Everything in your post reeks of international community. David Cameron white, those clowns wearing biafra T shirts are protesting in a Whiteman land far away from realities. Do you think if Biafra were to secede it would be a jovial round table agreement and discussion?

I repeat no sitting president would want his name to be associated with the dissolution of the country he governs in Nigeria. Instead hey would mount severe pressure and pursue you back to your shops and increase your taxes on top.

Biafra is an online message take it or leave it. People can accept it all they want but for now it can't be a reality.

As per the international laws on property and seccesion it's the person who is alive that would ask for property. I tell you if Biafra breaks away all the I gbos living outside biafra will suffer unbelievable losses. 40 years later they would drag the culprits to Hague but then the deed is done.

No president would allow it happen its not a matter of right it's about saving face.

My unlearned opinion.
My dear, no one can put a price tag on freedom and sovereinghty. Sovereignty is worth much more than any amount of Igbo investment in Nigeria. You talked about a round table agreement? I hope Biafra comes by this way because the alternative will be war and even after that war, regardless of who wins, Nigeria will not be able to come back together anyway. BTW, did Nigeria come about through a round table meeting or the bullets of the whiteman? Nigeria is a monumental fraud. The last picture was in May this year in Aba where over 1 million youths turned up at a Biafran event. Most of them wearing white in solidarity with Biafra. So you still think Biafra is an online word? It is now a global movement

I DONT KNOW WHY THE IGBOS WANT TO KILL THEMSELVES OVER BUHARI'S APPOINTMENT. THIS MAN PROMISED CHANGE AND IF IGNORING FEDERAL CHARACTER IN THE APPOINTMENTS DOESN'T EQUATE TO CHANGE FROM OLD WAY OF DOING THINGS THEN WHAT IS CHANGEhuh Y'ALL SHOULD KEEP CRYING AND WEEPING. WE THE YORUBAS INVESTED SO MUCH IN HIS PRESIDENCY BUT WE ARE NOT SCREAMING MARGINALIZATION. IF HE LIKES, LET HIM APPOINT CAMEROONIANS IN ALL POSITION WHAT MATTERS IS THE FULFILMENT OF CAMPAIGN PROMISES AND AN ENABLING ENVIROMENT FOR EVERYONE TO THRIVE. YOU IGBOS VOTED FOR GEJ IN MASS AND YOU ALL SHOULD EXPECT NOTHING IN RETURN. Y'ALL ARE A CONFUSED BUNCH. TODAY U WANT Biafra, THE NEXT DAY U SCREAM MARGINALIZATION FROM THE SAID ZOO AS PROCLAIMED BY YOUR SUICIDE MISSION LEADER NNAMDI KANU. BUHARI CAN CHOOSE 100% NORTHERNERS. NOBODY CARES undecided
Obviously, you still don't know that Nigeria is an illegal entity? Nigeria came about from a gross act of illegality and that why it is a fraud

I don't know what language this is but I am laughing in it. One random woman told you biafra will be and you rush to open a thread about it.

Let me explain why it won't happen..

Biafra would mean a secession of a region from the entity called Nigeria. No sitting president would want that attached to his name so he would by hook or by crook make sure the east remains eastern Nigeria.

The so called biafrans wannabe are all online the hard working igbo man who has business interests and investments in other parts of Nigeria would loose everything and I mean everything. Nobody would want that. Even how many ibis are actually asking for this.
Aren't they the ones still soutin lopsidedness on political appointment which I agree with anyway.

Biafra remains a word online that's it.

Ps maybe they should have thier biafra if they succeed the rest of Nigeria would sit up its time to fly no more crawling.

Also hope nigerdelta ain't part of this biafra.

Just my opinion I might be wrong though
You obviously don't know what is happening these days. There is a groundswell of support for Biafra. Huge swaths of people from the former eastern Nigeria are embracing it on daily basis. You said that no Nigerian president will accept it? That is stale news, a president has no choice but to accept the will of the people same way David Cameron had to grant Scotland a referendum last year. You talked about property of Biafrans in Nigeria. There is international laws which Nigeria must abide by if it is to remain a member of the international community and one them is the unwarranted siezing of assets. No where in the world can a Government sieze the assets of a person just because they not citizens of that country. It is never done. You said Biafra is online word? Look at these pictures and tell me what you see.

