idnobleg:First it is not a normal thing for a woman to have any abnormal vaginal discharge or odor. What you described sounds like a vaginal infectoin. I would guess bacterial vaginosis, but there is no way to be sure unless you see a doctor and have some tests done. Other possibilities could be one of the sexually transmitted infections. Bacterial vaginosis is not sexually transmitted. It can happen in women who douch (clean their vagina) with antiseptics, or also in women who have been taking antibiotics. These chemicals kill of some of the protective bacteria in the vagina, and this allows for the overgrowth of other types of bacteria that would normally not be able to grow in there. So, if you have been using douches, you'll need to stop. You can read up on bacterial vaginosis by searching on google if that applies to you. But you will need to see a doctor anyway for a proper diagnosis. |
@Poster Your posts most times should be ignored, cause you hardly make any sense at all. Now tell me what all these have to do with Yoruba alone. I will not use insulting remarks against your tribe because it is only crude and prehistoric men that think and talk that way. There are many angles to the problem in Nigeria. A lot of pregnant women don't use hospital facilities during their pregnancy, so complications develop, and we know prevention is always better. This maybe due to i.) unavailability of hospital facilities in some parts of Naija ii.) Religious practices - Lots of women go to their church or mosque for deliveries iii.) Traditional practices - some will always have their babies at home iv.) Cost of healthcare And when complications develop, there is only so much the doctor can do. We have a lot of well trained doctors and medical personnel , but most of these docs are practicing in countries where they are better paid and appreciated. The effect of this is lack of adequate coverage of the country in terms of healthcare and presence of more quacks. Bad cultural practices - Teenage marriage and pregnancies usually have complications. Illiteracy - A lot of people don't know the right things to do, and they will not go to the right sources for information. Having lots of kids - The more pregnancies, the more likely you are to have serious complications. Government's i don't care attitude to all of these problems. So, if we add all these up, we get our high maternal/infant mortality rates. |
Str8talk:I understand your point. ![]() |
Str8talk:I don't think you can compare tinubu to fashola. Fashola obviously has the interest of the people. The reason i say this is, i wonder why Tinubu took 8 years to plan and lay the ground works of so many projects. But in 2 years Fashola has implemented so much of all the things that Tinubu was planning and so much more. They may be of the same party and even more, but they have different focuses. |
No matter how angry you are as a journalist, you shouldn't be prejudiced or talk down on anybody. As a journalist, you are supposed to bring the facts from an emotion free point of view, just like a judge/lawyer. You can still make all your points and be firm until your interviewee answers your question. On the other hand, if you don't use tact in your approach, the interviewee can claim insult and avoid the question all together. |
naija_swag:The emotional state of mind is nothing but trouble. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to defend Mr. Minister, but if we keep allowing our emotions to rule us in Naija, we will always be tribalistic and we will only get things like the jos crisis. |
Black_Revo:I agree that the question was necessary, but it was poorly structured, aggressive and unprofessional. But maybe the minister had it coming. |
mrkoma2012:I see you had to break your silence, ![]() |
boy t:Let us call a spade a spade. Fashola is not even a one-eyed man. He has his 2 eyes open with 20/20 vision. |
So sad and stoopid. And these kind always make home page. |
Wow. I give up!!! |
^^^^ Lagos and Nigeria has been raped for so long. Because of this, we first need to repair all the damage, and that is why democracy will not be the same as it is in places that have been having it good for a while. First, we need to build her self esteem, make sure she(Lagos) hasn't contracted any sexually transmitted diseases, get her pregnancy prevention before we start to buy her new clothes and makeup. I'm happy that we have someone who is not dressing the surface, but someone who is picking at the roots of the problem. The rest will come in time. But brothers and sisters, first things first. |
Kobojunkie:@trueword I think your analysis of the situation is on point. Rome wasn't built in a day. It is only a person without vision that tries to fix all things at the same time and will definitely fail. When you want to kill a snake, you hit it on the head and not the body or the tail. |
I hope it dries up soon. It has been a major problem for us!!! |
The presidency needs to go to the man/woman who has true intentions of leading Nigeria forward and not backwards. The presidency needs to go to the Nigerian who the people choose regardless of tribe or geographical location!!! We need true democracy. |
He speaks the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. And every single one of us knows the truth! We are just too greedy to share the goodies with the next man, ask the man who is complaining now what he'll do when he becomes the president of Nigeria. |
So many posts about Lagos. You only get that kind of attention when things are happening! |
A lot of threads here are started out of spite for the other man's religion or tribe! Anybody who doesn't see that is closing his eyes to those posts on purpose! |
Is this what you call research ![]() |
@Post I think it is only people with small minds that are prejudiced. We need to cure this disease before we can move forward. |
t.truth:That post was since 2006. A lot more has happened since then. |
spikedcylinder:Naija style journalists!!! |
spikedcylinder:Before we continue arguing over non-issues like this, i think you guys should go read the article again. IT IS NOT TAX PAYERS MONEY! It is an appeal fund which will be kept by skype bank until $1 million. members of the SEC are contributing 150k naira each towards the appeal fund!!! |
u4s:Staph aureus keeps resurfacing from where? And by the way, how do you know it is staph aureus. What do you know about staph aureus. Knowledge is power, so i suggest you search for "staphylococcus aureus" under google and you stop paying for wrong services or taking large doses of drugs that may harm your liver and/or kidneys in the future. |
In my opinion, the ability of anybody to walk into a pharmacy and request prescription drugs without a prescription may be killing the Nigerian health sector. Everybody has turned into some kind of doctor and most of the time people are taking the wrong medication, ignoring side effects, and further worsening their problem. If people take time to read the precautions and side effects of many drugs, i doubt you will still be taking it, and that is why these drugs are prescription only in the first instance. I understand that visiting a doctor might seem expensive, but we al know that a stitch in time saves nine. Do the right thing now or else you may suffer greater consequences in the near future. I think if you have fever, you use antimalarials and you don't feel better in 24hrs, you need to see a doctor. I'll like to see other people's point of view on this issue. |
neeema:There are so many possibilities. but the commonest cause/top of my list will be gum disease/gingivitis due to poor oral hygeine. Chronic suppurative respiratory diseases or diseases of the GIT can also be causes. ( i don't expect you to understand all this medical jargon) My point is your friend needs to see a doc/dentist real time, who will ask a couple of questions and then examine him to determine the exact cause of his halitosis (mouth odor) You can run a google search for yourself on halitosis to get more information. |
Dividing Nigeria into North and South will have to be like a divorce. Everything must be negotiated. Everything, including the oil in the Niger Delta, Access to sea ports etc. And if the negotiations become deadlocked, (which is very likely) Then it is war. And one side will have to destroy the other completely. Because, as long as one side can still stand, the war will never end. |
Too many lies. We even lie to ourselves. And we believe our own lies too. |
Nigeria is definitely in the top 5 whether we like it or not. We have a lot of eyes on us, and it is not just because of our potential. That is also why we are judged with higher standards. And things that we(Nigerians) have been used to thinking are trivial will become big news for the world. P.S. I'm not saying this to big up Nigeria, just trying to state my unbiased opinion. |
@poosy_faka and splashbaby this explains why the curse of poverty has our country and continent enchained. so much withcraft ;no invention. splashbaby:Abeg make we hear word. Everything is not always about poverty. Oyinbo no dey get urban legends? @post Don't whistle in the afternoon - it attracts snakes Don't play with your shadow - i dunno what they say it can cause. |
