Yes, its OK to woo a lady at Church, but after Church service precisely. Usually people mingle after Church, say hi to friends, et al. Few months back, i met a Nigerian guy at Church that said he's been closely watching me for about a month, he knows where I sit, what car I drive, etc. I'm already taken but it was easier for us to become friends because we met at Church. Nice guy thoughThere's no harm in trying. If you see what you like then go for it! I think that people are more friendly and willing to listen at Church than most places. Mind you, some ladies come to Church looking for Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now (depending on age and level of desperation) ha ha ha |
LOL Only a hypocrite knows another hypocrite! Whilst no one is perfect, its pathetic that anyone would justify driving under the influence. Only a 'silly' person would neglect plans for a designated driver thereby putting innocent people at risk with a ridiculous excuse that all Nigerian adults drink and drive. What a joke! I guess the slogan, "Drink, drive and go to jail" is foreign to some people. Shakes head with pity. |
coolkris: our presidents buy private jets our pastors buy private jets yet they cant provide helicopters for emergency rescue services..Sad truth. We know all fingers are not equal. They cant provide helicopters for EMS, but they can quickly obtain visas to send injured victims to top notch hospitals outside Nigeria. As we manage these bad roads, let us also be thankful for our lives. You can never tell if the driver in the opposite direction is insane or drunk *sigh* |
When I visited Nigeria some years back, my friends laughed at me for driving so slow and carefully like a roach. Why would anyone in their right minds speed on these terrible roads with no effective emergency service to rescue injured persons? Na so i crawl like cockroach till my vacation was over. Its by the grace of God that we are alive. Let us use the wisdom that God has blessed us with. Don't drink and drive .... don't speed excessively... No hurry in life! Please let us take it easy. |

Cos this fees...I've made some searches, but still not sure how it work for international student.I knw SAT is neccessary. dtabimbola: hello house, pls I need ur advice. My F1 -interview is upper week, I just discovered that d address on my online GRE score printout ... All carried my brother Address in U.S, because he did all d payment for me.Sign in to your GRE account online and edit your address before printing. You can edit it as much as you want. payne4real: hi,my interview is next week, i need someone to drill me on visa interview question.thanksNo one would be able to 'drill' you because everyone's case is different. You can make up sample answers to see where you're at. Are you looking for a list of possible interview questions? |
imperiouxx: Do you know that twice, the western union system only accepts US address from me?Loool to catch you if there's a fraud. |
Snazzygirl: Hello House, Is it possible to make sevis payment without the I-20? I know my sevis I-20 number but I haven't received my I-20. Also, is it ok to write naija address on the western union quick pay form since the payment will be made outside Nigerian? Thank u.Yes you can if you have the right sevis number. I paid in the US with a Nigerian address so I'll say yes. |
ollyboy1: @ yvete: Thank you. I will be expecting from you and also what his response was if atall they asked from him then if his family would be joining him. Thank you.Sorry for the late response. Here's what he said, its always advisable for all dependents to apply at the same time with the F1 applicant if he wants them to come over any time. There is a high chance that you guys will get through because they don't expect couples to stay apart. If your family interview at different times, they may screw you more for no responsible man would leave his family behind. You need to state that adequate preparation has been made for their upkeep for the time you'll be away. They asked why he's not traveling with his family at this time and he said that he wanted to take them along, but doesn't want to disrupt his wife's ongoing certification course and she's also working as an independent contractor with a company( <<He said he made this up anyways). When its complete, she can come over for a visit and take a rest because she's been working so hard all these years. When she went for her interview, her answers were similar to her husbands. They asked questions to verify if she was really doing any certification course at that time. Hope this helps. If you can afford it, go as a family. They can always join you later anyways. IMO |
emmanuelkim: seedord247 why did you say am 90 percent close?secondly i printed the receipt, when i was showing her, she did not look at it, she just take the DS160 that my passport was staple on and My GT Bank visa fee receipt First, verify it online that it shows paid. Hope your payment is not over 1 year. |
Square65: Yes, of course they will! even if it's just for a visit (we all know it won't be 'just a visit'). and if they ask when? (they shouldn't anyway) tell them - anytime after you have settled down and that you are still planning although nothing has been chiseled in stone yet. Trust me, if u say your family isnt joining you, they would start wondering if you are a family man at all . . . that's how I see it anyway.Seconded. @Ollyboy1 :- Sorry, I don't want to advise you on something I don't really know much about. I'll ask a Church member how he brought his wife. He graduated this May '12, but the wife joined him in Dec '11 with their daughter. Whatever he says, I'll let you know after Church tonight. sanciro: my HND of a thing which i cant do a graduate programme wiv it for masters.I just want to ask the house that is there any school in USA that offer a year topup programme to convert my HND to Degree like the one in university of sunderland,UK. Will be very glad if the house could respond to this ASAP.@Sanciro :- Go back to page 138 and read the comment about the Second bachelors to Masters program. There's also an interview in part 2 with a similar experience (HND - Bachelors). |