And after ruling for 8 years, are you any better off than the Igbos? The Igbos and Yorubas mutually despise each other. They can never team up. As long as Igbos and Yorubas are in one country, they can't friends, they can only be friends in Odua Republic and Biafra

Ojukwu left 2 days before the war ended. There isn't any Igbo man alive who will see any point in him staying back to be slaughtered over a war that was no longer winnable, that would have been totally pointless. I'm glad he left, he lived long enough for the Igbo nation to enjoy him much longer
Politics › Re: Biafra: Britain's Shame by Auberon Waugh by zendy: 10:07am On Sep 02, 2015
A lot of people have this belief that Nigeria defeated Biafra militarily. Far from the truth. What happens in 1970 was actually a 'ceasefire' that was crafted into a surrender. I still say it that the only reason that Nigeria was successful was the involvement of Britain and Russia. It was British warships that enforced the blockade which prevented Ojukwu from acquiring the necessary armaments, supplies and food necessary to prosecute the war. Had Britain stayed neutral,Biafra would have triumphed. Even Gowon said he had no money to fight the war. It was Ojukwu that had the Oil money to fight the war. I laugh when Nigerians 'chest beat' that they defeated Biafra. It's almost like an abled bodied man gloating that they won a fight where the opponent had only one arm. I'm proud of the Biafran soldier who fought gallantly for 3 years despite being outgunned, out manned and against overwhelming odds. The funny thing is that Britain that supported 'one Nigeria' was prepared to let go one of its constituent parts last year. Ojukwu has been vindicated. The self determination that Ojukwu stood on, which sounded like fairy tale back then, is now a recognised right of man

Standing and binding agreement, kwa?? With whom and from where, biko?? On whose terms, conditions and timeline??

So after your people have burnt the Nigerian flag and expressed their rejection of Nigeria, using highly uncomplimentary, insulting terms, they still expect to sit at a negotiating table with authorities of the same country whose flag they have burnt, whose people they have denigrated using inflammatory speeches, and create a 'standing and binding agreement'?? shocked huh I laugh.... in Greek! grin

All your actions and language, are the kind that give rise to hostilities and war. Not to a standing agreement.

Yes, you Igbo are currently building support .... where, biko nu? In Mars?? shocked shocked You are definitely not building that support among non-Igbo Nigerians, within Nigeria or outside it. You are just alienating them, with your insults, vitriol and hate. The word 'mutual respect,' does not exist in your dictionary. undecided Last time I checked, the Jews did not attract support for their cause, using venom and hatred.

You are also attracting disdain for your cause, with the way the Igbo play the blame game, at every turn. You guys should do yourselves a favour. Renounce your Nigerian citizenships. Burn your passports, and become stateless. Maybe the international community you are relying upon to make a case for your cause, will come to your rescue , quicker. Who knows?! shocked

The sentiments that others have towards you was borne out of your attitude towards them. To the rest of us, Nigeria is our home no matter how much you denigrate it. Whatever name you call Lugard does not change the fact that he (and I guess, Flora Shaw by extension) gave our nation the name 'Nigeria,'and till today, it still remains our homeland. sad

All the uncouth language in the world emanating from your brethren, will not change the fact that God has a purpose for every nation, including Nigeria. May His mercies continue to flourish upon our land forever more. undecided
And all of this is to defend the "British business organisation" called Nigeria which was setup by Lugard

The achievements of the Yoruba people isn't in doubt. They have gone very far in education and as captains of industries and even
Politics. When I was in secondary school, I was astonished to read Yoruba history, the Oyo empire and Afonja. I was marvelled because we Igbos never had or built empires. Igbo land was a loose confederation of clans who tenaciously held on to their indepedence.

It is with deep regret that today, the Yoruba man has no iota of self determination. Reading Yoruba history, one would have thought that they would have been at the forefront of an independent Odua Republic so that they can administer their affairs, instead, today the Yoruba man has become a slave of "one Nigeria" and an eternal servant of the North. It beggars belief that a people who once controlled a vast empire that stretched from present day Bini to Togo cannot see past the artificial creation called Nigeria. Not only have Yorubas become slaves of one Nigeria, they even admonish people who seek self determination such as the Igbos when we Igbos mention an independent home land of Biafra. How did things get like this? How did the Yorubas let northerners install an "Emir" in Yorubaland? How come the extent of Yoruba self determination ends at regionalism? How did these people lose their sense of self determination? Most regrettable

