How can Abubakar Audu become Governor of Kogi again? If memory serves me right, that man has been Governor on two previous occasions. |
coolitempa:Igbo sounding names? Igbo sounding language. Nonsense. The first time I was in Ikereland I understood everything they said, infact, I understand Ikwere-Igbo even better than Abakiliki-Igbo. Some Ikwere people say they not Igbo but we all know it's about the politics of Oil. |
Lovesdaisied:This is far from the end of it! You conveniently termed some Igbo or decendants of Igbos as Igbo then when you came to an Ikwere man who has an Igbo name and speaks Igbo as his first language, suddenly, you don't knows who is Igbo and who is not. This is pure deceit! You must add everything, Delta-Igbo, Ikwere-Igbo,Etche-Igbo,Anioma-Igbo,Igbanke-Igbo and everything Igbo. Don't play this sort of game here. |
coolitempa:SS people? What's this so called SS people? SS is just a term the Abacha Government came up with. It is not the name of a people. How do you identify an Igbo person? Is it by the language or surname? I'm from Anambra, I speak Igbo as my ancestral language and I have an Igbo surname, am I Igbo? The Ikwere Man speaks Igbo as his language and has an Igbo name, is he Igbo? Next thing you will tell me that the Ikwere are not Igbo because Abacha came up with the name South-South. |
Lovesdaisied:Why are you excluding him from the list and what is this Ikwere vs Igbo? You mean you cannot tell if Elechi Amadi is an Igbo man or not? Listen brother, the Ikwere people speak Igbo as their ancestral language, they have Igbo surnames. What else makes a person Igbo? |
uchwar1:And this is what you have to say after viewing that disgraceful picture? |
When they see Boko Haram, they will run away. But when they see poor defenceless civilians, that's when their bravado comes out. They are a disgrace |
laudate:Don't forget that Ojukwu was a Military ruler, he may well have been highanded but I have seen a Military dictator who wasn't. |
laudate:. I think you should remember that in July 1966 when the the major TY Danjuma sorrunded Government House in Ibadan, the 3 senior officers in Government house were Lt Colonel Njoku,Lt Colonel Fajuyi and Major General Ironsi. Njoku had to shoot his way out of Government House and escaped with bullet wounds. Soldiers even went searching for him in Hospitals but he was hidden by friends until he managed to escape back to Enugu. In Enugu, Ojukwu rehabilitated Njoku gave him a house, even sent him abroad to get proper treatment for his bullet wounds. When Biafra was declared, Ojukwu promoted Njoku to Brigadier-General and made Army Boss.My personal opinion is that Ojukwu felt that Njoku was an ingrate. In Philip Effiongs book "Biafra: My story" he said that because Njoku had always been senior to Ojukwu, he (Njoku) wasn't happy to be taking orders from his junior. Njoku sent a strongly worded letter to Ojukwu tendering his resignation as Biafran Army Boss and accusing Ojukwu of being to highanded. At that time, people like Lt Colonel Banjo and Major Ifeajuna were plotting to topple Ojukwu and others like Kurubo were defecting. Ojukwu accepted Njoku's resignation but had to keep him under house arrest in incase Njkoku sabotaged Biafra. Unfortunately for Njoku, the war came soon after there were more pressing issues. |
It will be the most proud moment of my life the day that the "cursed" Green-White-Green flag which represents slavery is lowered forever and the Biafran rising sun flag is hoisted in Igbo land to represent the sovereign state of Biafra. |
Before you start praising Buhari for the good work which he has not yet done, it is important to analyse what is on the ground. This man Buhari has ruled before and accomplished nothing. My personal opinion is that Buhari has nothing to offer. Even his first 100 days in office is turning out to be a joke. He is only there to fulfil the norths 'born to rule' agender. Isn't it ironic that Buhari who has been jumping up and down to become president of Nigeria has not yet been able to tell Nigerians one single policy his Government has for the people? Buhari should have stayed back in Daura to take care of his Cattle instead of coming back to Government |
laudate:When Biafra was declared, Ojukwu appointed as Biafran Army Boss. However, soon after this, friction started between Ojukwu and Njoku over what Njkoku believed to be Ojukwus "high-handedness". Njoku and Ojukwu simply did not get along. Njkoku resigned, however, in the military, it can be an act of treason for a military officer to resign an appointment without authorisation. Ojukwu then ordered Njoku's house arrest where Njoku stayed until the end of the war. |