ronakoks: I really don't know, but my sponsor bank statement had funds that is more than 2x the cost of study per year.Yea, its annoying really. Not to discourage you, but I'm not a fan of changing consulates because the record is centrally located in a computer system. What matters is working against the reason for denial which could be presumption of immigrant intent. Read this interview below. I sincerely hope changing consulates don't raise eyebrows. (Not mine...copied from a previous interview) VO: Why MBA when you are in Business? Me: Ma’am I think MBA will not help me enhance my knowledge but will also help me polish my skills as I plan to work in my fathers business after my Masters. VO: I’m Sorry I am not convinced Me: OK Thankyou Second time I applied on 16th July,2012 and this time it was young man. After passing my documents, the VO stared at the screen for around 2 minutes, reading the previous comments and then started on VO: Ok, so I see you were interviewed by my colleague last week Me: Yes Sir VO: So, what went wrong? Me: I could not convince the VO that I was a credible F1 Student VO: How many universities you applied to? Me: Five universities VO: Ok, but you said three universities in your previous interview? Me: I mean I applied to three universities only, but Ive sent my GMAT scores to five universities VO: I’m sorry I cannot issue you a visa, I do not see any change in your profile You'd have to answer your next questions thoughtfully and carefully emphasizing ties like the need for experienced ...(who is paying for study? My Mum, then explain what she does confidently, like she's capable). You didn't do poorly at your interview, but you don't know what the first VO wrote on their system so you can work against that. |
ronakoks: I was at abuja cousulate on monday. I was denied the F1. Was interviwed by one very young, deceptively prettey and calm VO at window 6. They say she's new at the embassy and actually she was taking her time and asking many questions and not really issuing F1, like someone who is trying to be meticulus cos of her inexperience . I hope she's not an intern or somethin at DHS cos there was a point durin my interveiwe wen another young lady came to her boot as if to come check on her to see how shes doin on the job and they were looking at my i2o and bank statement and smiling and nodding there heads at each other and sayin somethin to each other as if in the process of learnin or something. I felt really sad cos i was kinda prepared for this interview. At least i really prepped for the main F1 questions. I cant even totally recall how everything that went down. I have paid another visa fee and booked another appointment. Fortunately, these days there are so many available dates on the portal.Don't give up. You did well on your interview. I hope she wasn't trying to impress her supervisor (the other woman). Sometimes, you never know what works for some VO. Try again, but give reasonable time in-between. I hope the denial has nothing to do with your bank statement/sponsor. |
ollyboy1: @ yvete: Thank you. My school gave me international transfer and its 48 months they wrote on my I-20 and I wrote the same 48 months on the ds160. Can you pls expanciate on that. What should I tell them at the embassy. Thank youIts my pleasure. From what I learned, 24 months seems ideal for International transfer. If you've got a BA/BS, I'd say 24 months because you're not a freshman, but OND/Diploma may take a little longer. You don't need to edit your ds-160 if you've submitted it with 48months. I donno if you're a married male/female, but your spouse may join you later with the F2. Preferably about a semester to a year later. However, you just never know what may work out for you! Good-luck. |
jchatty: Pls my school did not require for GRE, they only ask for toefl. I've done the said toefl exam. But my fear is d embassy. Should I write d GRE and like how many weeks d result will come out.Are you writing SAT and GRE?? You asked about SAT before. Anyways, GRE test scores will be out 2 weeks after you take the test. Since you didn't know about the GRE, you might take a shot at the interview without it, but with a waiver/letter from the school and proof that you're academically prepared (college diploma, certifications, etc). God forbid you're denied, take the test and wait till Summer or Fall '13. |
Mamacita007: Im not sure abt his I-20 buh i'll find out from him. I know the bachelors and masters plan all together is for 2years plus. He's not married.@Ollyboy1 The duration on I-20 is 30 months for both programs which is correct, but I put 24 months on the ds160. |

Its funny how people get so emotional online. Bigfrancis did well, but Ceejay needs to research the admission process on his own. Let's encourage newbies to read this thread from part 1. There's so much information that would help. Some people ask questions that may have been discussed just a few posts back. Would you rather repeat the same info over & over? Everyone means well and I don't see anything wrong or rude with kpoli's comment. Maybe he should mind his business, I guess. |
kpolli: No dey fear me too, I get exam on that day and if holiday dey embassy, no dey country then something is wrongTRUE TRUE!!! Success in your exams! |
Seunbunmi: @Yvete ![]() Whew! |