So Yesterday, as I was relaxing in my little neighborhood a place located somewhere in the South South region of our country, trying to get some rest and of course receive some fresh air from nature, reminiscing about the happenings of life and also thinking what the future has in stock. Was startled and brought back to reality with cries of War and shouts emanating just outside my gate. Been a curious Individual, I stepped out to have a check on what was actually going on. But to my utter disappointment and bewilderment saw a group of "hungry looking youths" with placards bearing things like "We want Biafra country", "Biafra the land of the Rising Sun" "We are not animals to live in a Zoo" etc. The serenity of the neighborhood was totally desecrated.
Having been following the London based Nnamdi Kanu and his radio station where he dissipates hatred for the Nigerian nation, its leaders, the yorubas, and of course PMB. Clamouring for a Biafran country and instigating hate on some gullible Nigerians. A man who stays comfortably in a foreign country and tries to dictate what happens in Nigeria.
Am still yet to understand where this fight of theirs will lead them to considering the fact that what he and his followers are doing is TREASON. With the five Governors of the South-Eastern states debunking the formation of Biafra. And I must commend PMB on his silence on the matter cos its only when attention is giving to Biafra, will the come stronger but as the saying holds........ Silence is GOLDEN.

To Nnamdi Kanu and his supporters, You can win the fight/battle in a locality, but you can't win the WAR.
You can deceive a section of Nigerians, but you can't deceive all Nigerians.

Just the same way you have the right to believe in "One Nigeria" is the same way another set of people have the right to believe in "one Biafra". Your rights stop where another mans rights starts. At least you saw some people freely protesting and agitating for a future country called Biafra, did your ancestors ever agitate for 'Nigeria' or did Luagard come from Britain to force them into Nigeria at gun point? Biafra is more legitimate than Nigeria because it is native Africans that are clamouring for it, unlike your 'one Nigeria' which is just an artificial creation of the White man. When the time comes for a referendum, urge your part of the SS to vote to stay in Nigeria. Not all of what you call 'SS' will be part of Biafra and nobody will force anyone into anything

This is a lesson before it gets out of hand.
How come you never seem to see beyond your nose? Was it Nnamdi Kanu who killed those three people? (assuming the news is actually true)

These people were exercising their contitutionally guaranteed right to free speech and freedom of association by going out to canvass and solicit for Biafra. They were not armed, they were peaceful. The same security outfit that swore to protect them came and gunned them down. You are not talking about the murder of unarmed civilians, what you are talking about is Nnamdi Kanu? If we just wake up one morning to find out that Northerners and Southerners have swapped location, Nigeria will disintegrate by the next Senate meeting, courtesy the Northerners.
That's the reality these Yoruba people shouting 'Biafra' never want to face. If the North had Oil, they would have seceded long time ago and there would be no Nigeria. Anyone shouting "One Nigeria" is just someone who is looking for Oil money.

NO! Oron will not be a part of Biafra. I support autonomy for every tribe/nation including igbo,Oron,Yoruba,Nupe,Efik,Ejagham,Itsekiri,Ogoni,Ijaw,Hausa,Ebira,Tiv,Idoma,Urhobo,Igala,Gwari,Fulani,Ibibio,Annang,Kanuri,Esan,Andoni,Ikwerri, etc.
Every nation should be autonomous and trade with each other.Nations should only merge willingly ,have joint millitary for defense or decide if they want to remain a part of Nigeria.
The selfish Biafran ideology does not come across as the same as Oron's ideology I've described above. And who told you that Oron is small? is Nigeria as developed as Monaco,Taiwan or Singapore? Can Nigeria defeat Singapore in a war?Qatar is just the same size as Akwa Ibom.Oron nation Territory is three times larger than Singapore and has a potential for expansion by river and ocean land reclamation. There are 16 nations way smaller than Oron. Size has nothing do with it. Vatican city (Rome ) is just 100 acres and yet it's so popular. Monaco is so small @400 acres and even has no space for airport. Barbados,Bahamas,ST Kitts&Nevis, etc. are small nations .Plus,Oron is one of the wealthiest nations in the world if it were autonomous.
Fight for your igbo nation and don't include or worry about any other nation, unless the nation willingly joins you. If majority of ibibios or lets say Idoma or Annang vote to join you, then that's their choice. Majority of Oronians don't even want to be with their linguistic neighbors Ibibio and annang ,and sure as hell Igbos are clearly out of the question. The furthest Oron would go will be to form a country with their linguistic neighbors,Efiks, ibibio, and Annang. But they all must remain autonomous within the country.
I find some of you guys frustrating and irritating sometimes.Your mental process is simply inferior and difficult for me to communicate with..
You still missed the point that prince was trying to make to you. I support Biafra and God knows that Igbos will not force anyone into Biafra against their will. But if the Oron nation or any other minority in the SS wants autonomy, how will they ever get it in Nigeria? Can the Oron nation take on the Northerners/Yorubas alone? Doesn't it make far more sense to secede with Igbos, then at a later date, demand your own autonomy? Let me sound a note of warning to the Niger-Delta people. We Igbos are going to leave Nigeria one day and we will take along with us those minorities that agree to go with us. But for those of you who decide to stay back in Nigeria, you will eternally remain slaves of the Hausa-Fulani Northern Oligarchy. God knows that they will never let you people go and whatever autonomy you hoped for will be forever gone because quite Franky, you will not have the numbers to ever fight them

