BusinessRe: FEC Approves Tax Incentives For Dangote by ziontrain: 3:22am On May 19, 2016
I can't believe everyone is missing the BIG story here!

The BIG story is not the Tax exemption. It is the fact that the road will be built using CEMENT i.e. CONCRETE as done in the U.S. and some other countries. Imagine what will happen to the demand for Cement if government approves road construction using Concrete in Nigeria - This could be a major game changer. This Dangote man is a genius!

@Baconline, I really like this your honesty. There is very serious market for U.S. repaired Salvaged Title vehicles in Nigeria. Full disclosure is the key. I wish all the best my brother!
AutosRe: Where Is Ziontrain? by ziontrain: 4:54pm On Sep 15, 2009
The Great Igwe!! I have been in trance seeking God for Nairaland, saw many visions but will wait for now, (just kidding).

I still have my 2 feet here in America and 2 eyes on Nairaland. I can see quite a lot of improvement. Car biz has picked up significantly here in the U.S. so I slowed down on Naija end. Maybe I will be back soon as this nairaland is very tempting and addictive! God Bless sir!
Car TalkRe: Odometer Rollback: Salvaged Cars: And Ridiculous Budgets by ziontrain: 1:02pm On Mar 31, 2009
Nairalanders,

I thought we have settled this issue of salvaged cars and VIN number a while ago. Anyway, if you are a dealer and don't have access to register with CARFAX or Autocheck for VIN number, you can easily post your VIN on the forum here and one of our many helpful dealers on nairaland will help you check it out for FREE. It's as simple as that. If you don't want potential customers to ask for VIN number then maybe this forum is not the best place to advertise your car. The internet has given people access to a lot of information that they otherwise will not have.

I do understand @viperman's point that Naija dealers obtain cars from importers and it could sometimes be cumbersome checking every single VIN number but unfortunately, we all have to do our due diligence particularly because of access to information on the internet. Unfortunately, the internet is a two-edged sword, on the one hand, it makes information available and on the other it makes doing business a bit more cumbersome for those who intend marketing cars imported by someone else.
AutosRe: Nairaland Autos In Recession, We Need Bailout. by ziontrain: 6:51pm On Mar 24, 2009
Nairalanders,

Due to the wild and violent swing of the value of the Naira vis-a-vis the U.S. Dollar, a lot of dealers based abroad have decided to "sit out" the instability until the situation becomes more predictable. This is what is responsible for the dearth (not the death) of imported vehicles on nairaland. Very soon, we will be back!

AutosRe: 2006 Honda Accord With Navigation by ziontrain: 3:51pm On Feb 19, 2009
Nairalanders,

First of all, let me salute the honest way @Cashmoni has presented his car. He even highlighted the areas of concern in Bold Font letting us know that the vehicle has some history and Salvage Title.

What I do not understand is this @gestapo's posting. Frankly, I think it is malicious, amounts to derailment of thread and should be deleted. Instead of @gestapo to chase those who advertise cars without VIN number and those who do deceptive marketing, he/she is busy running down an honest car dealer that has made it plain that his car has some history. This gestapo man/woman is even posting CarFax report of 1999 Nissan! What has this got to do with 2006 Honda being advertised?

Monitor_1 kindly delete this stupid posting please!!

@Carshopper,

I salute the honest way you advertise your cars. More vaseline to your elbow sir! By the way, your cars really look nice and clean.
AutosRe: Is This True About Igwe1 by ziontrain: 9:33pm On Feb 11, 2009
@Busy_body, please open your eyes and read the reply of @Cashmoni. Tell me one other person that has been banned in auto section aside from Inspired and Cosjo before this Igwe's incident. Instead of you to address the main issue of gloating you are just beating about the bush looking for irrelevant issues.

Inspired is not a god here in nairaland that his name cannot be mentioned as long as it's not done maliciously. I am through with this thread now.
AutosRe: Derailing Car Adverts Threads by ziontrain: 3:39pm On Feb 11, 2009
@Jesarmy,

God Bless you for your suggestion. I agree with you wholeheartedly! We should all encourage one another and not pull one another down. If we find discrepancy in an Advertisement, we should email the seller quietly and give him/her time to respond before posting discrepancy on the forum. May this 2009 be a year of prosperity for all of us.
AutosRe: Buy Me Now! For 6 Million by ziontrain: 3:24pm On Feb 11, 2009
@Martins00,

