Meaning it was an empty promise which does not exist. Can you now humbly accept that Nigeria is a cesspool? wink
Is this the point of your thread. I assume so.

Then i guess you should be bold enough to say so rather than beating aimlessly around pictures of cultural shows and punch newspaper.

That wasn't my question. I don't have time for yabis and am still waiting for the UK pictures.
You are not the only one with rights to sarcasm.

You did not answer my question too, so why should i answer yours.

Education will go a long way in solving a lot of problems up there.

You'll notice that the few who have been living down south are ok.

All the pictures are not from lagos state alone. Do you get it now. Anyway, send this one below to fashola and remind him that  children also live in that house.

The picture will look better in HD, as a matter of fact, it will look like little Venice.  Let me know if you want it in HD.

Where was it taken from please?

And it seems you've just discovered HD. You seem so fascinated. i understand. The first time was like that for me too. Couldn't stop talking about it.

i was never aware of the bolded bit,
now that i am aware (if you don't mind but could you oblige me with pictures? and names of the areas) i'll remember to call people to order.

All of this is down to what i've been clamoring for, when people post pictures, they might as well let the viewing audience know what angle the pictures are coming from. HD - High definition?
I am in support of this. If you post any picture, let us know where and when it was taken, so that we can draw the attention of the Lagos government to it.

They have a listening ear.

Have you run out of recent stinky Naija pictures? I thought the whole place was a refuse dump. You should have more from where all that came from.

Or were the pictures from your hoodhuh

@Aloy*emeka

You selectively answer the questions that justify your purpose.

@kobojunkie

Your line of argument doesn't justify this thread. You want to see it all, good bad and ugly or you are only happy to see ugly. practice what you preach please.

You are the one making it personal!!!!

Lets just ascertain the purpose of the thread and i can then let things go.

Can I turn this around and ask you why you do not want these pictures posted. Shame? I mean why not post them? If you go on the Federal Ministry of Education’s site, you will see pictures of dilapidated schools. The reason why those pictures are put up there is so people can see and probably help. So yes, actually helps development.
Do we ALWAYS have to show the process of development in pictures?

Crucifying ALL foreigners for the ignorance of the few is immature, don’t you think?

But Naija in all her glory ought to include the bad and the ugly of it. Don’t you think? Or are we in shame to hide the bad and ugly for some reason? What you have up there takes me back to how we would hide the beggars, and the poor when foreign delegates visit  our states. Is this really how we show Naija in ALL her glory?

note the question marks
I'm sure your profile on facebook doesn't show you in all your "glory". Abeg practice what you preach.

DON'T BELIEVE EVERY PICTURE YOU SEE. THIS ONE IS REAL, BUT THE MESSAGE IS NOT!

Here is a caption i was able to dig up from another website.

"this is simply a group of medical/forensic students doing their thing ( believe me it usually looks bad to none medical personels, but after a month or two in any medical cadaver/dissection room, the scene will look quite normal to you.)

secondly the person being cut open is not a black man. dead bodies usually turn black after some time. and for those of you who might not have had any cut in your life - if you where to cut a fresh body in that form i assure you the whole area will be covered in large amount of blood - that person has obviously been dead for well over 24 hours.

also observe most of the personnel wearing gloves and face masks - not your regular cannibal tea party gear is it. year maybe they're a little crude in their choice of knifes - but hey - thailand is not that advanced in some parts.

and to the more medically inclined people observe the careful way the skeleton is being 'disarticulated'(removed at the joints) and the soft tissue(meat) carfully stripped off the bones - the skeleton will probably show up in some anatomy class near you soon - and yeah there are different techniques for processing the bones which may include heating in some chemical to complete the process.

so putting the pictures of the guys having a lunch break in the mix is just silly and weak. that said please try to enlighten our other black folks who might "accidentally" believe this crap by sending this right back up the mail chain . thank you"

@Post

There are sane people on nairaland. They just sit back and watch the madness. because when you get into a shouting contest with a madman, it is very hard to differentiate the normal guy from the mad one.

