Anybody has any idea how fast Adebayor ran yesterday. He seemed to be accelerating as he sped towards the Ass-nal fans!

I was having a drunken argument with a mate in a pub, we were trying to compare Ade B's speed with Usain B's. To me Ade B seemed to have covered ground a lot faster

I now worship the new god, Adeboye. He has done a lot of miracles in his lifetime. Infact he's now the official number one Christian, bigger than the pope. Infact he's so good. I wanted to take my bath, the hot water was not working, when I thought of him, I was already washed, dried and in my business suit and halfway to meet a client. Infact at the UN congress, everyone stood up to worship him, I dont know why people dont worship him yet in Nigeria. Anyways I heard a prophet has no honor in his home village. I am sure that is why he's teaching Nigerians a lesson by blocking the Lagos Ibadan express way. You people will soon know.
All hail my flying GO, I dont know what the hullabaloo about the plane was, if he likes he can walk in the sky. He doesn't need plane. Its because he is humble he is using the plane.

But constituent(s) were they? Which one or ones will he be identified by? I hope he did not belong to anything else, with Islam. And unless there is a medical or legal reason for keeping a body, the longer the body remains the more the body suffers, without being washed already and shrouded, and what will a body be doing around anyway, if its a good soul the body and soul should be hurried to its place to remain so that it can see paradise.

If its an evil soul, the body should be taking off the neck of the community, and let it go meet its evil fate! I do not know why he will walk away from the sunnah of his Messenger (AS) for his constituents, which is greater, Allah and His Messenger (AS) or his constituents? The whole of the world is nothing and to thing the whole of nigeria is something is surprising.
Soul hurried to hell or paradise, body suffering after death, Jesus wept! Do people actually believe in this balderdash? I think there is big trouble!
Heard somewhere all souls have to go to hell anyways, why the rush?
Finally, the late man was not an authority on Islam by his wish, and a person who says a muslim can only marry just 1 wife, or more than 4 at the same time both did not pay 100% to Fard from the Quran or the Sunnah. I will not marry a woman expect as the Fard and Sunnah require.
Seriousl mister, I don't know where this is leading. can't head or tail out of it. Will assume you are just waking up!

All in all, may Allah forgives him. By the way, no one calls the lifeless thing AbdalGhaniyy Faweyinmi any longer, but a body! Its use on earth is zero and only the grave benefits it if its a body of believeing suoul. And can anyone tell us how long the body of any prophet in the Bible was kept before burial, if he is to be buried in the place he died and there is no reason to keep it, war, etc!
Frankly speaking, I don't care how long the body of anyone in the Torah was kept for. Most likely buried immediately for reasons of sanitation.

Islam › Re: Ruben Abati And His Unislamic Statement On Gani's Burial. by zmurda(m): 12:29pm On Sep 12, 2009
Bashbaba:
Salam alykun!

In present day journalism, Reuben Abati needs no introdution. He is tutored, seasoned, veteran and polished per excellence journalist. He is with Guardian Newspaper editorial board. Not being sentimental,he had written lots of beautiful pieces of crafty works that shape the society we lived in.But just yesterday, the man erred when he dabbled into an area of religion where his verse knowledge does not cover. While showering eulogies on late Gani Fawehinmi in yeseterday's Guardian Newspaper in a tribute tittled :  Gani :Radical to the end.The following words are culled from his write up:

''It has taken a Gani for us to realise that the Islamic practice of burying the dead immediately can be revised. All of a sudden, in respecting Gani's last wish that all the constituencies to which he belonged should be allowed to pay their last respects, many have become experts in reporting that the only reason Muslims in the desert regions are buried within 24 hours is because of heat and that in the rain forest region, this may not be necessary. Still, it doesn't matter. Gani has been praised fulsomely by the Muslim Jammat. He is a transcendental icon who deserves to be celebrated. ''

It is pertinent to let Reuben and the entire world know that Islamic practices had not and will not be revised for any man's wish and for any reason. It is a sealed and complete guardiance that Islam has brought and it has made provisions for our excesses! All these too,go with their purnishments. In this present day society, you could be allowed to bury your dead in the way you had wished but one thing is sure:If it does not follow the laid down principles in islam,it  is unislamic. One might be brave, knowledgeable, lovable yet ignorant in islamic affairs.

It is better we advice this popular journalist to eschew from publishing things he has no knowledge about or probably heard form friends in the beer beer parlour who though bear muslim names, but are not muslims that are practising their religion. To them, everything goes

Islam's position is known on burials. There is neither ambiguity nor controversies.Even as a Muslim President or a leader of the Muslims worldwide, his time for burial as stated in islam must not be exceded.

