Check and make sure your emergency brakes are not on. In some vehicles, they can be found
beside the driver's seat, near the transmission lever while in others they are placed near
the foot pedals. Emergency brakes placed near the foot pedals are the most problematic.
People sometimes depress them without knowing.

I just bought a toyota camry 2003 model xle.I just serviced it with AP visco 2000.is this a good engine oil and is it compatible with toyota cars? Also pls what automatic transmission fluid, steering oil fluid, brake fluid and coolant should I use.

I have decided to begin this thread to see if I can get help. I bought a 2005 toyota highlander from Contonou in Nov 2001. The vehicle developed? Gear box prbs in Akure and we were advised to change it. However, ppl who made me tnk they were experts advised against buying the type of gear box that came wit d car - 13 pin gear box, since, according to them, it is too sensitive and cld easily get spoilt. So they sugested conversion of the gear box system.
Naïve as I was, I agreed to buy a 9-pin and then a 12-pin gear box wn d 9-pin failed. The 12-pin gear box has also failed.
As I write, the car has been parked in my house as the 12 - pin gear box has also failed. Wot do I do next? Is conversion of gear box good? Anybody wit useful sugestions? I'll appreciate!

luvtoyota: Recently acquired a 2008 ACURA MDX THROUGH A DEALER , on nairaland . Car is like brand new . Mileage 33K . Car recently started showing check transmission on the dashboard display screen . With flashing D drive lever light , took it to a technician who used a computer and said no problem . He erased the message . After driving for about 20 minutes the lights came back on . Took it to the electrician who said he will service the drive switch . Light went off after service . Next day I start the car , drove for about 30 minutes , check transmission light and flashing D light show again . I was adviced to disconnect battery for 20 min and reconnect . Light disappeared . Now it's showing again on my way back from church this afternoon .

What should I do please . Any experts on NL ? HAS ANY ONE HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE ?

I,ve got an 05 accord which i service every 5months. However after servicing it last week thursday, the *maintenance required* signal came up on sunday and its been there till today. Note that it was not there before i serviced the car. Please is this something i should be worried about cos im driving the car like that and it drives fine.

*By servicing i mean change of oil and oil filter*

wellheads: Car gurus, please clarify this for me. If I have a factory fitted tinted glass, do I still need police tint permit?
Or does the fact that it is factory tinted exempt me from police tint permit? Answers needed urgently, please.

I'm not conversant with the technicalities however, i ve changed so many things and changed it entirely. Now it is discovered that my tank is dented from the bottom. Though i know my tank is dented for some time now but the last guage manage to work for about 2 months even with the dent. The mechanics advised me to involve panel beater to work on it. To be frank, i'm just tired about this guage issue.

yemmight: The gear recently refused to reverse and i was advised it could be worked upon. The stupid mechanic collected some money from me and the car worked just a week and stopped.

Please how can I get a tokunbo gear and reliable Gear Master to fix it. Please house i dont want to fall victim of another mechanic because i have been advised to go buy another gear.

I have to re-iterate that you cannot make allegations about Mugabe's motives or sincerity with out providing hard evidence and it is nit sufficient to say that you grew up in Zimbabwe, because that does not constitute evidence to support your view.

andrewza: Yes SA had support from both the UK and USA but that dried up and we where left with out a friend in the word by the 80s

There are other problems.
Lake of foreign investors government polices
Poor image thanks to the land reform
Sudden loss of major trade (thanks to badly run land reform)
Loss of skilled works fleeing tough economic conditions
Massive corruption
Extra
Sanction are only one of many things causing the trouble but it is the biggest thing preventing recovery

Was it a brave thing to stand up to the west? Yes
Was it smart? No
Was it the right thing to do? Looking at the out come no. It was a stupid move that he knew would end badly for him.

Mugabe can not be called a african hero. Because he only cares about his tribe. The things he has done toblack Africans he worse than what he did to the whites.

I believe that 95% of the blame for Zimbabwe's economy is due to the sanctions.

I am proud that Mugabe decided to take a stance against the West and show them that African leaders are sometimes capable of defying them and charting their own course.
