Guys,my lappy is an hp touchsmart tx2-1015ea. Procesor AMD turion,3gig ram with vista home. Wen i boot,d lites wuld com on but d screen wuld not display. A guy chekd it & says dat d board is bad & dat i shouldn't hav bought AMD but intel,dat AMD always causes such problems. Now,am in a fix don't no what 2 do,anybody wit any idea,is welcom. Thanks.

hook it up to standalone monitor and see the results and we take it from there

hello NL, i have an issue with my laptop. it was given to me as a gift. but the battery does not charge tho the light comes on initially but goes off after a while. the laptop is compaq nc8230. can somebody tell me what to do. i even bought a new battery thinking the old one was bad but the same.

what does the status say when the light is on ? does it say charging ?

have you tried the new battery on different laptop ?

I tried this but it does not appear on the list of programs files. This is windows 7 by the way.

those steps will lead to the program files in your pc not program list through the start button

I installed some programs successfully but cannot find them under the program list. I have even done a search for theses programs but I cannot find them. These very programs are visible under the uninstall menu in the control panel.

try this --- start --- computer --- your hard drive (what ever the name it has) ---- programs --- then you should able to see the program you want and start it from there and also put the short cut to start the program on desktop

this is based on windows 7 what OS do you have

dont turn them off there essential update are there to improve security, performance etc

some few weeks ago i spilt a little drink on my laptop, i very quickly turned it upside down, gave it a quick wipe and voila, all seems fine

but i noticed whenever i press the Down button (the down Arrow) the page goes straigh to the bottom, instead of scrolling down gradually
what could be the problem, have i pressed too hard on the buttons while cleaning it or something is 'touching'

just buy another keyboard

pls i formatted my desktop with xp,and i dont knw where to download my ethernet,vga drivers, av searchd google already

we always tell people to download LAN DRIVER or WIRELESS before formatting and save on them somewhere (not on the same pc you about to format) this especially for windows xp

that way you will be able to get back online and download the rest of the drivers

what kind of pc thats doesnt have support service to download drivers?

you can make a copy of the key and open the doors manually but as long the key doesnt have the chip corespond with ECU the car will never start it will only crunk

check common problem of ECU against your car model

you will see that most problem are direct link to the ECU its self but the ECU is just reporting FAULT found in sensors connected to it

see were it says COMMON ECU FAULTS --- click on AUDI you will find most common faults picked and show by the ECU but not saying the ECU its fault

@ZIM DRILL , please i have a problem with my 2007 honda accord. The ECU went dead and was changed by my mechanic. The new problem now is that the car batery runs down after 5-6 hours of being parked. i want to believe  it is the new ECU . The mechanic has not been able to trace the fault  to any known part. but i have a hunch it is the ECU . what do you think?

i have seen many problems of ECUs here and i wonder what happens in nigeria here in UK  its rare for ECU to go dead, only that dealership rip people off when they lose key they charge £500 and above to change engine ECU and anti theft one

as for your problem something is left running or still get live feed from the battery even with the ignition off

tell what really happened to your ECU it cant just die unless there was a short wiring


ONE KEY THING a mechanic and auto electrician are different people both work with cars but a mechanic does mechanical while auto electrician does the electric

though most some african mechanics cover both which is not good if he was not trained to be an auto electrician he can damage electrics and are expensive to find problems and repair compared to mechanical problems

My neighbour had similar issue with his chysler neon (or na Dodge neon) a car to behold. The car brain box was bad and he was unable to get the brain box after like 9 months of extensive search in Abuja, Kaduna and Lagos. He used different chysler neon brain box all to no avail, its either it wont supply power or it wont start the car. He had to send the brain box to united state. I even posted the issue on this site (nairaland) when i saw one brain box specialist dealer. As at that time, the brain box had lost in transit so i couldnt provide the serial number.
The car was grounded for more than a year before he eventually sold the car as scrap to Apo (Abuja spare part market) spare part dealer at a ridiculous and annoying price. after spending so much money on it.
Trust naija mechanics, they even told him they could replace the engine with Toyota engine and tberefore use toyota brain box

Best thing to do is to first check for availability of a car spare parts before buying it

i can conclude that he met backyard autoelectricians

if the ECU aka brainbox was dead all he need was and ECU thats doesnt require the communication with key

cars now days have keys thats talk to the ECU on the ignition barrel there is a ring of wire thats reads a code or frequence in key once they match that will let current to fuel pump

if they dont match the car will just crunk

so there were supposed to get an ECU that is code free

zim,u eva said dv6000series wasnt designed for windows 7, if dis guy is sure its not a hardware problem then i can conveniently sit windows 7 on d laptop even using d simpliest method, load xp professional or vista and load all d drivers then proceed to do an UPGRADE to windows 7, it wld automatically integrate the old drivers into windows 7.
difficult way:d clean installation-d drivers are surely not open on d hp driver website but there are certain win7 drivers(ATI high def audio drivers) dat are very compactible , depending on d archietecture of the laptop, for novices,try method 1

the reason i said it was not designed for windows 7 is that from the manufacturer web site WINDOWS 7 is not listed

hence the problem

why try to force it when you know that the pc wont give you the best out of windows 7 becoz the pc is meant for VISTA and below

Zim, yes I downloaded the driver from the HP site itself. The actual model of the HP Pavilion notebook is dv6910us (dv6700). I have even tried Microsoft UAA, still no joy. If you have any more option, I'll appreciate and I can still try. I just need a way out of this.

I've once make a post about my audio problem in dv6700 and later took it to a repairer since all driver couldn't work the problem and the person told me that my sound IC is bad. Please, am asking if anyone can help find this IC for me, it serial no. is [b]KB3920QF [/b]so that I can get my sound back. I've check around computer accessories shops here in Calabar to no avail. I need you guys help pls. Again, my CD/DVD ROM is dissappearing from Explorer window and when I check it from Device Manager, it shows: HD-DT%ST  DVDRAE GSA-T20N ATA device with a yellow exclamation mark. I have tried using the Device Manager to update the driver automatically but still no joy. Pls help because I cannot used my CD/DVD ROM any longer. Find pix attached on what I meant.

as for the DVD google you find a solution i once had a problem like that and had to google for solution i cant remember what i did and sorry for now am busy i would have searched it for you

My laptop- HP Pavilion DV2, sometimes back had the problem of detecting USB flash stick.

So for over 3months I've not been able to use flash drives. I've re-installed all drivers and nothing seems to be working.