We know this is public forum but please keep your foul language at home before you start typing here. Nairalanders want to keep conversations civil and decent on the forum. Also, kindly understand that we all have to follow laid down procedure for marketing our vehicles - Owner should post the VIN number and you should stop insulting people, particularly women. We should at least give them the respect they deserve on this forum.
AutosRe: Is This True About Igwe1 by ziontrain: 9:46pm On Feb 10, 2009
Please let's use this forum for something meaningful instead of gloating over people in unfortunate situation. If he was banned so what? Wasn't Cosjo banned before? Wasn't Inspired banned before? Did anybody gloat over them? We are not even sure whether your rumour is true but let's stop the gloating please! This is 2009. I wish all nairalanders success this new year.
AutosRe: Accidented Car Section by ziontrain: 4:46am On Feb 10, 2009
@Cashmoni,

This is what we are talking about - transparency and honesty. More vaseline to your elbow! As long as you can give some waranty to the buyer and vehicle has been restored, I see no problem with buying this car. God Bless you for your transparency. Let's hope this will encourage more people with Salvaged Cars that have been satisfactorily restored to come forward with this type of transparency.
AutosRe: 2008 Acura Rdx Technology Package ( One In Africa, Live With Inspired ) by ziontrain: 1:18am On Feb 10, 2009
@Busy_body and @Promise72,

In the spirit of unity, let us allow peace reign as you have suggested. I do not expect any apology from anyone for anything. No one has offended me at this point in time. If we can all go with the suggestion of @Busy_body and allow peace to reign, this forum will be a much better place. Let us all bury the hatchet and do some business. I wish everyone a very successful 2009.
AutosRe: 2008 Acura Rdx Technology Package ( One In Africa, Live With Inspired ) by ziontrain: 6:37pm On Feb 09, 2009
@Busy_body,

Please don't drag me into this mess. I have made an undertaking not to jump into Inspired's thread but this time I have to set the records straight.

At no time have I made any posting discrediting Salavaged Cars. Instead, I continue to say that there is serious market for salvaged cars that have been restored. All I am against is deceptive marketing i.e. presenting Salvaged cars without evidence of restoration or any waranty as clean-title cars. Full disclosure is all I have asked for. Please get your facts right.
AutosRe: Ridiculous Car Prices by ziontrain: 3:00pm On Feb 05, 2009
@Emperoh,

Please stop misquoting me. How many times have I said it here that there is serious market for Salvaged Titled vehicles that have been fixed. Who said it is a crime to buy salvaged titled vehicle? Where did you get that from. Please get your facts right before you start typing.

What we are talking about here is how can some car prices be so ridiculously cheap and I was trying to show the lady how this is possible. You mentioned that you deal in Salvaged Titled vehicle but didn't you say you fix them up before selling? What I was saying is that a lot of those ridiculously cheap cars are not fixed and are death traps. Anything wrong with that analysis? Please get your facts right next time before presenting your long story.
AutosRe: Ridiculous Car Prices by ziontrain: 4:24am On Feb 05, 2009
My sister, I don't know what auction site you go but trust me the prices are ridiculously low for salvaged title cars in the US. Secondly, those cars that you see in Nigeria are not repaired at all so they are really death traps.

I doubt that there are cars that check out on Nairaland with ridiculously low price. If you find one, please let me know maybe I will buy and re-sell.
AutosRe: Ridiculous Car Prices by ziontrain: 2:52am On Feb 05, 2009
earTHMama,

The cars are not bought at the open market. They are bought at Salvage dealers' auction - not open to the public. Those cars cost next to nothing there. The prices are just unbelievable! That's why they are so cheap in Nigeria and remember, they don't flush or repair those cars before bringing them over.
AutosRe: Ridiculous Car Prices by ziontrain: 1:17am On Feb 05, 2009
@earTHMama,

Wonders will never cease! Welcome to Nigeria!

The reasons for this are not far fetched. These dubious dealers buy what is called "Salvaged Titled" cars in America - this means cars that are damaged and authorities will not allow you to use them in America without substantial repairs e.g. cars that have been flooded, accidented or with serious defects. As no one wants them in the US, they are sold at ridiculously low prices hence the low price in Nigeria. In order to blow their secret open, ask them (the dealers in Nigeria) for the VIN number of the vehicle and come to nairaland and request for someone to get you a report of the vehicle. That report can be obtained with the VIN number and there are nairalanders that offer this service for FREE!

