You only get these attacks because of your tribalistic posts. I'm sure you know that its not hard for many other contributors to be tribalistic just like you.

We are still all Nigerians, so chill out.

Surgeries can fail for different reasons, so i would suggest you talk to your surgeon, he will be able to give you better information.

About recurrent sinusitis, avoid smoking, if you have allergies, avoid the triggers e.g dust, fumes from stoves, rugs in the house etc. For your allergies, you can take antihistamines. lorantadine is non drowsy and should help.

Drink lots of water. it will keep the mucus watery and allow easy drainage. Intranasal decongestants may be beneficial also.

However, if you have a structural abnormality in your nasal passages that prevent normal drainage and repeated infections in your sinuses, then surgery will be your best option.

Dr i posted a topic(#17 on d list) on my search 4 herbal or food suplement 2 cure sinusitis.surgery didnt work.can u hep
i don't know of any food supplement/ herbal cure for sinusitis.

Sinusitis is an infection of the paranasal sinuses. It could be viral, (no antibiotics needed), or bacterial, (antibiotics needed)

What type of surgery did you have. That may help me to understand what you mean better.

You should see a dentist who will assess the situation and advise you on the best way to treat. Take note that he will need to see the decaying tooth to be able to suggest anything.

Thanks Ziga. Saw a doc & after some tests prescribed an antibiotic with few other drugs. It has helped with d rash & itching.
One more thing pls, my p'enis never gets hard since i developed d rash. Pls dont get me wrong (not that i've been tryin to use it since d rash). My fiance comes around to help me with some things & even when she puts on body revealing clothes, i dont get moved (even if i want to be moved). It just remains there like that. Could it be because of d fungi that caused d rash (cos i'm still few days on my medication) or could it be something else? Note: I never had any kinda rash on my p'enis or close to it.
I'll appreciate your kind suggestions. Thank u once again.
The stimulus for arousal in males many times starts from the brain, and whenever there is anything going on in your mind, you might not have an e.rection like you used to. Therefore, this is expected when you are anxious, depressed, tired or SICK.

So i would say, do not worry, things should return back to the way it used to be in a couple of days.

However, you should also consider that it may be a side effect of the drug you are using. So, find out more about the possible side effects of whatever medication you are currently on. Google search should help.

Hi Ziga,

Pls what is it about itchy hands and feet at night or after a shower at night?

thanks
Itching, especially of the  hands and feet at night may be due to a scabies infection. This is more likely, if there are other people in the household with similar symptoms. It can be treated easily with benzyl benzoate.

However, other things can cause body itching e.g allergies, anxiety disorders, drug reactions, Also included are systemic diseases e.g kidney diseases, gall bladder disease, and blood cancers (leukemia)

It is a long list as you can see, so i would suggest that you see a doctor who might be able to interpret your other symptoms and then suggest the appropriate lab tests.

Good luck.

Gud day Doc. I hav this health prob plz. At a stage in my life noticed that i was going 2 toilet too often ( stool normal ), i felt very uncomfortable under a fan or AC. I feel this burning sensation in my chest and in my lower abdomen mostly after eating and digestion. Pain full boils appear around my focal places and then they go, with out rupturing or medication. There's this feeling around my buttocks like there are ants crawling around when i am sitted. I have occasional severe waist and lower back pain, and i have lost weight tremendously despite my large appetite and balanced diet, i feel dizzy and get tired easily. I am a youth 23yrs. I have been 2 d hospital, done series of test, but d Doc has not been able 2 lay a finger on the prob. I hav taken loads of antibiotics to get some relieve all 2 no avail. Am really confused. D test i took where, All D STI, including HIV. I thint d prob lies with my GIT, Plz i need help. Thank u 4 your attention.
Hi. Unfortunately for me, it will be difficult for me to suggest anything much because your symptoms involve almost every system in the body.

Do you have blood in your stool? You should get a stool microscopy to know if you have a GI infection. That can be treated with antibiotics.

Using antibiotics for prolonged periods without knowing what you are treating for sure has its harmful effects. For example, on the GIT, so i would suggest you stop the antibiotics.

However, your weight loss, increased appetite, discomfort around the fanhuh(i am guessing this is heat intolerance) may indicate a thyroid dysfunction. So try and get a thyroid function test.

Other symptoms of hyperthyroidsm include, palpitations, excessive sweating, hand tremors(shaking hands). If you have these symptoms, then a thyroid problem is very likely.

Also, it is possible that your problem could be of a psychological nature.

If there's any extra information you want to add, this might be helpful.

Idi-ot, it wouldn't matter to private investors who are supposed to fund a new airport whether the current airport is owned by the FG or LASG. Only a slowpoke would want to build a brand new airport from scratch when the current airport is effectively one brand new runway away from undermining the commercial rationale for a new airport.

The last time you flew into Lagos, did your plane spend an hour circling the airport because it was waiting for room to land? The traffic in Lagos is unbelievably light compared to some airports in Africa. Improve and maintain what you have, it seems it's new delusional fad for state govts to want to own airports. Bunch of morons.

I'm not against most of the projects in Lekki, I'm against the airport in particular and it's no surprise you can't find private investors who are willing to take the commercial risk for a new airport when there is a barely used one already.
I think you are the one who is delusional.

Last time i checked MMIA is FG property, and they prevented the LASG from even upgrading the Airport road when they tried to. I hope you read about that in the news!!!

Well at the current capacity, MMIA is grossly over-utilized!!!

The Jakande era is gone. . . .Too many people and such gargantuan projects will only serve
to exacerbate other problems in the metropolis.

