Ol boy, trust me ojukwu’s plan for odua republic is just highly repugnant to the yorubas that all the weaponry in the world would not suffice for ojukwu to determine what goes on in yorubaland.

Yep just as the yorubas too are well within their rights to jump off the fence and fight for the territorial integrity of the homeland. However, you mischievous souls termed it as the yorubas joining their northern masters to kill you ibos.

And so? That was ojukwu’s fall-back plan as it’s obvious that the northerners would not lay their precious lives on the line to defend yorubaland. Ojukwu initially thought he could stage-manage the yorubas into a suicidal uprising against the northern Nigerian soldiers stationed in the region but when yorubas failed to swallow his bait, he decided to make an audacious surprise offensive for Lagos.

By “many”, I guess you mean, biafrans? oh well, more fools them, then. They are free to believe whatever gives them a Ha.rd-on.

IMPOSSICANT!!! Not if he’s is going to be teleguided by ojukwu from enugu.

And why I wonder , are you so concerned with whose arse the yorubas opt to kiss? The fact of the matter here is, the yorubas do not want to kiss your dirty flattie’s arse. Btw, whose arse are the ibos kissing, currently?
There seems to be this erroneous belief amongst Yorubas that Ojukwu was interested in Yoruba land. The only thing Ojukwu was interested in was Lagos which was at that time, a separately administered capital territory from the 4 regions.

So the new strategy is to mock and attempt to belittle the SS so they can join Biafra?

It's funny how you people think you can convince the SS that they will have the better deal they deserve under the Ibos. The truth is that they have an inalienable right to independently determine their future if they choose to leave.

Let the SS have their independent nation. Period.
So you think it is Rocket science for the SS man to realise it is much better share his oil wealth with only one Geo-political zone than 5? Aside from that, the bigger question is, how will the SS zone ever get their own country?

The only people opposed to regionalism is the core north, the north central states arent even bothered and would be happy to break away from the domination of the hausa-fulani mafia. If the entire SW, SE, SS and north central agrees to unite in that fight, there's nothing the core north can do. It is not impossible!
Well at least you now know why we Igbos are tired of Nigeria and want to go. Nothing historicaly connects the Igbo man with the Yoruba or Hausa man. However, it almost seems that the Igbos have to seek their consent before getting what is due to them in the name of "One Nigeria". Nothing can stop Biafra from being actualised. If you like, you can stay in Nigeria and keep hoping for federalism, we Igbos have gone past that.

"When a people unite in a single purpose, there is absolutely nothing they cannot achieve" - Gen 11:6

It pains me that even after 45 years, my people cannot still see the big picture and have not still realised this simple fact. True federalism is absolutely possible in Nigeria but there is only one way to it; the entire SE, SS and SW must unite in this single purpose and speak with one voice and you would watch in awe as the northern hegemony will be dismantled instantly.

A case study is the 2011 and 2015 election; the entire norhtern establishment was against GEJ in 2011 but even with their population and dominance, their candidat Buhari failed woefully with a 10million votes gap. But in 2015, the north had to align with the SW and we all know the result today.

The SW, SS and SE wants true federalism but we've never thought it wise to unite in this purpose. Instead everyday you see Igbos and Yorubas fighting senselessly while our real adversaries who have actually kept the nation backward smile away at our collective foolishness. I can assure you that even the north central minorities would be very happy to align with the south if the south puts up a good united fight for federalism. But after many years of praying and wishing for this unity in purpose, the recent development we have is the SE trying to hoodwink the SS to breakaway from Nigeria even whilst we strangely accuse and insult the SW of being the problem. undecided

Bro, please don't ever tell me the north is the reason why true federalism cannot be achieved, rather it is the foolishness of the south to unite in one goal that has kept us in this mess.
Listen man, I'm an Igbo man. I would definitely want true federalism as would all of Southern Nigeria. But the reality is that true federalism can only come by way of a sovereign national conference or if it is passed at the National Assembly. The North has perished any thought about a sovereign conference. When it comes to th National Assembly, the North have more delegates. A federal structure bill will need 2/3ds vote to pass. So how will be done? You think a northerner will vote for it when he finds out it will mean that people from the Niger-Delta will get as much 50% of their oil and Gas money while decreasing the revenue coming to the north? Face reality, regionalism isn't ever coming back.

