by order of priority . . . as electricity here is very poor . . . . just about 2 days in a week or for 2 weeks, very pathetic

can someone please advise a good battery to go for? PV manufacturer? charge controller? etc

there are many brands out there and can't seem to make a good choice

Hi, I'm a student looking to invest in an jnverter to aid my online biz.
All I need is an inverter that can carry the load of two laptops and a bulb for 8 hours.
When the laptop battery gets full, the only load would be the bulb until the laptops are low.

Need the price for the total setup using electricity to charge the inverter.
Also need to know the cost of implementing a solar inverter too.
I stay in Unilorin.
The sun there is alright and we do have electricity that lasts up to 14 hours for every 72 hours.

Mr man, what do you mean by spending for God, who told you God is spending money, is God human dat he ll need ur moni, u beta rid ursef d stupid mentality. Udoma already said it, back in the days offering moni is used to cater for the needy and sick. These days u don't have that so it definitely does nt serve it's purpose. There are rarely church projects u ll see around you that benefit the common man, and yes that's what our offering is for, not for God to spend moni, God doesn't need ur moni.

The problem is the cost. Once again, cost:benefit evaluation comes into play. Nothing black or white here. It's true when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. At the same time, one must be shrewd.

I have two flavours of MustPower PowerStar inverters. Both 3kW (24V and 48V). Yes, they both have an idle consumption of about 100W (which curiously reduces as you load them). Both are remarkable performers and have taken everything I've thrown at them. Believe me, I've taken them to the limits and beyond. I did a little splurging on panels and batteries to compensate for the idle consumption difference (and still had money left over, had I gone with the option of a premium inverter). A win-win if you ask me. Sadly, I have no more than 2.5 years worth of experience. As the years tick by, I'll volunteer more info.

contrary to your speculation, the cc war is far from over. remember that i've just had the midnite classic
for about a month and i'm still putting it through its paces. monitoring is still in progress while i continue
tweaking and re-configuring its settings. the tristar on the other hand is what i've had for over 7yrs.
in another month or two, i will update the house on my findings. who knows? perhaps in this space of time,
a game changing happenstance might occur that could spin all that review on its head!

Pretty good controller. Sturdy. I have one. I will volunteer just three comments:

1. Pretty dependable but somehow tend to give issues shortly after expiration of warranty (typically 5 years). Customer service support is fair.
2. Performance-wise, it's just about another option out there. Nothing really outstanding asides coming in different flavours.
3. Pretty pricey. Not sure the cost justifies the performance. For roughly the same price, I'd rather you go for an Outback or preferably a Midnite. One would need a cost:benefit evaluation.

By and large, if your array is 1kW or less, generic brands are okay (marginal difference in power conversion; longevity is a different matter). If 600W or less, you could save money by getting a PWM controller instead (Midnite brat is quite versatile but has DIP switches - a minus of sorts for me).

I agree with all your point especially point number 3, it's unnecessarily pricey for me and nothing special. Review is still open to the house on the schineider controller.

It's a blessing in disguise.
Early this morning, I woke up to see that my overhead water tank stand fell destroying my 2 tanks. It rained heavily yesterday night. The rain was accompanied by heavy wind. Though the concrete stand was not properly constructed and am paying heavily for this. Anyway.. .thats gone
Now I consider this an opportunity to do it better especially when I didn't plan solar water heater in the initial overhead tank stand
I still intend to use concrete with enhanced reinforCement to avert future occurrence.
Now I don't want to rely on what I know basically, I need design ideas from Members.

I am not happy at all as cost of building materials are still not pocket friendly.

Pls keep them coming, sketches and pictures.

That's sad. Concrete stands are very durable and strong when mixed in right proportion(especially for bungalows) , yours was poorly mixed for it to collapse like that... God will provide

2ndly, my big brother is setting up his personal home, and wants to start of with AE, if possible no NEPA at all.
I told him about this site and thread, so he said to ask what it would require and cost if he wants to power the following;

I've checked d fridge model online all to no avail.I disconnected d parallel and used only one batt which indicated full.then with 5 energy saving and 1 led TV.it lasted for just 2hrs.the batts are like 3yrs old tho.but from your calculations does it mean I will need 16hrs to charge only one batt that discharged in 2hrs with minimum load?

For one battery, your charging time ll b 200ah/15a= 13hrs, note dat u can't completely drain a battery, lets say u drain up to 30% of 200ah,u ll have 140ah.
Calculation ll b 140ah/15a= 9hrs

Hello gurus in d house,I just got 4 200ah batteries fairly used that showed 12.5 on a multimeter test box.I also got an emel inverter 12v which I guess its 800watts (about 1.1kva.)the four batts were connected in parallel yesterday.problem is that I have a Samsung digital inverter fridge/freezer which i guess d inverter should carry well.attached here is the fridge's specification.to test, the batteries were charged full after 10mins.so I ran it with d fridge,5 energy saving bulbs and a led TV tho in standby mode(attached is the power specification).
Problem 1-the battery power showed low batt after like 2hrs ie with d fridge
Problem 2-been charging this batteries for like 8hrs now with my 2.4kva gen but hasn't been full yet.nb..I don't have NEPA light yet.
Question 1-what is the charging amp of my inverter as they are no amps written at d back
Question 2-why would it run down in just 2hrs considering that the fridge is inverter technology?and the batteries are four
Question 3-how many hours will I get to charge this 4 batts connected in parallel. Is it 4*6hrs?
Question 4.what is the running wattage of my fridge and TV?
Question 5.-on the inverter what is d meaning of unregulated and regulated mode.and pls confirm if its truely an 800 watts inverter. Thank you all

Your problem is dis, apart from the ba3 wch i want to believe is in good condition, your inverter has a max charging current of about 15amps.you parallel four 200ah ba3s to it accumulating to 800ah/12.
Now let's do d maths 800ah/15a= 53.3hours, about 2days plus to get ur ba3 full. Solution is whatapp 08117398294 let me give you a smart external ba3 charger.
N:B there is no enough info to check consumption of ur fridge except mayb we follow up those serial number n compressor number wch I don't really have d time. Good luck.

Which brand is the best for sealed batteries?
I am leaning away from flooded batteries because my inverter is within the house and it is not well-ventilated. Thanks for your input.
