So what if Nairaland is owned by a Yoruba man? It is still a free online platform. Do you know the number of Yorubas who comment on Linda Ikeji owned by an Igbo woman? If You don't like Biafra then that's your business.

I laugh in German and their tanks that Nigeria will borrow to fight. U thnk 35 million people will fight. U won't see up to 4000 volunteers. I know my people na. Even if we are 35 million, one bomber jet flying well above clouf level borrowed from Egypt by Nigerians will be enough to end the war. Better go and read your bible and face the welfare of your wives and children
The same jet that couldn't stop the Niger-Delta Militants? The same jets that can't stop Boko Haram? Do you think that people just stand outside waiting to be bombed by jets? You are just a slave of "one Nigeria"

Can't u see, everyone will ask us to lick our wounds and remain with Nigeria. ECOWAS. AU. UN. Nobody will have our backs. Except if its a serious case of maybe a pogrom or genocide, it will Just be we and our ak47 and ogbunigwe. They will call us troublemakers because nobody touched us and we started talking secession and Buhari won't want to go down in history as the man under whose leadership a section of the country seceded. The war will be fought in or land not theirs. Our innocent women and children will perish not theirs. Our infrastructures and lands will be bombed not theirs. those of us not in the east we will be between the devil and deep blue sea. Their brothers will be fighting us in the front line and they'll let us have our businesses, wealth and lands? Come on. Stop being childish. War is never an answer. Learn from Martin Luther King he fought one of the greatest word without lifting as much as a pen knife. If u are fighting the right cause you won't need a gun to defend it.
And before u pen down another story of war, ask yourself - if my God is in heaven watching me, will he be happy I'm calling for the destruction of lives he created? When I can't even make a hairstrand

I have always maintained that Nnamdi kanu is a confused con artist that is on a fairy tale run.

he started his organization as a cheap scam scheme, But when he realized How vulnerable we igbos are with the biafra subject, he decided to expand his scope like every smart scammer.....

The sad truth is, he doesn't know the gravity of what he is playing with all in the name of some cheap dollars, power and fame.

what happened in Aba yesterday must be condemned in the strongest terms.
Be that as it may, we must take it from the right angle. Everyone knows the Nigerian police and military and How they are with guns. Accidental discharge and Nigerian police are like bread and beans. They have killed innocent Nigerians from many tribes through this means. The igbos are not solely targeted. Besides it wasn't even the police that shot the man, it was NDLEA.

By taking up arms and confronting instituted forces in ABA, as commanded by Nnamdi kanu, Nnamdi kanu is gradually branding his organization a terrorist group.

Since after the jamming brouhaha, the world has being watching Radio Biafra with keen interest, trying to place and define the struggle.

By taking up arms, it is now evident to the entire world that IPOB is a terrorist organization and no Nation ever would take them serious, even when they cry of genocide.

Nnamdi kanu should stop this madness now and call his boys to order before it becomes too late.
You are talking nonsense. A young innocent gunned down in broad daylight. What if that had been your brother or loved one? Would you have come to NL to call IPOB a terrorist organisation? What is happening in Aba is a spontaneous reaction of the people to many years of callous murder of innocent people by those who swore to protect them.

What is wrong with igbo's?

When you read books like Things Fall Apart, Efuru and their likes, you get to learn a great deal about the Igbo culture. The men are usually men of honour, they mean what they say and say what they mean. Most of all, when or if a decision taken takes a bad turn, they are ready to face it like the warriors they are.

Funny thing is that these kind of Igbo men seem to exist in meusiums and old history books, but no longer in real life. Ok, you can find a handful here and there but a majority of them today are better of taking the steps of Bruce Jenner.

When you hear some Igbo men talking about how the north marginalised them, in terms of governance via millitary coup, you may be forced to believed that millitary coups are conducted by ballots rather than bullets. Especially when Igbos are pioneers of coup de tete in this country. Instead of sitting on your sorry asses and disrespecting the legacies of your ancestors, why not take your guns and do it the way it's done?

Again you complain of systematic killing, when it was you who first initiated the systematic killings of prominent Nigerian leaders. When shit hit the fence, you start whining in such a way that is hypocritical and anoying. The Sardauna for example was not only a leader of the Hausa, he was leader of Muslims in Nigeria. If you want to kill a man like that, be ready to face the consequences and don't cry.

Then came Biafra, which any strategic leader and general knows it's a stupid idea. You do not start a war you obviously know you cannot win. Especially when your soldiers shamelessly fed on food that was meant for poor civilians, mainly women and children, forcing federal forces to cut off food supply, because obviously, you cannot feed your enemy, that is stupid. But then again, you blame Nigeria for starving your people, how? So you mean to say you had no plans to provide food for your people before going to war? And by the way, why not take responsibility since you claim to no longer belong to Nigeria, what kind of logic is that?

