AutosRe: 30% Reduction In Port Fees! No More Reapin Off Customers by ziontrain: 12:45am On Nov 07, 2008
Nairalanders, before we get excited, are we sure 30% reduction in port charges is the same as 30% reduction in import duty? Can someone please confirm this.

I second @Igwe1. This is what we're talking about. Being upfront and Transparent - I salute Mr. Inspired for this policy. There is serious market for salvaged vehicles that have been fixed and backed with dealer's warranty. I will be surprised if this car stays long on the market especially with the 6 months warranty. This is a good sign for nairaland. We are getting there.

Thank you @Igwe1. We are against the principle of deception here and not individuals. I just woke up today only to find out that these inspired people are all over me with vicious attack!

For the life of me, I cannot understand. See how long it took to build a man's reputation and see how quickly it got tarnished. While this man is busy fighting everybody, Yahoo and Phammyus have redeemed themselves and doing business, babeisme is doing business and he is still stuck where he is running after everybody.

Seun banned him for a week, instead of him to use that as an opportunity for reflection, mend his ways, clean up his acts, come back and pick up his business where he left off, he decided to register new user names and fight everybody. So unrepentant! Why won't he just clean up his acts and continue with his business instead of sinking his own reputation day after day. I am yet to find anyone with such penchant for self-destruction. This man still has a chance to redeem his image and is refusing to take the opportunity. He will still be welcomed back by nairalanders. It is not too late but time is not on his side.
AutosRe: Chassis Number Or VIN Is Recommended On Every Listing by ziontrain: 3:40pm On Oct 22, 2008
Please note that the reply below is in response to the posting above (which has now been removed) by asitis - I don't know why he deleted the posting but it was about his accusation that I have personal vendetta against Inspired:

No, this is not case of Buyer Beware. Buyer will not beware anything! We will not let crooks destroy the reputation of hardworking and responsible car dealers on this forum.

If you believe I have personal vendetta against inspired, that's your problem. I don't care one bit about that. All I know is that we will not let him destroy the reputation of the auto section of nairaland. Why don't you mention a word about him (inspired) becoming transparent, honest and upfront about VIN? Afterall, that is what this is all about.

Do you think Phammyus and Yahoo will keep on posting their ads without VIN and issue death threats on this forum and everyone will be looking at them? Why can't he just clean up his acts and everyone will be happy to welcome him back into the fold? I believe in redemption and I still feel this inspired can redeeem himself by coming clean. What's wrong with that?
AutosRe: Chassis Number Or VIN Is Recommended On Every Listing by ziontrain: 2:33pm On Oct 22, 2008
Look here, I am very, very interested in that Phammyus Acura that he posted. I do not have evidence that it's not a 2004 yet and he has promised to post VIN number so let's wait and see. If he does not post VIN after a short while, then we will take up issue with him. I do not believe in jumping on anyone without proof.

Secondly, Ziontrain will never have another username on this forum, NEVER EVER! The problem is that crooks always think everyone is like them and so it's not possible for anyone to have one username. Well, I do and always will - no matter what.

@Layifioren, I am in North Dallas.
AutosRe: > by ziontrain: 5:49pm On Oct 21, 2008
@adexcarz, I really feel bad for your situation. This is a tough one. Do you know anyone even in New Jersey that has a yard at their home that you can drop the vehicle with temporarily? New York is pretty scary for a car without plate number.

You can also look for a shipper and have the car moved to their warehouse and this should free you from your current nightmare. I am in Dallas but the guys in the east coast can link you up with car movers that can move the vehicle in a matter of hours and they will also link you up with shippers.

I will suggest you contact Jenju at "tikola70@hotmail.com". He should be able to sort something out for you.

@Goldcircle, ask your colleague to send VIN quickly otherwise, nairalanders will start thinking you are one of those dealers hiding it for reasons everyone is aware of.

@Busy_body, now I am convinced you are female. I was still doubting - that thinking you are a male hiding behind a mask. I don't think it is fair for me to engage you the way I engage the bad boys here so I will let you be. If not for the respect I have for women, you would have had a "good time" with me. You must admit however that you started this thing off by being disrespectful to me and attacking me unnecessarily in your posting without any provocation whatsoever. Unfortunately, you picked the wrong man to attack.

Be that as it may, let me just say that it is not my intention to insult people on this forum without provocation more especially a woman. In view of this, I will like to express my sincere apology to you for everything I said that may have hurt your feelings. Have a blessed week.

