junkerhill: my sister, you don't need affidavit of support. The embassy no longer ask for it from DV immigrants.
Its not important but you can get it to be on a safer side because some COs do ask of it, but going without it can not lead to your visa denial.

You don't need Affidavit Of Support at all. Don't disturb yourself. You re on the safer side without it.

daddykelly: yea am relaxed now,my oga @ the top(God) has done it..i moved yesterday evening from okota to onikan in order not to miss the interview...i passed through hell because the guy i was directed to don't even have a wrapper not to talk of carpet or mattrass to sleep on,while i dey sleep 4 under air condition 4 my uncle house @ okota....i have to borrow wrapper from his neigbour because there is no way i can go back to okota @ that time,so i endured.
I woke up around 3:13am because i was nt comfortable,started browsing(if u check u'll see my post around 3:33am).
I arrived @ the embassy like 15 minutes to 5(i was the 1st person there),waited until 6:00am a police man came and scanned us.later we were told to line up(i was no3 in immigrant queue).submitted 2nl only and passed through security checks(very tight).
Paid my dv fee 330 dollars(i paid in dollars) @ window 22.
Later called to submit my documents @ window 17.
After 5 interviews i was called to window 14(a cute white guy),he dint even tell me i just put my hanh there take finger print,the interview went thus:

ksjlar: To follow up on what you said, I will also like to caution us all. If you try to develop personally and visit a school/college/career development center etc., some of these institutions are interested in just locking you in to get you financial aid. Please be careful with any school you commit to. Example, borrowing 20.000 dollars to go on a one year program will leave you paying for student loan for 10 years. So please invest in programs that will bring good returns both monetary and personal development.

Even if you indicate it in your DS230. Its not needed but you can take it along to clear your mind.

1.international passport(with photocopy of data page).
2.police report(not photocopied).
3.medicals(sealed).
4.original waec result certificate(with photocopy).
5.1st and 2nl(not photocopied).
6.npc birth the short 1 and the small card given at birth
(with photocopy).
7.testimonial from ss1 to ss3(with photocopy).
8.passports
other auxilliary documents include:
1.letter of introduction from my hod.
2.jsce cert.
3.school i.d
4.email correspondence with kcc on name correction.
5.school fees receipts from yr 1 to final yr.
6.neco statement of result(i already had 9 credits in waec, just in case if asked).

Uhm, glory be to God in the highest. After submiting documents, I wait for my number to be called. But the two first male COS at window 14 n 15 started from B417 upward. But mine is B403. I shocked and started remembering all the informations and advise I tapped from my E-family. Immdiately one female CO open window 16 and called B402. I'm crazy, becos she was tough. I hope in God for the best. B402 interview last for 30 mins. Guess what? My number beeped at window 14 a looking handsome man.

pstadabi: Sorry for the delay of my testimony...i was totally drunk yesterday ....my E-Family yesterday was tougher than ever its only three window that interview yesterday but window 16 that devil white lady and window 15 that tallest talker-thief white guy was busy denying pple..... well i just thank God for divine mercy that work for me yesterday.....Here is the interview goes... we were called at 7am and they started there normally security check....my pple Yankee security is too tight we just dey go frm one check point to another like say person carry exhibit.. ...After the successful of the security checking which is face one i proceed to the main hall and my number was called at window 20 where a black Nigerian guy was attending to me ...then after that i proceed to pay my money which is 330 dollar... then i finished those one which is face two as usual then i went to sit waiting for my number to be called..... the fist window that started is that God fearing white guy in window 14... i swear the guy na God sent to nigeria ...and after window 15 joined him and later that witch lady window 16 jst dey appear like invisble...To God be the glory my number was beep at window 14..i beg my body shake first ooooooooo...so here is the interview

Interview appointment was 10am today and it was successful; After going through all security checks and making necessary payments, we were called at window 20 to submit only 1 passport photograph, 1 photocopy and original of only birth certificates for 5 of us and marriage certificate. The guy at window 20 never even demanded for our academic credentials, and we wondered why?
We waited until our ticket number beeped!
CO: Good afternoon