So, in a nutshell, that's the secret my sister. This is why VIN number is mandatory in nairaland and that is also why unscrupulous and dubious dealers on nairaland are fighting tooth and nail to prevent that from happening. God will not allow them to succeed.
AutosRe: Welcome To New Auto Section by ziontrain: 5:39pm On Feb 04, 2009
Mr. Cosjo,

You want me to give my identity and phone number to an slowpoke and to those who have threatened the life of Phammyus? What a joke! You are really, really smart and very intelligent - you are a genius! I should come and tell you what I do - you should have met me in Cayman Islands. I think you will soon replace Ali Baba. Seriously, I think you will do well as a comedian!
AutosRe: Welcome To New Auto Section by ziontrain: 5:21pm On Feb 04, 2009
Mr. Cosjo,

Go and ask Romeobest, he will give you the answer!!
AutosRe: Welcome To New Auto Section by ziontrain: 5:16pm On Feb 04, 2009
Cosjo,

You are new on this forum! Nice try! You will have to try something more intelligent than that. If you are new on this forum, what about Romeobest and the others? Abeg, try another one please!
AutosRe: Welcome To New Auto Section by ziontrain: 5:11pm On Feb 04, 2009
Mr. Cosjo,

Are you that dumb? You are asking if I am a dealer or hustler! If you don't know the answer, you need to have your head examined - what are you doing here then?
AutosRe: Welcome To New Auto Section by ziontrain: 5:06pm On Feb 04, 2009
Mr. Cosjo,

There's a difference between Car Dealers i.e. those who own their vehicles and hustlers who peddle other people's vehicles, register multiple IDs and keep on creating postings to sell cars and reply themselves using their other IDs thinking nairalanders are fools. They don't realize people are really amused watching them.

Most Car dealers in the US on this forum sell cars on the side - their lives don't depend on it unlike the hustlers. Nothing wrong in hustling as long as you hustle in an honest way. It is those dishonest, crooked and dubious hustlers that we are against. God willing, they will either turn a new leaf or leave this forum.

Dealers from US are waiting for Naira to stabilize and some travelled to Cayman Islands and other places, that's why there's a lull in their activities.
AutosRe: Welcome To New Auto Section by ziontrain: 4:49pm On Feb 04, 2009
OK - And Romeobest is the HONEST dealer!!

I think business has dried up for some people and they are so bitter, envious and bent on destroying successful dealers! You don't gain anything by trying to destroy honest and legitimate people. What God has blessed, no man can curse! You will just continue digging your doom.

AutosRe: 2006 Volkswagen Passat Sedan 2.0t Low Mileage,14 months or 17,400 miles WARANTY! by ziontrain: 4:10pm On Feb 04, 2009
Mr. Cosjo or which of your names do I use now,

Let me give you a piece of advice. Go and think about an honest and decent way to rebuild your battered image and business. This your Jenjuphobia will not help you. Let Jenju be Jenju and you be yourself. There are over a quarter of a million registered members on this forum not to talk of unregistered members - the market is too big to be controlled by one individual. If you keep on envying Jenju or any other dealer, you will be distracted from what God has called you to be and from your destiny. Just do your own thing and leave Jenju alone.
AutosRe: 2006 Volkswagen Passat Sedan 2.0t Low Mileage,14 months or 17,400 miles WARANTY! by ziontrain: 3:56pm On Feb 04, 2009
@Jesarmy,

PLEASE START A NEW THREAD FOR THIS VEHICLE.

I do apologise for interrupting your thread but we need to stop this nonsense of people hijacking threads and turning it into something else once and for all. Please take it that you are paying the price for greater good of this forum. After investing hard-earned money into a business, we should not sit down and let idle people hijack threads and distract legitimate customers. This is just not fair.

As for @Romeobest, I mean @Cosjo - I have even lost count of how many names you have on this forum, I will take care of you at the appropriate time. I guess you are still licking your wounds. I thought I would meet you at Cayman Island to console you a little bit. In your own interest, I will suggest you stay away from me! A word should be enough for the wise. This is 2009.

@Busy_body, again this is 2009. Keep your foul and uncouth language at home before coming here please. We know this is public forum but at least we can be civil and decent in our utterances. We are not here to insult one another, this is 2009 please. I did not mention anyone by name but only made polite appeal to all nairalanders. What's the problem with that?
AutosRe: 2006 Volkswagen Passat Sedan 2.0t Low Mileage,14 months or 17,400 miles WARANTY! by ziontrain: 4:35am On Feb 04, 2009
Nairalanders, this is 2009. Can we please stop inadvertently hijacking this thread and distracting potential buyers. It is just not fair. If you are not interested in buying the vehicle just read the posting and go. Seller has invested hard-earned money and wants to just sell the vehicle. Let us try and help one another this new year.