mauriceju2:you asked a very simple question. Unfortunately, most Nigerians especially those outside the SS/SE cannot answer this question. The best most of them will come up with is how the Lord Lugardian experiment called Nigeria is all the know which is essentially the thinking of a slave. Nigeria is a disaster of country that has never worked. It is this retrogressive state that has claimed the lives of millions is what people say that they believe in. The Yoruba man and Hausa man have no historical ties to the Igbos but they are prepared to fight wars to be with the Igbo man. It is pure madness. It is crazy for anyone to believe they are brothers to Igbos just because Lord Lugard came from Britain to say so. Everything is about oil. Nothing more |
debetmx:Nigeria was a fraud when it was created in 1914 is and has remained so to this day. By the way, Hilary Njoku may have been Ojukwus senior but Ojukwu never locked him up in jail, he was kept under house arrest in his village. |
pazienza:I'm glad that you are writting this because the present crop of Nigerian youths in their 20's,30's and even some in their 40's don't know a single thing about the history of Nigeria and this is a tragedy. More than 80% of all Nigerians cannot articulate the cumulative chain of events that led to the war from the 1964 elections to end of the war. Many do not know what the eastern Nigerian consultative assembly was or the part they played in in giving Ojukwu the mandate representing the 20 provinces of the Eastern region to declare Biafra. The entire civil war was just one concerted attempt to get at the Oil wealth of the Eastern region, nothing more. Nigeria was a fraud then, it is fraud now, it will always be a fraud until sovereignty is returned to the people. Awolowo and Gowon were just co-travellers in a state craft of deciet. Both men should have being arraigned at The Hague for the monumental and duplicitous fraud they committed in the name of "One Ngeria". Oh well, the good thing is that the future is more important than the past. In the future, we shall correct the wrongs of the past. |
Oliseh ( which is how Delta Igbos pronounce 'Olisah' meaning God) introduced him self as "Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh" then immediately said " and if you are Igbo, I am not Igbo" after which he laughed. Am I the only one who could see that the man was just joking and never denied being Igbo? Another thing that amuses me is the way some Urohbos, Itshekiris, Isokos and even some Yorubas vehemently agree that Delta-Igbos are not Igbos but behind the back of the Delta-Igbo Man they will say "look at that Igbo man". |
7lives:So what is the worth of your country if the same country has to kill millions of its fellow citizens to be together? 67 to 70 was then. Back when Nigeria could call on super powers like Britain and Russia to provide it with limitless ammunition and Warships to stop food and essential ammunition from getting into Biafra. Nigeria had the advantage. Now, you can trust that those super powers will not get involved in things that don't concern them. That's why the Nigerian Army cannot even defeat Boko Haram that is chasing them about in North. Just how will this Army fight Biafra? The day that the Igbos take up Arms like the Niger-Delta militants and Boko Haram have done is the day Nigeria comes to abrupt end. |
This Joe Igbokwe is a complete disgrace to the Igbo nation. Is this man really Igbo? Chei! anya'm ahu ntim! Only a very foolish Igbo man will beg to join APC |
anulaxad:I mean historical ties with the North before the British came to create the land of confusion called Nigeria. There was none. And even if there was any, it is up to me if it means anything. The only delusion here is your belief that the White man can come from Britain to tell you who you are. A white man cannot give you your country. It is for you to go and find your country instead of foisting your self on people who don't want to be with you. Go and get a sense of self determination instead of remaining a slave of the one Lord Lugard determined for you. |
I'm happy that it is just a few Delta-Igbos or Anioma people who have this identity crises. Someone speaks Igbo as his ancestral language, has an Igbo surname, but turns around to say they are not Igbo. Someone has to explain this one to me............... |
osuvicky:The only voting I care about right now is how to vote for the division of Nigeria in a referendum so that my people will get Biafra. |
osuvicky:I wouldn't vote for APC even if my own father was the Presidential candidate. But by the way, how do you think that a Party like APC with little or Igbo members will ever field an Igbo man as its flagbearer? They will never do this because they would lose a lot of support from the North. Should Buhari not run in 2019, they will just find another Northerner. I'm sure by now, every Yoruba man alive has dreamt about "Osibanjo 2019" |
