are privileged to be alive today and be in wealth should not make you dismiss those whose stories you never heard nor understand how their supposed country had treated them. To the Igbo elites, have you taken time to ask yourselves how thousands of our people who have lost loved ones and their entire property's destroyed in the constant bloodletting up north? What about the numerous Igbo traders who are rendered shopless overnight in Lagos which clearly has a tribal undertone to it. What about the mockeries and media war targetted against Igboland eg gradually its been taken that we make up 18% of Nigerias population while the Yorubas and Hausas make up more than that. Which census took ethnic groups into consideration and how did they arrive at that? How can you lots be comfortable when a large group like Igbo have no federal infrastructures in our land, no railways, no companies or money generating venture of the FG in Igboland even ordinary Niger bridge we are asked to contribute to its construction. Why then you blame our very energetic and industrious youths? This is how true leaders stand up for their people. We are known for our bravery and resilience. FG has failed us and our desire to quit the contraption is borne out of that. Thank goodness this group highlighted on the need to restructure Nigeria. This may be the only saving grace for a united Nigeria however time has barely ran out for that. Finally, I wish to thank ndi Anioma for always being pioneers in Igbo matters. I sincerely respect the vanguard position you have been taking for a very long time. I salute your courage. The enemies tried to put a wedge between us and they almost succeeded but for the mercies of Chukwu Abiama. My prayer is that all our people will come together from the deep fringes of Igbanke to the coastal waters of Opobo and Bonny. AlaIgbo is great and shall continue to be. Be proud of your ancestry but do not look condescending on any one. Udo dili unu. |
obailala:Everyone is entitled to his opinion. I have no problem with an opponent telling me he wants no good for me but when an enemy disguises as a brother to hoodwink my relatives, it becomes imperative of me to expose and keep him at bay from our gathering. You are a hypocrite. Any day I stumble on any post of yours where you claim to be Igbo again, I'll lay the curse and you shall see it come to pass before your very eyes. You can investigate me too. |