It's baffling you forget that it was Aguiyi Ironsi that replaced federalism with a Unitary government, just the way it was an Igbo that orchestrated the first coup in Nigeria. You all need to take a moment and understand why you keep shouting blue murder after setting the tone to what in the long run would be injurious to your soul. The blame of this precarious system in Nigeria is the undoing of an Igbo and only the Igbo and not the Hausa should be solely held responsible for that.
Yes an Igbo man orchestrated the first coup, but the entire Igbo nation cannot take responsibility for what a few of its officers did on their own. Ironsi did not bring in the unitary system we practice today, it was Gowon that did that. What Ironsi did was to promulgate a unification decree to allow him Govern as a military ruler. All 4 regions were still functioning under a true federal structure as at the time Ironsi was killed. It was Gowon that dismantled the regions, created States and brought in the unitary system. Some people may not know it but this callous act by Gowon was the immediate reason Ojukwu declared Biafra and the subsequent war that followed. Isn't it funny that the North who listed one of the reasons for killing Ironsi as "tampering with federalism" are now the ones who are now hell bent on federalism never coming back?

Are you aware that both Ghana and Nigeria were members of ecowas when Nigeria evicted Ghanaians in the infamous 'Ghana-must-go' saga?

With that in mind, radio biafra proponents think the best way to break away is through the very tasteless hate campaigns they are waging by insulting and inciting hate against every other Nigerian tribe.... and lets just imagine that Biafra finally succeeds through this hate campaigns, for some people to actually still think there would be a rosy diplomatic relationship with Nigeria is absurd.
At the time that Nigeria kicked Ghanaians out, the ECOWAS free movement and trade agreement had not yet been enshrined in its charter. Now, it is obligatory that at all member nations must sign up to this. This basically means that all those Ghanaians can come back and without any fear that they can be unjustly sent back. Should Biafra join ECOWAS, which is most likely, every Igbo can go anywhere in Nigeria that pleases him and with any visa. Unless Nigeria opts to get out of ECOWAS. As for the hate propaganda on Radio Biafra, frankly, if there was something similar against Igbo on another Radio station, I would agitate even more for Igbos to go as Biafra.

This is exactly what annoys me about the igbos who dont know that they can conveniently feed themselves.this is why i have absolutely no hope in biafra. our leaders have shown that being in a separate country may be the worst mistake we'll ever mąkę. I prefer a federalism within the larger nigerian nation.
If you are hoping to get federalism in Nigeria, forget it. The northerners will never agree to it. They are hugely benefiting from the current unitary system and they will never agree to change. You can bet that they will use their numerical strenght to vote out any bill Sponsoring federalism at the National Assembly because federalism weakens the North politically and economically because they are too dependant on the Government for survival. Another reason why the North will never allow true federalism or regionalism is because it will easier for Nigeria to break up and for Biafra to emerge.

Sorry what I feel is not fear but rather, rage and embarrassment at the shallowness of my people. You will do yourself a lot of good if you can quit your simple-mindedness; not everyone who opposes biafran secession is a yoruba person as most of your little brains keep assuming. Just like I pointed out earlier in my comment, 'comfortable' Igbos are not crazy about the secession moves and will not be supporting it especially due to the senseless way it's presently being promoted on the silly radio station. I am proudly in this category; I support true federalism and resource control, not the balkanization of Nigeria which will greatly affect my businesses.

I can smell from miles away that you must fall into one of the 2 categories of people I mentioned, i.e. the never-do-wells or the dependant students, else you would have been able to see the big picture instead of allowing yourself to be brainwashed by dubious characters.
Who cares about your business? Who cares about a few comfortable Igbos? I'm a relatively comfortable Igbo man who will also be affected by the emergence of Biafra but I still want Biafra because the political and economic emancipation of my people is far greater than any selfish desires I may or may not have. This is about the future not the past and I believe in the ingenuity of my people. I believe that Biafra will be greater than Nigeria ever was.
Politics › Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by zendy:
I want to remind people about something that will be very important in the event of the creation of Biafra. Embossed in front of every Nigerian passport (and any west-African passport) is the acronym "ECOWAS". What this is trying to tell anyone with this on their passport is that they are are entitled to travel, live and settle anywhere in the West-African sub-region without need for any sort of visa. This same sort of system applies in Europe under the "EU" and all member nation can travel at will to each other's countries with no travel restrictions. It is most likely that Biafra,a west African nation, will become a member of "ECOWAS" and any Igbo man will be able to travel and live anywhere in Nigeria without any visa. In the event that the Nigerian Government is crazy enough to pull out of ECOWAS because it wants to Igbos to go, it will also have to ask all ECOWAS citizens living in Nigeria to also go. The mass exodus of not only Igbos but Biafrans and west Africans and the repartriation of their investments will lead to the decimation of the Lagos economy. What makes Lagos s great place is not its sea-port but it's population. Take away that population and Lagos will just be a "coastal town" as it was in the 30's and 40's before the massive influx of people from other regions. Yorubas did not make Lagos what it is, Lagos is the result of the joint effort of everybody. With the Igbo population of Lagos now getting to 50% or half Lagos, take the Igbos out of Lagos and there is no Lagos. Frankly, I want my people, the Igbos, out of Lagos and back home with their investments so we can build the future Biafra. Onitsha, Nnewi or Aba can be bigger than Lagos in a few years if we do this