In 1979, an Islamic cleric called Ruholla Khomeini based in France brought down the Government of Iran led by the Shah of Iran (Reza Pashlavi) just by people playing recorded tape messages in mosques across Iran. In those messages, Khomeini admonished the Shah and his despotic, corrupt regime and urged the people to rise up and change things. This galvanised the people of Iran to rise up and chase the Shah out of Iran and Khomeini, who had not even been back home in more than 10 years, flew back to Iran and became the supreme leader of the country due to popular uprising of the people. Unfortunately, Khomeini proved to be worse than the Shah but the lesson to be learned here is that the leader of a revolution does not have to be on the ground to fight personally in other to effect revolution. The people calling for Nnamdi Kanu to return to Nigeria and fight to prove he is not a coward are just those want him arrested and paraded unclad in other to break the spirit of Biafra. The same Nnamdi Kanu was in the east broadcasting for 6 months this year before retuning to his London base in June. What this people do not know is that removing the leader of a movement does not stop the movement, it only makes the movement even more determined. This was seen in the fact that when Boko Haram first started, it's then leader Yusuf was arrested and publicly executed by the Police thinking that would end Boko Haram. Shekau took over and proved he was much worse than Yusuf. The vast majority of Biafrans such as me would want Biafra to come by peaceful means such as a referendum or plebiscite. But what if the Nigerian Government refuses? Anyone who plans for peace must also plan for war because nothing is guaranteed in life. Nobody has the right to tell the Igbo man or any minority in the SS that they must be Nigerians. It is our choice if we want to be Nigerians or Biafrans and anyone takes away our right of choice is asking for trouble. Nigeria is a whitemans creation and that is why it is a fraud. It is time for us Africans to create our own Countries and not carry on with an outdated colonial legacy called Nigeria. Freedom is not cheap, it costs lives. Any true Igbo man cannot accept to be a slave in a failed state such as Nigeria It referendum or war!! But there is no going back on Biafra |
ACM10:That's true. Nnamdi Kanu's Father is the king of a community in Ibeku, Umuahia. |
I don't think the Kogi people know the kind of Fire they have dipped their hands into. I don't think they know the stuff that Aguleri/umuleri/Otuocha people are made of. When they had their own internal battle years ago, OBJ had to visit there before peace could be restored. Now Kogi youths have ramped up the stakes by going from causing neusance to actually invading and killing people on their farms. Anambra is my home state and I know that Aguleri people will not forget this until they get their own pound of flesh back. It is almost inevitable that they are going to invade Ibaji and burn the place to the ground. Those Kogi youths should never have killed any body because there is nothing makes Igbos go crazy like killing them. |
Anyone clamouring for true federalism, regionalism, confederalism, resource control or anything along those lines is living in misplaced hope. How will you get any of these things when we all know that the 'parasites' known as Northern Nigerians will use their numerical strenght at the National Assembly to scuttle any such move? The North will never allow the south any form of restructuring because the current fraudulent unitary system is rewarding them handsomely. That is why I believe that the only way out is secession. We have to divide Nigeria! I'm an Igbo man with no historical ties to the Hausa man, so why am I in the same country with the Hausa man? There is no going back on Biafra!! |
We should look at this thing holistically. A young innocent man was gunned down in Aba. What the police should have immidiately done is to tender an unreserved apology to the family of the deceased. Instead, what they did when people protested was to open fire with live ammunition. For how long will people suffer the arrogant excesses of the Police? Militancy is slowly creeping into Igbo land and the day Igbo youths take up arms is the day Nigeria comes to an end. There isn't a big difference between a Nigeria soldier carrying AK 47 and an Igbo youth carrying the same, both can kill each other. The Nigerian Army that could not defeat the Niger Delta militants and cannot defeat Boko Haram has no hope of ever defeating Igbos, not even in a thousand years. While we patiently ask for a referendum to decide our destiny, we won't be taking for fools. The day Igbos take up Guns, Nigeria comes to an end. |
I remember that there was an Urhobo loudmouth who kept saying that Delta-Igbos are not Igbo and that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from Ogwashi-ukwu is not Igbo. The same Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala later stated she cooked for Biafran Soldiers and that her father, Igwe Okonjo, current king of Ogwashi-Uku was a Brigadier in the Biafran army |
