INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
If you have attended an institution outside of a U.S. state or territory, we do not need your institutional transcript. Instead, you are only required to submit an international transcript evaluation. All international transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES-accredited evaluation service (www.naces.org) on a U.S. equivalency, and the evaluation must include a course-by-course evaluation and a GPA calculation. Please upload a copy of your International Transcript Evaluation below.

Good day to the eyes and mind reading this!

Abeg, I have an HND in accounting, and MBA with sustainability Specialization.
I intend to Study my Masters In Business Analytics, or Sustainability and Innovation. I will appreciate your suggestions especially if there are Assistantship / opportunities.

Currently, I have both US and UK intentions, so I can move early. Thanks.
Probably too late for fall 2024 in the US. But if you have WES evaluation, Georgia southern university is waiving application fee till feb 29. They also have your intended program.

I have an HND and PGD Business Management.

Thank you smiley

Good day everyone, thank you so much for the help rendered here.

I intend to Study my Masters In Business Analytics and i will appreciate your suggestions especially if there are Assistantship opportunities.
Currently i hold a valid US B1/B2 still valid for 3years.

Thanks in Anticipation
What Programs are you looking at that require GRE? Most programs do not require it. I’m not sure you will get any funding with a MS in Business Analytics (This is also true for most MSCS, MSDS and MSAI programs). These problems are “hot” cakes and have no incentive to fund students. You should consider a Masters in Statistics or Applied Mathematics. These programs are typically funded usually with a TA and they provide better training if you’re looking to get into Data Science or analytics.

Do you have WES evaluation? I don’t believe your course is quantitative enough for most programs. Check your transcript and see if you’ve taken calculus(up to ODEs and PDES), linear algebra, Differential Equations etc. Good luck

Ok. Anyhow. Congratulations on your offers.

Follow up question my people.
So i saw some schools but they all require GRE GMAT for Ms addmission. Considering my intended course of study, do you think the GRE requirement is general and optional? Also does the GRE GMAT TOEFL help an applicant secure GA or TA or some funding from the institution.

Thanks in anticipation
We can help you secure a 330 GRE score with our support. Do you know that a GRE SCORE of 330 can secure you full scholarship in Canada, US and Australia.
And even boost your chances of getting a student visa.
We've helped countless number of applicants to secure 330 score. 100% guaranteed. You just have to sit back and we will do our thing. Respond to this thread if you are interested. Or send email to naijarazzi29@gmail.com
After you help them secure it, will you also provide the admission and funding? Currently, everyone, their cleaner and grandmother has 320+ on the GRE. It has very little impact on an application.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Zihno: 5:01am On Feb 10, 2024
I don’t know you, but I know some one is charging you 500k+ for At Home GRE. Most reputable programs that provide funding do not require the GRE. In fact, most do not even consider it. Some Universities (ASU comes to mind) do not accept Home based GRE. Instead of paying that amount to scam the system, spend it on getting qualified people to read and help craft your SOP, Personal statements and CV. These are the most important. Customize your CV, PS and SOP for each application. Don’t be selfish to “pay” your recommenders. Most will allow you write the letter while they upload it. Give them something for data and to buy beer. If you can afford 500k+ to have someone write an exam for you, you can afford to pay application fees. Most Universities that do not waive the fees, get very few students and fewer students from Africa. This may work in your favor.

I want to ask a question. I got admission from Oklahoma State University Msc civil engineering but no funding or GA offer. I want to ask if the offer would still come and also what am I going to do to receive my I-20 form. What is the meaning of financials received?
If they don’t include funding information, check the FAQ on their website. Some programs state explicitly that they don’t fund MS students. But there is no harm in reaching out and asking. Just be very polite and mention how excited you are about joining the program.

Regarding my last question, I will like to give a little brief about my journey so far....

I graduated in 2015 (Forest Resources Management), completed NYSC in 2017, worked as a plantation manager between then and January 2021. Travelled to Ghana for a conference in April 2021 and entered UAE from there based on work levels. While working there, I met my current employer via an online seminar where I was a speaker. we got talking and he told me about the idea of establishing a rubber estate in Osun state. I worked remotely with his staff by organising teachings online every week for 1 hour (on my off days). We were able to establish a nursery and budding wood garden in 2021. I also contributed to Osun state establishing 2 million rubber trees through NARPPMAN even while I was working and living in UAE. Fast forward to 2023, I knew I wanted to go for my graduate program so I was prepared to write GRE, wrote that in April when I got back to Nigeria and scored 330 (162 in verbal reasoning, 168 in Quantitative reasoning and 4.5 in analytical writing). Meanwhile, I already took up a position as the head of forestry department with my employer I met online in 2021.

I applied to Michigan Technological University only (it was recommended by our consultant in Germany as he had taken some online certificate courses with the University and vouched for the high level of lecture delivery) for fall 2024. I have gotten admission AND SECURED AN EDUCATIONAL LOAN THROUGH MPOWER FINANCE FOR MY STUDIES.

Going forward, what are my chances at the Visa interview? I have no other source of funding except MPOWER, I am married, my wife isn't going with me as I am coming back to resume my role as head of forestry with my current employer (this time, I will be handling international operations...I have a letter of introduction to that effect from my chairman). Let me also add that the rubber estate project has started with establishment of 10,000 hectares of Hevea brasliensis. we project going into full production of rubber and its by products in the first quarter of 2027.