Then just a few months back, not only did you insult Buhari inside out, you walked to the graveyard, with your flashlights and shovels, dug out his dead wife and daughter, vomited, maturbated and peed all over them without any iota of shame. You even swore that Buhari will not become president, and made us all believe that you are custodians of the gates of heaven and hell and have the power to do and undo. Today? Different story. Open every newspaper and what you read is "Buhari has shown his hatred for Igbos". What the hell is wrong with you guys?

And again today, we are back to the good old Biafra thing again.

Kontinwu.
Hamid Abdulmalik Al-Hassan
I don't know the point of this write up. If you don't like Igbos, join the campaign to get Biafra.

What is Buhari going to do? He will order troops to Aba to go and kill people he swore by the contitution to protect? This will only inflame the situation which may spread to other Igbo States

Then what's the essence of Biafra? Is it not to make life better for those living in it? Then how will your life be better if you are not making money? So indirectly it's about people making money to live a better life my brother. Even in the east, not every poor person will risk his life on the order of a 39 year old London based agitator. The ubas of this world will never come out and say they are tired of Nigeria and say they are for Biafra. Knowing that a single shot fired may end all they laboured for years, while the agitator is in Marriott hotel in London getting a head in the midst of carribean ladies. Think deep.
You are simply twisting everything on its head. Biafra is about those living inside it, not about people living outside it. If a person in Ngeria believes that he will be affected by the emergence of Biafra, that person should think about going back home to build his country or going somewhere else more condusive. The world is a big place, it doesn't start and stop with Nigeria. Biafra is not about some double chinned Igbo Billionaire in Abuja or Laogs, it is about the common man in Enugu and Onitsha etc. we won't to Govern our selves and administer our affairs. The Igbo Billionaire can relocate his investment back home if he cares about his people. You asked what is the essence of Biafra? The essence is an Igbo man not having to go through a Yoruba or Hausa man before he elects his leaders and president. It's about having a contitution that represents me as an Igbo man and not one that tries to accommodate people I have nothing in common with. If you want Nigeria, go to Britain and dig Lord Lugard up and tell him that the Nigeria he created for you has expired and you need him to get you another one.

Biafra is not about people making money in Nigeria, it is about those in the east who want their own country. By the way, Ojukwu left Biafra two days before it collapsed. He was there to the end. What you should think about is how the Nigerian Army that could not defeat Militants and can't defeat Boko Haram of a few thousand men is going to fight an Igbo nation of well over 35 million people. I laugh in French.

My uncle fought the first Biafran war and when I asked him if he would again fight for we igbos he laughed and said there's nothing like enjoying peace. It could take just a bullet for your own war to finish my bro.

I think op made very strong points there.

I have a friend who was a mercenary in ghadaffi's war. You have never experienced superior fire power and demons of the air in form of bombers and jet fighters and you are talking of war, who will support us?

Didn't u see how obj crushed the spirit of our brothers in the creek such that when offered amnesty they dropped their weapons.

I'm actually in a uni where the amnesty students are doing their academic programs, and if u ask 20, 19 will tell u they can't pick up a gun again. And u are here talking of war.

Most of we Igbo are rich and very comfortable where we are living, I don't know why u will be talking of war because of politics the average igbo man isn't interested in. Abeg our generation, especially we in school have gone to far integrating as we have so many friends from different ethnic backgrounds. You haven't thought of the fact that igbos have toiled and own 70% of land in abj( el rufai FTC minister 2007) and u are asking them to leave all of it and start fighting war. Where will financial support come from, our Igbo politicians, ohaneze? I pray ooo. Our youths will just shed their blood like stock pigs and we will be the jest of the world just like France, first to declare war and first to lose; twice in history. and then you will now see the true meaning of marginalization.
No amount of Igbo investments anywhere in the world is worth the freedom and sovereinghty of Igbos. If an Igbo man is a successful business man in Abuja, he can stay there. My interests are Igbo land and some of the minorities who share a certain kinship with Igbos to come together and form there own country. OBJ never crushed the Niger-Delta militants. They fought him until he left office the Yaradua came and offered the amnesty. War is not a good thing but if it is the only for my people to get their own country then so be it. no Igbo man worth his salt is coward. We shall get back our autonomy and sovereignty that has been stolen in the name of "one Nigeria".

TRUTHTOPOWER:
This is very noble. The little fear is that the envisaged "freedom" may not be attained after the war. Freedom is hollow and barren if it does not bring peace. From Iraq to Sudan and USSR, the glarring lesson is that: armed conflict will remain a war of peacekeeping long decades after the war is over whilst dialogue will yield progress even in the pendency of cold war. I think this is nobler, my brother. Another question is: how many souls of the weak, children, women, sick are you willing to sacrifice so as to have your idea of freedom? will the sufferings of these class of people not be a bondage far agonizing than current burden of political exclusion which you claimed has been trusted on you? What benefit has the poor urchins in Kaduna or Osun has over the ones in Ebonyi? Will it not be nobler to fight for social justice in your homeland than to wage war over the privileges of elective or appointive offices? Does it not shock you that the media has brainwashed its readers to ignore their rights and focus on the privileges of our leaders. Alas. we are now part of the treachery - albeit unwittinly!
These are the wrong questions to ask. The right question should be 'why do we have to fight in first place?' . We all used to be free people before the White came to create Nigeria. That white has man has since gone home. Why do we now have to kill our selves before we go back to how we were before the white man came?