if i was ojukwu, i would have killed myself after i lost the battle.
Led over 2 million people to their death and the rest to economic penury.

What igbos forget is the cause of the war was actually the military coup they committed against other tribes!

how could igbos possibly do that and expect to get away with it>>huh
I want to start by saying that hiring mercenaries in times of war is normal. There are foreign soldiers who are trained in special combat situations such as jungle warfare, amphibious fighting and gurreilla tactics which the local army may not have knowledge of. Ojukwu and Gowon both hired mercenaries. A lot of ignorant people blame Ojukwu for the war as if he started it. Some even say he should have stayed back to be slaughtered and that he was a coward for fleeing. It's just unfortunate that the present generation do not know the history of Nigeria or the war. The first coup in Nigeria was called an 'Igbo coup' but it was not. People like Ojukwu and Ironsi were the ones who fought to put that coup down. Six months later, the northerners did their own coup and killed over 300 eastern Soldiers. As if that was not enough, they now went on to kill over 50,000 eastern civilians, men, women, children, babies. Children drowned in wells, pregnant women's bellies ripped open, men beheaded, young girls raped. It is easy for people to chant "one Nigeria" if these things are happening to other people and not them. When all of this happend, Ojukwu had a moral obligation to protect his people from death. Northerners conducted a bloody coup under Murtala, did anyone kill 50,000 of their people? No. Middle belters conducted a bloody coup under Dimka, did anyone kill 50,000 of their people? No. The SS did a bloody coup under major Orkah, did anyone kill 50,000 SS people? No. But when it comes to Igbos, that's when every body feels like going on a killing spree. Ojukwu was justified in fighting to protect his people. It was the Government of Nigeria that killed those two million people all because they wanted oil. That's the real reason the war was fought, it had nothing to do with keeping Nigeria one as it had with not allowing Ojukwu go with the oil. Finally, on matter of Ojukwu fleeing. I often ask people, what would have been the point of Ojukwu killing himself or staying back to be killed over a war he had already lost? What would this have achieved? Nobody has been able to answer me to this day. All that would have happened would have been that Ojukwus body would have been paraded publicly and made a jest of and the same people who now call Ojukwu a coward for fleeing at the end of the war would have been calling him a fool for staying back to be killed like a Chicken. We Igbos love Ojukwu for fighting for our liberation and freedom. He was the only one till date who fearlessly stood to Northern domination when all others succumbed. He was a great man who stood by his people in difficult times. He was the greatest Igbo man I will ever seee in my life time

I'm pleasantly surprised that the OP, an Igbo man born and raised in Lagos and married to a Yoruba woman, has still kept an open mind about Nigeria and Biafra. Many 'Nigerians' are closed minded people who cannot see beyond the 'colonial handcuffs' that Lugard put them into in the name of "Nigeria". In my experience, it is usually Igbos who are born or raised outside Igbo land in places like Lagos are the ones who don't support Biafra. Some of them don't even know how to get to their villages in the east to talk about Biafra. One of the reasons why I support Biafra is this increasing generation of Igbos raised outside Igbo land who are slowly losing their identity. They must be given a new platform to rediscover themselves. When it comes to the wider scheme of things, there is argument in the fact that it is the undisputed right of the Igbo people to decide for themselves if they want be Nigerian or not. So there is realy no argument about Biafra.

I'm an Igbo man by birth

I'm a Biafran by free choice

I'm a Nigerian "by force"