@Seunbunmi Are you already in the US? If No, maybe you should focus on the visa first. If Yes, are you already enrolled at Murray State? You wanna relocate from Kentucky to Texas or are you looking for any affordable community College? You'd have to answer before I can explain the transfer process (be careful especially if you're transferring undergraduate credits to another state). |
Seunbunmi: Thank you so much, pls can u send me ur email, i need information on transfering to houston community college from murray state university. my email is benjamin_tosin@yahoo.com thanks once again. pls kindly reply@Seunbunmi: I got your message. Please kindly edit your lengthy post so others don't miss relevant information on this thread. I'll ask the mod to hide it. Thanks @Mamacita & @Payne4real What's up with this interview date thing? Girl you need to chill . I expect the Embassy to notify you of any changes to your appointment. |
azzima: for your info, I was a police officer [NYPD] for several years and I saw what our own people do to our name regularly even if they grew up in NY like I did.I just have an issue with the quick insinuation that because he was a SEMI-PRO [they make around $400 a week]player and a nigerian so it must be racism. Come on now.How dare you call me names just cos you disagree?? Did you say "for my info"??, Like WT-F?? I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR WORK HISTORY! Your twisted brain cells cannot comprehend simple English sentences that's why you got kicked out of the Police Dept (Who hired your lying behind? If you and "your people" with bad upbringing burgled houses in NY, not all Nigerians across the US will. ... don't make silly responses to me again! Need to unfollow this post ASAP! What a waste of my time replying an ignoramus. You slowpoke! |
Hey Nairalanders was at abuja embassy 2day for my F1 visa interview. VO: So yu gonna study Me: Yes at Miss state university And then she started staring at me and smiling and am thinking"Common ask me Question' When i saw she wasn't asking i started talking Me: I choose to study @ Miss st uni cos its MPH prog will provide me with an international perspective of public health practice tru its short term faculty led study away program while taking the course 'Tropical pub Health for International health workers' Also MSU presents some outstanding public health facilities such as its ozarks pub health institute and...(Cuts in) Vo: promise me you gonna sponsor ya sisters too that's our deal hmm Me: yea ma..heheheheheeheh(#laughin#) VO: okay you gonna pick up ya visa on monday and hands ova som slip. Me: thank you ma....
You must be so handsome that she starred and smiled as you worked your magic. Lol #Charmer ... Congrats! |
kpolli: Yvete, I have a job position for you. . . . Your goodHaha! Mucho dinero ... If money is involved, Heck yea! ![]() imperiouxx: Damn! I got this late because I didn't check on NL for hours. I did 4 hours ago for a friend who sent money to me today through western union from Tbilisi, Georgia Republic. I went to supersave where did the first one and it was so easy because all the info I entered for the first one in April popped up and we did edit and send the money.... within 5 minutes done. awwww .. would have saved me some good money. Wanted to inbox you on Facebook, but I assumed that it can't be done over here. Anyways, I need a movie (a good one this time). |
Blue Magic: I am a black Nigerian Living in America. I'd shoot any1 black, white, brown, purple........ Nigerian or non Nigerian breaking into my house or trying to break into my house. & yes i live in Texas. This is how we roll. I don't give a rat a$$ where u 4rm jst don't come looking 4 trouble or u gonna get wat u looking.Wow! Please don't roll like that. Death is not nice. |
rusher14: Perhaps the guy was a tad bit rude but at least he is trying to apply reason rather than sentiments. Time would tell if indeed the guy was trying to burgle or a victim of some unfortunate shooting. There's been nothing to make us know if the shooter is White so jumping to conclusions would be presumptuous . RIP and may justice prevail.Yea, I get it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm no a.$.$ kisser to anyone that is condescending just cos' they disagree. Mature minds argue politely. ----------- Intelligent critics: Where did you read the comment that said he was killed cos' he's Nigerian? I don't believe a Nigerian will try to burgle a home in Plano - its my opinion(doubt). Just as I'll doubt that a Nigerian is seen begging alms on the streets of TX. (Reason: Never heard of such). If the topic says that a 29 year old Nigerian committed a million dollar fraud, I'll assume its true. Likewise, Residents don't need info on color for us to know those that own rampant indecencies like shooting on property. It bad cos its stereotypical anyways (Everyone can assume/presume things about communities they reside in, wrong/right). What happened to dialing 911? Obama, "the west" and "rednecks" are brought into this too? Get a Dictionary(Nationality vs race)&(doubt vs denial)&(The West vs TX).Only a thief knows how another thief thinks or acts. Some people really need to chill. Nobody made you a ruler over anyone's thoughts. |
azzima: What should be so untrue about this news? A former college basketballer cannot commit the crime?.even former nba ballers commit worse crime.is it because he was Nigerian?I have seen many Nigerians commit greater crimes.just because he played SEMI-PRO doesn't mean the crime cannot be commited. I pray that this story is not so but the dumb reasons ppl are giving that because he was Nigerian and a Baller so the story shouldn't be true.RIP man.And a dumber person like you should learn to be polite. Ain't you one of those Nigerians that commit greater crimes? Typical Nigerian mentality of unnecessary rudeness. You better thread carefully! |
but it was easier for us to become friends because we met at Church. Nice guy though