Oh come on! You honestly believe that what was holding up power all this time was the relaxed attitude of people working in the power sector? You think those people are happy to be wasting money on generators like everybody else? It is in nobody's interest that Nigeria has no light. Then, permit me to say this; your dad is a d.a.m.n horrible liar!

The moment ojukwu decided to embark on his stu.P.id land-grabbing-cum-liberation adventure, his mission was doomed to fail but then ojukwu

had bigger fish (than biafra) in mind when he started his ego-driven struggle. Even if he had managed to get to Lagos, his case would have

been like that of a hen (BLF) who decided (of all places) to have his siesta on a washing line (Mid-west and Yorubaland)- neither he nor the

washing line will see peace and tranquility until the hen finally had enough and eventually find somewhere else to lay his weary head but

meanwhile much more lives would have being lost than we actually experienced with a more lasting and irreparable damage done to our inter-

ethnic interactions.
You took the time to write this but couldn't come with one reason why Biafra would not have triumphed if Britain had not blockaded Biafra. Just how would the Nigerian Army have defeated Biafra if Ojukwu had had the opportunity to bring in enough weaponry, food and other essential supplies to match what Gowon had? You talk about about Ojukwus incursion into the west towards Lagos. Ojukwu was well within his rights to invade anywhere in Nigeria including Lagos. Infact, I read somewhere that when the Biafran forces got to Ore, Gowon started making contingent plans about how to escape. Many still believe that had that Biafran force under Banjo got to Lagos, the war would have had a very different outcome. It's quite possible that Banjo might have have become the first president of Odua Republic and the Yorubas would not be a$$-lickers of the North which they are today in the name of the fraud called "One Nigeria"

Nobody in the South-East takes Okorocha seriously these days. A man who was once arguably the most popular Igbo politician alive is now a by-word for treachery. The man threw away the goodwill freely given to him by people because of the allure of higher office. Rochas and AOC barely survived the last elections but I have no doubt that APC will be totally wiped out in the next elections, infact, to pickup an APC normination form is same as one signing their political death warrant in the South-East.

My father was a Captain in the Biafran Army. He still says it to this day that the biggest reason why Biafra lost the war was British support for Nigeria. Had Britain remained neutral, Biafra would have won. It was British Warships that blockaded Biafra not only preventing the importation of Arms, ammunition, food and essential supplies, but also stopped the export of oil that would have gone a long way to adequately finance the war effort. The air cargo flights into Uli airport were not only very expensive, they were also inadequate. I believe that had the international community stayed out of the war, Gowon would have just been fighting until the fruitlessness of fighting would have dawned oh him and he would given up

That is where you Igbo are getting it wrong. Nigeria cannot split into two. Nigeria can only split into minimum of five countries. Your five south east state will form Biafra. The six south south states will form a confederation or atleast three single countries.

The question in the referedum will not be will you join Biafra or Nigeria. That wont be the question.
The question will be do you want independence or Not with Nigeria grouped into minimum of five nations.
Unfortunately, you cannot create countries with the states because the states are articificial creations themselves. Only tribes and ethnic group affiliations can create countries. Igbos or Igbo land is much larger than the 5 states given to them. For e.g, Delta-Igbos or Anioma people make up about 30% of Delta state in size and population. There are Igbo speaking communities in the lower Benue. I'm not even talking about Rivers Igbos. Let's assume all Igbos form a separate nation. What tribes are going to come together to make up the other countries you talked about? Are the Itshekiris/Urohbos/Isoko going to come together to form a country? What will form what? This is very educational for me as an Igbo man