Nairaland is a reflection of Nigeria. The few who don't make sense shout down, and rule over a lot of normal people.
PoliticsRe: Deal With Corrupt Nigerian Leaders by ziga: 10:18pm On Jan 16, 2010
flashgeek:
Never assume that because Nigeria is a corrupt country that there are no noble  or disciplined people. An organisation like that will lose the support of the people if it kills innocent people. Remember the group is an independent entity with no political aspiration and it is not asking for ransoms like MEND. The groups identifies a corrupt target and conduct surveillance of the target to know it daily routine. Afterwards the hitman is sent in to erase the target. Members of the group will remain anonymous so there is no way they can pose a threat to innocent Nigerian citizens.

Targets that will be eliminated are individuals that have clearly defrauded the state.

Funding of the organisation will come from private individuals just like the French Resistance during the occupation of France by the GERMANS.
As long as more than one person is involved, it can be infiltrated by people whose only agenda is to make your cause look bad in the eyes of the world.

And then guess who will be the enemy.

Power is going to be in the hands of the "commando" group and power intoxicates. A lot of people always fall into that trap. So who will be there to judge the almighty judge and executioner when he goes out of hand.

Am just trying to punch holes into your plan, because even the best laid out plans have holes in them.
PoliticsRe: Deal With Corrupt Nigerian Leaders by ziga: 9:51pm On Jan 16, 2010
It may start as a good cause until some greedy, criminally minded people infiltrate the group.

These criminally minded guys eventually take over the group, and overthrow the people with the "good intentions".

And then the rates of bombing attacks, assassinations etc targeting even innocent Nigerians for personal grievances will be uncontrollable.

Good people suffer!!!
PoliticsAttention Nigeria1 / Becomrich! by ziga(op): 4:53pm On Jan 16, 2010
For a while now, i have seen your satellite images. And i think there may be a way to put it all to good use.

i know most nigerians on nairaland want a change in the way things are run in the country, and it is a known fact that  we have been robbed in so many ways by all the governments we ever had.

So, my suggestion is that if your maps are a proof of the falsification of population figures, then a suit can be filed against the population commission and any other organization that was involved in the census.

The old population figures will be rendered invalid by the court, and a new census that will be truly reflective of our numbers be done.

knowing our true number will be a big step in stopping electoral fraud in the near future.

Lawyers in the house and anybody with useful contributions are welcome.

Yoruba culturally are great from west Nigeria to togo into east ghana. NO doubt

All these talks about yoruba nationalist can do great harm to yorubas, just as biafran people are doing to igbos on the political scene.
AC didnt show up because its the main opposition party and its not a good image for Tinubu, Fashola and co . . . (I wouldnt have attended either)

while Nigeria exist and yorubas are apart of it - SW politicians shouldnt be seen in yoruba only functions. Yorubas in general need to be seen as  Soyinkas, Ganis, Felas, Fasholas, Herbert macauleys, Ajayi crowthers etc . .
I quite agree with you that leaders have to be careful about the kind of message they are sending out to people, especially in a country like Nigeria where tribal sentiments are thrown at every opportunity.

But also, if we are to consider the way things have been going recently, MASSOB for the SE, MEND for the SS, and all that. I think it is a smart move for Yoruba leaders to come together and start planning a future for the Yoruba population if and when Nigeria falls apart.

It is unfortunate that a lot of talk on Nairaland is about Nigeria dividing, and a smart man will start making plans for his future.

oh, and ikeyman is also on the transplant list. but his name is very low on the list because they discovered that even the brain from a rat won't do him much good.

He is totally wasted!
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Leaders Unite, Float Umbrella Body by ziga: 3:15pm On Jan 16, 2010
Guys, let us bear with wilywily, mekus/sunybobo for a little longer. Neuroscientists are working round the clock to get them a brain transplant.

Actually wilywily already had his brain transplant, but the only brain that was available at that time was from a mule, so they are now trying to get him a brain from a higher animal like a donkey.
