bidemi12: Who cares if MEND is doing it for Nigeria or themselves? The point is they are doing something. Will you fight for them? It would be nice for all to come together in one voice to fight for the same cause but good luck with that happening. We as human beings are inherently selfish anyway. Left to you come 2020 with the status quo beign the same, we will still be celebrating another 10 years of failure. At what point do you take action? And o yes!! I am fascinated with you. I am always fascinated with retards on NL and Nigeria In general. I am still trying to decipher how people like you exist. It is a scientific project for me now and I must get to the bottom of it. slowpoke I understand your problem, and i sympathize with you. I will tolerate the stench that has been dropping from your mouth up until you get your brain transplant. I heard you are now next on the transplant list. bidemi12: Let me get you right. are you saying Nigerians shouldn't fight because wars do not solve anything? you can use violence to jar people back to reality (like ziga, who is in a perpetual fantasy land), change the ideology of a state (russia, china, cuba) or wrestle your independence (USA). All we need is to identify what we are fighting for. personaly i think part of the reason we are the way we are is because our independence was handed over to us on a platter of gold. If you struggle and sweat for an objective you will value it more. historicaly, the end result of wars is not immediate but reveals itself overtime. Also, think of the Nigerian situation as that of a bully in school. until you stand up to that bully he/she will continue to ride you until forced to see otherwise. even if you stand up to him/her but do not win, that bully will think twice before approaching you in the future. that is why although i abhor the loss of life, i congratulate MEND on their bold venture. Those basterds in government must realize that no place will be safe for them. Mr man, What is your problem. What is your fascination with me or Nigeria LOL. You need to grow up because i'n not here to score points. @Other people. Violence can't solve anything in our current situation, because there is no unity of purpose amongst Nigerians. We all can see the way political issues are turned into religious or tribal issues, and we all fall for it. MEND is obviously not fighting for Nigeria, so why should true Nigerians support them This division is our biggest problem, and if the youths don't face that problem and refuse to be fooled by the usual talk of "because he is from this state, or he is too young, etc, he can't be our leader", then violence will result in multiple factions that will have their own selfish agenda which will be used by the same political leaders against themselves. And it is always amusing that most Nigerians really want the same thing at the end of the day, but they attach useless conditions to the solution e.g he has to be from ND, or from the north or Igbo/Yoruba etc. These leaders know we dont have one voice, and they know just how to trigger the division between us. If we don't solve this Nigerian arrogance/ "my own is the best" problem, we aint going nowhere. It is always funny because war advocates are always the ones who lose their face when action begins. |

bidemi12: I was waiting for that. My guy, I have fought in two wars. In afghanistan and Iraq. I fought in it because it was worth it for me and my family. It guaranteed my children and wife’s future. Educationaly, financialy and healthwise. Even if I had died, their future would still have been guaranteed. It was worth risking my life for. What guarantee is there that things would change if I fought and died for Nigeria? I have been to places and done things you can only close your eyes, cross your fingers and wish for. when i see the change in the mentality of nigerians and the willingness to fight i will do same. Not before. for now, with people like you in it, it is not worth it.slowpoke Congratulations Mr. American. Then shut up, because you really don't have anything at stake in Nigeria. You have no love for Nigeria, you seem to be really bitter that you had to go fight for another country to become accepted there. bidemi12: i scanned and scanned the all the posts so far on this topic, yes all 23 pages, looking for any contribution from two of the most useless contributors on NL, TENSOR77 and ZIGA, on their views of this latest development from nigeria. shame no gree them contribute. This is what happens when people decide to ignore problems in any society. It comes back to bite you in the arse. Those basterds in abuja prefer to celebrate with our billions instead of reflecting on the state of the nation. much as i detest this new development, it will help to jar those basterds back to the reality on ground that all the fanfare will not distract nigerians from the truth. We are becoming a failed state. That the only people interested in the continued unification of the country are either looting the country blind, have business interests in the country or dont just know what the hell is going on. The sooner we face facts and consider the total overhaul of all institutions in Nigeria then war might be a viable and foreseable option in the near future. And dont say it is not possible. The signs are already manifesting. You are a complete ignoramus for calling me out. the fact that i don't speak doesn't mean i have nothing to say. A lot of people have said exactly what i would have said already. You were against celebrating our independence, so i believe you are happy about the bomb attack. A lot of people here have said.it. the problem with Nigeria is us. Everybody can point fingers but like someone just posted. 90% of the people accusing will go into government and do no better than even Abacha. Most Nigerians are arrogant and un-accommodating. Why can't we "live and let live" That same arrogance is displayed in everything that comes out of Mr. Bidemi's mouth. So, please keep my name out of your mouth. Shiorrrrr. |

But through the ashes will arise a much stronger nation. Go say that in Somalia. Nigeria is not even united against a common enemy. We war amongst ourselves. A "revolution" will result in massive unjustifiable loss of lives. A chance for one side to draw blood from the other. be careful what you wish for bro. |

Nice idea. . . If we can talk about the bad characters we possess, we are halfway to making a positive change.
Unfortunately, it has been hijacked and turned into a mudslinging event. A lot of Nigerian's attitude of self importance (mine is better or more important than yours) is what continues to keep us disunited.
The aggressive, arrogant Nigerian spirit which has helped us achieve in times of difficulty and also in foreign lands is what keeps us from making progress. |

I used to think almost every Nigerian was hopelessly pessimistic, arrogant and filled with self pity.
But now, i realize there are a lot more Nigerians that see themselves as the tools for revival of Nigeria.
Am not talking about people who know how to identify why the work was not done, but True Nigerians who are not scared of getting into the dirt to ensure that the work is done. . .
People who don't just talk for the sake of opening their mouths, but people who are looking for ways to make positive change.
There is hope guys. One love. That is a reason to celebrate Naija. |

That has nothing to do with patriotism but a rather nasty nationalism of the kind leaders like Adolf Hitler espoused. There is no country on earth that has developed by relying on mere natural resources rather than discipline, hard-work, skills, education and selfless service. But if you are waiting for a messiah to transform Nigeria, rather than the citizens taking personal responsibility for that, you really must be living in cloud cuckoo land! Those words have summed up the problems with Nigerians. Lots of people believe that there should be someone to serve them. So, everybody is waiting for magic to happen. |

Nigeria has the manpower and the resources to be a better a nation but a few corrupt individuals hold the nation to ransome with threats of civil war and mayhem if their biddings are not adhered to. It`s time to wipe them all out n let new crop of leaders take over.! And there is absolutely nothing to celebrate in 50 years of Nigeria`s existence absolutely NOTHING! Statements like these make me cringe. Too many Nigerians think too highly of themselves. In what way will you say that we are better than Afghans. And this kind of arrogance is displayed by the average Nigerian. You hear them say why should Nigeria be poor. You seem to believe that riches is a God-given gift to Nigeria and you don't need to do anything to get it. You don't have to celebrate, my brother. Leave the celebration to the few of us who appreciate, and know that the future of Nigeria is in our attitude towards our country. |

That is my problem with your analysis. the bad have completed over shadowed the good so much so that citizens are shackeled from realising their true potential. when you live through a week without thinking you have to bribe your way into what is basically your right, or do not have to jump through hoops to get a job, or sleep with one eye open for fear of armed robbers, or fear of showing your wealth because you might be kidnapped, or cast your vote and be confident that you vote will count, then you can preach to me about good things in nigeria.