The Agenda for Lagos right now has to be TRANSPORT, TRANSPORT, TRANSPORT.
I absolutely agree with this. Lots of people are already moving out of lagos into the surrounding towns. And the development there is rapidly growing.

The only problem they might face is transportation in and out of Lagos. And once the transport issues have been fixed. Many more people will move out of Lagos en masse. For most people, the main attraction in Lag is the business opportunities. And if they can have their business running but live in a less populated quieter neighborhood, they will grab the opportunity.

If the BBC's goal was too portray Nigeria in a negative light, they have not wholly succeeded.

Why should anyone worry about morality as it pertains to a profit-oriented organisation like the BBC? These people simply show whatever would get them viewers and foreign poverty happens to be a market champ. Slumdog Millionaire is an example of how poverty sells. We should live without worrying ourselves silly about things like this, if I had to worry myself about everything on TV, I would be dead of depression by now.
Morality actually applies to and is a duty of anybody who has the ability to significantly alter public opinion.

News journalists, Doctors, Priests and Pastors etc. And when you are carrying out your duties, the truth should come first. Besides religion, there are laws and ethics that guide people in such positions/occupations.

That Nigerian girl on that beach has a better quality of life in real terms than your average Brit on an estate or American in a project. Don’t want to write loads of stuff here but, man the fresh meat in that lagos market that she attended. Who in Britain can afford that quality of meat? Maybe occasionally for Sunday roast. The Nigerian kids in England, Ireland and Britain are all swollen because of the poor quality of food. That Nigeria girl can see the stars, not moribund to a couch, don’t pay taxes, I could go on suffice to state that we need to revaluate what development means

Second Program:

I liked the houses on stilts in the water. Those should not be bulldozed but redeveloped using the skills acquired by the residents.

Overall, the BBC’s intention was, I believe, as many stated, disingenuous.
Exactly my thoughts. That community should be preserved. And slowly with the skills already acquired by the dwellers there, their wooden stilt homes can be redesigned and  the area should be planned and reorganized. The lagoon can be dredged and aquatic life will return. And the fishermen will get more fish. That place could become a tourist haven. . . Make what you have to work for you!!!

But as oyinbo man done talk. My fellow Nigerians can only see a slum there, and that place must be bulldozed.

Hi doc,

I have a friend who is having the problem of pelvic pain and also slight swollen of the pelvic. What do you think could possible be the cause?

Can you tell me what you really mean by pelvic pain and swollen pelvis. What part of the body are you talking about? bone? lower abdomen? groin?

Doc, the pain is on the lower abdomen. The friend is a female.
Lower abdominal pain/pelvic pain in a woman of child bearing age can be caused by a lot of things.

These various conditions have various symptoms that will be too long to cover here.

However, if she has missed her period, she needs to get a pregnancy test, and if the pregnancy test is positive, she needs a scan to confirm that the pregnancy is in the right place.

Vagina.l discharge may indicate a pelvic infection
Fibroids may cause pain or even abnormal menstrual bleeding
Appendicitis can be a possibility with its own sets of signs and symptoms

I would advise that she visit her doctor/gynecologist

Hi Doc,

My wife's period is very regular in cycle length (26~28 days each) and number of days (5 days). However, this month she had it for only 2 days and the flow was not lighter than usual. What could be wrong? She was being treated for Candidiasis a few days before her period.
Also, would you know if pregnancy test kits are available in Nigeria?

Many thanks
I don't think the treatment for candidiasis could have resulted in the change in her periods.

I'm guessing you meant to say that the flow was much lighter than usual. She can get a pregnancy test to make sure she is not pregnant and yes, home pregnancy tests are available in Naija.

Sometimes, changes in the menstrual cycle may only be due to some stress. . . But there may be other serious conditions that require early medical intervention causing it. Anyhow, the first thing to do will be to rule in / out a pregnancy.

Hope that helped.

For people with minimal body fat, veins might be visible. But what i think you are trying to say is that you feel you are underweight.

You can calculate your BMI via this link to know if you are underweight http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

The only solution to gaining weight is to eat more food more times in a day.

Try and eat a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables and water.

Vitamin supplements may help. And also, develop an exercise plan, because you do not want to become overweight.

Be careful about drugs you use in order to gain weight, because i know people can have access to some prescription drugs that may have harmful side effects in Naija.

The only thing you've been doing is trying to put holes in peoples argument for the need of an airport in the FTZ. You claim most of the projects will not benefit the poor even when people have stated clearly the ways it can benefit the poor.

Please give suggestions about how the project can be modified to favor the poor.

You say jobs created by LASG is going to imports and i say that happens all over the world. It is a sign that the state has something to offer. People complain daily everywhere in the world that jobs created are taken up by foreigners. And if you are in a foreign country, and you are working there, that applies to you.

What are you actually in favor of and please defend it.

You have to choose a side to stand and give a sincere reason for it. Even if it is prejudiced, people might be able to understand your point of view.

But throwing stones at everything won't get us anywhere

You did not answer any of my questions though. New jobs were created over the last 5 years, sure. But How many of those jobs actually went to Lagosians and not to imports(people from other parts of the country, and even expatriates)? How many actual lagosians got those social-ladder climbing jobs, compared to those who didn't?
I'm guessing you are not in Nigeria, and i'm also guessing that you work there. This is inevitable.

Kobojunkie:
I hate to break it to you but in the same time period, the number of poor has significantly increased across Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. You sound like you have seriously high hopes for this project but can we please not get carried away here and especially when reality is being considered?
Also inevitable. If other states don't develop as fast as Lagos is, people will always move in large numbers to Lagos. But that shouldn't stop the attempts by the LASG to cater for these large numbers by embarking on Large projects.