The answer these questions is something that the so called Nigerians don't want to face up to, that Nigeria is just a "master/slave" relationship and we have been killing our selves for 55 years over who should be the master and should be the slave. As long Nigeria exists, I will never have sovereignty to administer my own affairs as an Igbo man and that is unacceptable. It is time for us to put an end to Nigeria or we prepare for another round of armed conflict and carry on killing each other.

If I cannot stand war to fight for my own freedom then it means I am not a man. What will happen? Death? Hunger? Loss of property? I am prepared to through all those things to get my freedom as an Igbo man. But it is really strange that a Yoruba or Hausa man who has no historical connection with the Igbo is prepared to fight a war to be with Igbos, really strange

Etcetra made one big mistake in this write up. He said that while he believes in right of the Igbos to secede, it should be done peacefully because "it is wrong to seek divorce by putting a gun to your spouse’s head" . What Etcetra needs to explain now is "when did we get married?" Nigeria is an illegal union where certain west African ethnic groups were forced by the British to be together. There was never any marriage, I as Igbo man can leave any time I wish. A white man cannot come from Britain to foist an illegal identity called "Nigerian" on me. We Igbos are going to fight for our right to our freedom and if Nigeria resists, we go to war. Maybe we lost round 1 but we shall keep fighting until our sovereignty that was stolen by the British is returned. Nobody can force another to be a Nigerian

It should be noted that one of the major reasons that Anambra can pay salaries while some states in the South-west are struggling, is commerce. If you remove Lagos state from the South-West, the entire commerce, trade, industries and business of the rest of the South-west states don't come near to the volume of business activities of Anambra

I was watching a talk show on tvc this morning and a marriage councilor talked about an igbo lady that cried to him saying her dad wants a millon naira for her bride price.

She further said her dad should even give her free to the guy because she has aborted 3 times gor the guy and she will be the one to lose should the guy leaves.

I pity igbo ladies.I honestly do.
Don't generalise on the issue of Bride price in Igboland because it differs from clan to clan and family to family. I know Igbo families where the Bride price is as low as a one Thousand Naira. When it comes to the issue of marriage, it is quite unfortunate to see the huge number of young Ladies out there that are unmarried out there but I hasten to add that this is a worldwide generational problem. During the time of my mother, it was quite rare to see a girl get to age of 25 and not recieve a marriage proposal. Now, it is getting harder for the average girl to get married before 25. The reasons my parents generation got married is not the reason the present generation gets married. The baby mama phenomenon is increasing every day. I think men and women alike, especially women, have an unrealistic expectation of marriage. The economy hasn't helped either. Most men will never marry a "Bianca" and most women won't marry a "Dangote". Just like everything in life, marriage is "compromise party".

Only an ignoramus can love and evil man like Murtala Mohammed. You know why?

murtala Mohammed was a despicable man of the highest other. It is a personal disgrace to all well meaning Nigerians that such an evil man has his face on the national currency and has landmarks such as an international Airport named after him

The sins of murtala:

1) murtala Mohammed led a band of Northern military officers which included the current president Buhari,Danjuma,Babangida,Abacha,Jerry Useni, the late Yaradua senior amongst others in the counter coup of July 1966 were they killed Ironsi and massacred over 300 eastern officers.

2) murtala and his troops massacred over 700 civilian men, women and children who came to welcome him and his troops as they entered Asaba at start of the war

3) murtala despite sound advice and in a bid to increase his popularity led thousands of Nigerian Soldiers to their deaths as he tried to cross the river Niger into Onitsha on 3 separate attempts (The then Lt Oladipo Diya almost lost his life in one of those attempts). Subsequently, Mutala was recalled from the war and sent to London while his men lay dead under the River Niger.

4) murtala became the first Military officer in Nigeria who conducted a coup to sieze political power for him self when he kicked out Gowon. Even Nzeogwu had no interest in becoming president in his own coup. murtala then in one of the biggest acts of Military indiscipline then retired everyone who was above him in rank promoted him self from a one star Brigadier General to a full four star Genera in one go. murtala became the face of Northern military domination of Nigeria.

murtala then embarked on a mass purge of the civil service where he sacked over 11,000 workers nationwide which included some of the best and brightest.

murtala was a war criminal, a homicidal killer, a failed Soldier,a sociopath and national disgrace.
