CareerRe: Logistics Or Supply Chain Management by Yvete(f):
Why does your MS have Technology? How is it different if it were Supply Chain Management or Engineering?
Would you want to enlighten me?
The coursework is more technical in Engineering which is advantageous to those that don't have an academic background in Supply Chain/Logistics as opposed to SCM. Its not just managerial, but practical too with field experience. I luckily got a job in Supply Chain so I decided to build a career in it.

No. Cancel then re-schedule. Did you check your spam box? They usually send notifications of any changes to ones appointment.

My Bad! Re-sent. I also added 3 s*-a*-t* stuff. You need to have continuous access to a PC/Laptop. Otherwise, I advise that you purchase one SAT textbook and maybe add Cliffnotes Quantitative for Standardized Tests (Great lil Book - I used it to prepare for SAT years back and used it again last year for GRE).

Please I need a reputable tailor/designer/patternist all-in-one, in Lagos. Can anyone recommend <<? I need someone with proven work and craftsmanship in delivering high quality wears.

Be kind NOT to recommend you Sis/Aunty/neighbor if they're still "learning work" grin Thanks.
FashionRe: Tips On Buying A Well Fitting Bra by Yvete(f): 11:13am On Dec 12, 2012
Did I hear Victoria Secret? LOL. I think they hire inexperienced young ladies that don't know the difference between fit/comfort and ooh its looks pretty.

If you reside in NIG, use the tape method yourself, you cannot go wrong. In the US, I use the professional bra fitters at Nordstroms and their measurements confirm my home measurements. Also wear your bra at the first row. As it gets older you can move closer - to fit better. Thats why most bras have 2-3 rows.

shoggie: . Big thanks to you out there for your redoubtable benevolent suggestions. Am more than happiness alone.
My I-20 truely states 'family type'as sponsor. But I want to ask, how can I fill another DS-160 and submit it to replace the former one I ignorantly submitted before I came across this Blog if at all I want to use my uncle as my sponsor?
shoggie: . Yes, if my brother owns will not work on time as my uncles own(Dr. & Dr. Mrs XYZ.)as lecturers seem more appealing to me now than my brother's who bears same name as mine. Thanks for your remarks on that word!
Sure enough! Go ahead and use your Uncles personal account. I guess y'all bear the same last name so that should work. Take the new DS-160 with you to the Embassy. Do NOT MENTION THAT YOU HAVE NO WORK EXPERIENCE shocked shocked Your NYSC experience should relate to your undergad degree, at least. I hope you come back with a testimony grin Success stories are sweeeT.

loool Seriously, I had to google the meaning of the bolded above. I wonder how I got into Grad School sef. Barron's GRE vocab didn't help much.

My bad, I didn't understand your question. Initially you wanted to use your brother, but now you've decided to use your uncle as your sponsor?

Yea, I'll forward the PDF file to your email. I highlighted the ones applicable for Undergrads in the US from which you'd have to find the ones for IT. Fall admission is by April so enjoy the holidays and start studying for SAT. You'll get the visa next time.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by Yvete(f):
shoggie: My questions now is can I use the same one with September dates for my interview or I should try and seek other means but I have already specified on my DS-160 that my brother will be my sponsor? What will be implications of mentioning another person as a sponsor in addition to my brother should they asked for my sponsor? Gurus in the house help me out as I am very new to all this visa stuffs though I have read almost all the posts now and more comfortable than I do before end of last month when I came across this Blog.I should be obliged to your response in advance. Waiting!!!!
Jimtosam is correct.

If your brother cannot raise enough money before your interview, try to find somebody else to use as a sponsor (preferably a family member) and make up a believable story that answers why they're sponsoring you. Then fill another DS-160. This would work if your I-20 states 'family' as sponsor. If all effort fails, go with the old bank statement from September and PRAY. Its better than nothing.

RomanceRe: How Many Times Has Your Heart Been Broken? by Yvete(f):
Never been heartbroken....

Usually, I'm very easy-going and approachable, but the love is hard to give so when in doubt, I cut off all communication without looking back. .... And then, another man is heartbroken.

I took a long hiatus off dating and focused on God, till I met someone I really love. He's helped me grow emotionally and address my fears. Great man!

Bastion318: Hi fellow nairalanders my f1 visa was recently approved! I’m sorry this is coming late… I had issues with my being able to post it. I have gained so much from this thread and felt it would be selfish not to give my out quota back even it’s small. My interview was at Abuja by 8 a.m. I got there around some minutes before 8.
The interview was short, and my final arguments were not too convincing. I have a feeling that the vo was confused on whether to give me or not but glory be to the God who holds the heart of Kings in his hand and directs it like a river in whatever direction he pleases. All the people I saw that were interviewed before me were denied (as much as I know; maybe I’m wrong) but thanks be to God my case was different.
Congrats!!!

RomanceRe: I Need Advice! by Yvete(f):
Princess1982: I am dating a man from Nigeria and our relationship is starting to get serious so sometime here in the near future one of us is going to have to relocate. I am gainfully employed here in the US and I make enough to take care of both of us until he can find employment. In Nigeria he owns a business and his business is doing well and he too could support both of us. He as no desire to move to the US and he insists that things would be better for us in Nigeria. When I think of Nigeria I think of a country stricken by extreme poverty and corruption but he insist that they things I hear are only partly true. I was on a brief visit to Nigeria last year but I got the feeling he was only showing me the best Nigeria had to offer. So anybody who has lived in both the US and Nigeria or even just Nigeria why or why isn't Nigeria a great place to live?
Girl, I was once in your shoes. Met my fiancé on FB (secret - Lied to everyone that we used to be friends way back). I did the trips to Naija thing but Obudu cattle ranch, Radisson blu et al is blahh. I psyched him to come over for a Masters to see how it works for us because I'm willing to move back to Nigeria later, in the future NOT NOW! Honestly, Id move if there's a need to. I refuse to leave my job just like that and ive started working towards my masters too. He finally obliged (whew), applied for study leave, got a students visa ... the rest is history. Yankee living! Looool.

I understand that your BF has more responsibilities as a business owner so he can't leave just like that unlike mine. Well, nothing in life is guaranteed so you might just take a shot at it though I wouldn't until I've applied for jobs and received offers in Nigeria. Let him visit before you relocate. If there's a dire need for you to move, consider all options and make a wise decision. Everyone's situation is different.

I must confess - I kept my options open though nobody clicked like this man. grin

airroseice: @Yvete Thank a lot for your contributions, I'm not quite sure of the college's (Virginia International Uni) reputation globally or out there in the U.S. but I'll be sure to add my resume to the GRE waiver from the school and so help me God I shall come back with a positive testimony on Thursday. God bless you ma'am.
"Virginia International University (VIU) offers 2 undergraduate programs, 4 graduate programs shocked , 4 undergraduate certificates, and 1 graduate certificate. The university also offers courses in English as a Second Language (ESL). Classes are offered both on-campus and online".
^^
Hope you're ready to defend this school and please mention that you applied to other schools in other states. Go prepared! All the best.

Its quite sad to see that there are limited opportunities for growth in Nigeria. My fiance did Pol. Sci in Nigeria, came to the US to do an MPA. When he saw how much money physical therapists make shocked , he immediately digressed into a DPT program for 3 years and he'll do the MPH later. These A&P classes were so hard for him, but thank God its over. These people make at least $80/hr. Nigeria shouldn't take it for granted. What a waste of skill.