US: We are fine thank you, and you? He replied: very good
CO: Please do your thumb prints on the machine - we both did that
CO: Please raise your right hands and promise to .....
CO: To my wife, you are the principal applicant..... my wife answered yes
US: We remained standing with the kids for the interview. I was not asked to go and sit down with the kids

INTERVIEW PROPER

My wife: Answered
CO: Do you have any document for this
My wife: She presents Original and 1 photocopy
CO: Do you have WAEC?
My wife: Yes, and presents her Original WAEC and 1 photocopy
CO: Everything is good, pulls out white paper and hands over to us!

Note: We had 2 birth certificates; the NPC, and the normal birth certificate for myself and my wife. The man at windows 20 looked at both, but choose the NPC. He remarked : your NPC certificate is a certified one (authenticated), and I said yes.
We prepared so hard; asked ourselves questions and even carried 2 big albums for courtship, introduction and wedding, but CO never asked us to present any album and only asked us 2 questions during the interview proper as highlighted above. We can clearly see God's favor and hands in our interview.
GENERAL ADVICE TO ALL: Please, let's not forget our God when we get to the U.S. When things are rosy, let's learn to hold on to God at such times more than when we encounter problems.

I got to the embassy, at about 5:10am and waited till they called in 6.30 non-immigrant and 7.00am immigrant visas and did the normal process of document submission and got in to pay my visa fee and then I sat waiting on my number to be called.
To be honest I cannot remember the window I was called to after a couple of hours but behold it was this cute and nice gentleman that the lord sent and he started with the interview.
CO: Are you Ata......
ME: I mmediately completed my name for him and he smiled.
CO: Please sign your DSP form, did the oath taking and finger print stuff...
ME: Did all required.
CO: what's your highest qualification?
ME: BA ........
CO: What year did you finish?
ME: Told him the exact year while he was going thru as I answered each question.
CO: What have you been doing Since you graduated?
ME: Told him, couldn't get a job so I worked with my mum and eventually opened a boutique, made him understand I wore pretty much what I sell so he smiled.
CO: Have you served the NYSC?
ME: Yes I have and told him what year.
CO: What was your primary assignment about?
ME: Told him was secretary to the local government between my year of service and my duties and he smiled as usual.

It was not what I prepared for but what I expected and prayed for. KCC confirmed receiving our updated forms last year October and promised review. me and my wife work in the East and would like to plan well for our medicals/police report, due to our tight working condition, we plan doing our medicals on a Saturday since and hope i can receive my wife's medical result on her behalf. would like to know if police report can also be done on a Saturday. if no and considering my wife's condition, is it possible to do police report on her behalf without her coming to lagos physically on weekdays? one luv e-family!

Why re you in haste to do Medical when you are not current yet. Do Medical and Police report when its 2 weeks to your interview.

My experience goes thus:
I got to the american embassy around 6am and we all waited outside before a man came outside to arrange us..immigrants and non immigrants.I immediately joined the immigrant line..and we submit d appointment letter..after that we went thru all d security checks and finally got inside the building at exactly 7am..I headed to pay window20 where d cashier was..after payin 54500 I was called to submit my docs and I went back to my sit and we where all waiting for the CO's to show up..during dis time I doscovered the black angel was at the non immigrants section same with the lady in window16...a white guy showed up in window14 and he started interviewing..due to all his interview I prayed to be interviewed by him then on the second thots I jus told God dat any CO that call my number(B410) must grant my visa..after like 30 mins another guy showed up in window 15 and started interviewing selectees too..after about 2hrs of waiting I saw d guy on window 15 with my docs and he was goin thru it and nodding his head den after about 5mins my number beeped on his window...I panicked a little cos d guy denied a couple and another young man..I braced myself and went up to his window and d interview started