I will appreciate opinions, questions and thoughts about my case.....thanks and God bless!!!
330/340 from at Home GRE Testing bah? Lol. Foreign Universities know what’s up now from African and Asian students and as such, the GRE has little to no weight in admissions or funding. They look at your transcript.

My advise is to not go any where near the Embassy with MPower or any kind of loan. If you can’t provide a bank statement it means you can’t afford it. If you can’t afford it, it’s automatic refusal. Why would a VO grant a visa to a student that can’t afford the tuition? The F1 is a non immigrant visa which means you’re suppose to go back to your home country at the end of your program. How will a Nigerian pay $50k+ in loans and interest when minimum wage is 240$ annually? It simply shows weak ties and an interest to migrant.

The monies spent on at Home GRE should have been spent applying to other schools and not MTU that has a 10$ processing fee.

Most U.S schools accept only direct LoRs from the Profs. They will only ask for your 2/3 recommenders official email address in the application portal, and contact the Profs directly via email. All four schools I applied to used the same format for accepting LoRs so I don't know if it's a new normal.
This may be unethical or immoral but you can create random gmail accounts. Then get official letterhead from your school, make colored copies and use them for your LORs. You can upload the letters yourself via the gmail. Universities will accept it especially if it’s on Uni letter headed paper.

Any PhD or Masters Economics applicant to these schools? If any, let's link up.

West Virginia University?
University of Maine?
Western Illinois University?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for decisions very soon.

Again, I would like to ask about the possibility of getting a PhD Economics through B.Sc degree in Economics from Nigeria. People often say that Economics in Nigerian Universities ain't quantitative and mathematical enough compared to Ghana and South Africa.

So I would like to know if you've seen any Nigerian who obtained PhD admission in Economics in the USA through his/her B.Sc degree in Economics

Note: I'm not disputing my chances though, I have a first class degree in Economics, a very good recommendation letter, 333 in GRE (170 in Quantitative, 163 in Verbal) and also have three years research experience with a top consulting firm in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Degree is quantitative Enough. I know someone who got a fully funded PhD in Economics with a Degree in Economics (and statistics. The person graduated from Uniben). Typically, the department website will have a list of prerequisite courses you should have taken in your undergraduate program. If the courses are listed in your transcript, you shouldn’t have any problems. But understand that Economics is very competitive and most programs accept <3 students yearly. I believe you should have applied to more programs but I’m confident you’d get in somewhere. When you do, don’t forget to come and buy me beer.

First of all, you need schools offering application fee waivers or free applications without charging you fees.

Below are some schools where you can apply for free without having to pay application fees, and most of them offer full funding without deficit to PhD applicants.

1. University of Maryland, College Park, $75 application fee waived for applicants to the School of Engineering- https://mage.umd.edu/application-process

2. Vanderbilt University- No application fee for all PhD programs- https://engineering.vanderbilt.edu

3. Tulane University- No application fee for all PhD programs- https://sse.tulane.edu/academics/graduate/phd-programs

Hopefully, other experienced Nairalanders in mentorship can mentor you further. All the best.
Please ignore this guy.

If you can afford it, apply to schools that REQUIRE APP FEES and OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT/EVALUATION. They tend to get less applicants which in turn increases your chances.

Hey 🤠

The average GRE score would depend on your preferred university and subject of choice.

However, a GRE score between 150 and 160 in the GRE Verbal and GRE Quantitative Sections would make you eligible to apply to most universities in the US and can be referred to as the average GRE scores of US universities.

1. Even Havard University lowest GRE score intake is 260 . Therefore YOUR GRE SCORE will enters 75% of Universities in the United States .

*** Any one can even GOOGLE this info.

Best Wishes 🙏
This is wrong information. Nowadays, a Quant score of 160 is “low”. And this person is seeking funding. Sending such score will greatly reduce his chances of getting funding and admission. Secondly, where did you get this Havard stats? Seeing as Havard CS department and most(All I believe) departments don’t accept GRE scores. This is why no one comments here anymore. Too many people saying what they don’t know.

Thanks for your input.

He is travelling via study route.
So the DOB in his passport is different from the one on his credentials.

This is to say, the DOB on NIN is incorrect. And that was what was used.

If we edit the NIN, How do we edit the one on passport?
Passport uses age on NIN. Typically, they should have corrected the age on the NIN before applying for renewal. Your NIN is linked to your passport nowadays.

I have a very important inquiry here for my sister who is currently trying to transition into the USA medical field, So, by any chance Do we have any Nigerian female Medical students or doctor in this forums who has done this successfully?
If so please what are your challenges?
How did you transits?
Any further education or licensing needed?
What could she possibly expect?

Your answers to my questions would be highly appreciated.
Here isn’t the right place to ask this question. If your sister is really a medical doctor, then she should know the routes Drs use to leave this country. This thread is mostly for student Visas.

Associate degree is like OND.

If you combined OND + HND is far above BSc in unit or credit especially if you have upper credit or distinction.
I got into PhD programs with My HND in the US.