Car TalkRe: Impacts Of Salvaged Cars To Human by ziontrain: 4:06pm On Oct 19, 2008
@Layifioren,

Good contribution. You can continue buying your salvaged cars and cars that have been marked as junk by CARFAX. I wish you happy and safe driving. However, I beg to differ regarding your statistics that 3 out of 7 cars in the US have been in some sort of accident. I will like to know your source of information because that is not the true for US cars. And if a car has been involved in an accident, it is not automatically given junk or salvaged title - it depends on how bad the accident is. I am sorry, I do not believe junk title is given to a car with fender damage - that cannot possibly be true in America, no I don't believe it - you will have to provide evidence sir. Also, if a car has accident history, it does not mean it's a bad car but buyer has a legitimate reason to know the history of the car he/she is buying, that is why CARFAX report is important. If you have an explanation for why the title of your car is salvaged e.g. due to theft, say so and provide evidence but buyer still needs to know the history of the vehicle. Think about it, of all clean-titled cars that are in the whole of America, should a dealer go for the ones with salvaged title or junk title because they are very inexpensive as no one wants them in America and then sell them as normal cars in nigeria? I don't think so.

For other Nairalanders, I will recommend you stay away from cars that have been marked as junk and salvaged. There are a lot more cars without problems out there than those with salvage and junk titles so why do you want to buy salvaged cars? The reason people buy salvaged cars and cars marked as junk is because they are very inexpensive in America and people value their lives here - I think my life is worth more than a cheap and inexpensive car. My 2 cents.

Modification after initial posting

You did not state your statistics are for nigeria so I assumed they are for US as we're discussing about US vehicles and CARFAX. Also, I have said it in one of my postings on nairaland not long ago that there is market in Nigeria for salvaged titled vehicles that have been properly repaired but that buyers should be given full disclosure - I just don't recommend that buyers should go for these types of cars for obvious reasons (nigeria factor).
AutosRe: Chassis Number Or VIN Is Recommended On Every Listing by ziontrain: 8:06pm On Oct 18, 2008
Psalm 2:

"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine in vain?

The "kings" of nairaland set themselves and the "rulers" take counsel together, against the Lord and his anointed, saying

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

Yet have I set my King upon my holy hill of Zion".

@Busy_body, you cannot clone VIN sir! VIN number provided to nairaland will always be compared to that on the car. Only fools will buy car without matching the VIN of CARFAX to the actual VIN on the car they want to buy.

Secondly, US is not nigeria where you can steal a car and re-register it anyhow. What do you think America is? A banana republic? Please educate yourself about the procedure of registration in the US. If title is rebuilt, it will still show on CARFAX report. And also don't misquote me, I said CARFAX is more up-to-date and hence more reliable than other sources - I was not defending anyone. I was only being fair. Where I come from, being fair is not a crime sir!

I just realized that this Busybody is female and her statistics show she spends most of her time in the Romance section. Maybe I should not have been so rough with her. Anyway, we don't do romance here, we do serious business. I think she should go back to her first love - Romance section.

@layifioren, I am a registered car dealer here in the US sir! I have the car dealers' manual which includes all the rules and regulations. IT IS ILLEGAL SIR, to advertize used cars for sale in the US without disclosing the VIN - IT IS ILLEGAL!!
AutosRe: Chassis Number Or VIN Is Recommended On Every Listing by ziontrain: 2:39pm On Oct 18, 2008
@Igwe1, I feel you but you have to understand what we are up against here. These are very hardened people. They will not give up easily. They will either get a new laptop/PC and/or use dynamic IP. VIN number will do the job if we can get Seun to see the big picture. We need to be patient with him as he is a very busy person and to manage a website like this is no small task - he has done very well to give us this much attention in auto section here.
AutosRe: Chassis Number Or VIN Is Recommended On Every Listing by ziontrain: 2:18pm On Oct 18, 2008
Seun,

Please ask this Busy_body to give you just one reason why providing VIN number of vehicles from the US is a bad idea. We have seen how VIN number has helped us in identifying dubious car dealers on this forum. Please read between the lines, why are these people against providing VIN for US vehicles, why? By the way, it is against the law to advertize a car for sale without VIN number in the US just because of the problem of dubious car dealers.

@Busy_body, looks like you just came back from Yorkshire this time around!!  grin grin Secondly, buying second-hand car in the US does not come with CAVEAT EMPTOR - have you not heard of Lemon Law?

@Igwe1, please don't go anywhere, we have to continue this worthy cause of sanitizing this forum until these unscrupulous dealers are made to change their ways or go elsewhere and carry on with their filthy activities. Good people must never leave the house for bad guys. Remain strong my brother, God is in control.