In as much as we will want to be identified with our  late brother,Gani,we need to inform muslims that his burial style is not of muslims and must not be emulated.May Allah forgive him of his mistakes, shortcomings, ignorance and allow him enterance to paradise.
I laughed when I saw this. Common this is the 21st century bro. I know your religion does not allow freedom of speech, however I think the Nigerian constitution makes an effort to. It would be quite easy for another religious bigot to whip up sentiments against Mr Abati and Guardian on this, which is what you are doing.
He is allowed to say whatever is on his mind. For one, I think the custom of rushing to bury a corpse is antediluvian. This system is used hide a myriad of crimes and murders. I think corpses should be subjected to autopsies to establish causes of death.
I don't know what you are talking about Muslim leaders being buried same days. I for one know some emirs who died outside the country and were brought back into Nigeria some days back for burial, so also were some muslim 'world' leaders (read emir of Ilorin, Sadat, Arafat and yes Fahd!).
Gani's wish was not to be buried at the same day. Surely, as a good muslim he saw something wrong with such practice that was clearly why him and his family went against this practice. Will he go to jahannam because of this? I seriously doubt it.

WackyJ1:
The reason why the emphasis is so on Nigeria is because of the fact that we don't balance our evil with good. Americans or other countries of the world benefit from each other despite a few fraudulent acts here and there once it a while. But what do they hav to gain from us nothing except the fact that they can cheat us or rip us off. I  may be wrong on this  but doesn't it seem that most of the Nigerians who go abroad go there just to do 419? Only a few go for good intentions  and when i mean good i mean to stay with friends and family, thats all. So they hav every reason to suspect every tom, privates and harry who bears any Nigerian-like name.

Even the sony advert, we just rushed to defend ourselves  that  what sony said was wrong. In my opinion,  if we had sue sony to court we wouldn't hav stood a chance if they had started to bring up evidence such as this one in the  defense.

I'm tired of hearing about Nigeria Nigeria Nigeria. Does it mean we are the only African Country that engages in fraudulent activity abroad? Must we be the GAINT OF AFRICA in everything?
I agree there are loads of Nigerians inclined to fraud. They travel outside Nigeria to commit fraud. So do many other countries. This is no justification, let me be quick to point out.
I do not agree however that all or most Nigerians that go abroad go there for fraud purposes. I think Nigerians are one of the most hard working peoples you'll ever come in contact with. I would not say I have been all around the world. I have seen Nigerians with degrees working as cleaners, conductor and wardens. They do it so they would not steal. They do it because they do not have an option. They do it because they want a better life for their families. I am usually very uncomfortable when I see them, knowing we have the resources that would have given them a better life in the country! I have also seen lots of Nigerians who have good careers. For your information, in the US, west Africans especially Nigerians are more educated than the average other American, even the model Asian American immigrant.
Its a hard sell, but the truth is the scale of crime committed by the Europeans in Africa can never be exceeded by us. The sad part is seeing ourselves committing these same crime against our peoples. That is the sad part. We have been exploited, now we are the agents who exploit ourselves.
I agree with Bidemi, all that needs to be done should be done well, where is the will power, where are people to do it?
I do not agree that pride means approval. I will be proud of my kids and ashamed if they misbehave. I'll try to correct them to do the right things. But that does not take away the instinctive pride you have when they are yours. The Nation is another matter for me. Its not the individuals behaviour that counts, its the collection of the culture, the people, the life, the soil, the things seen and unseen, the very air and yes, sometimes the rowdiness and the boisterousness of Nigerians. The Nation for me is this simple, its my nation, its my birth place. I can't change it. I can try to make it better, I can complain but its still my country

@Z-MURDA Webser defines being proud as ''feeling self-respect or pleasure in something by which you measure your self-worth; or being a reason for pride; Can you please explain to me what you are proud of right now in Nigeria? is it the social infrastucture or the government which has looted us blind? or the fact that more than half the populace is in poverty in a country that is richly endowed with natural resources. Where graduates wallow in unemployment when a job should be waiting for them. where election rigging is the norm and casting your vote is considered a waste of time. Or where insecurity reins supreme. You cannot walk the streets come 12.am. A friend went home last month and was gunned down on his was from the airport by armed robbers. My friend i think you are confusing pride for nostalgia for home. The best way to put the society and government on its toes is to constantly rebuke the flawed system. The late Gani was a classic example of this. The moment we start feeling pride we are rubber stamping the policies and running of our country.
My brother, I feel a nostalgia for home no doubt. I love the beautiful culture. I love the people I grew up with. I love my family and friends back home! Being Nostalgic is definitely not being proud to be Nigerian. Nonetheless I am proud to be Nigerian.
I am proud to be Nigerian not because there is poverty in the land, I am proud to be Nigerian because in spite of the poverty, I have through hard work, good home upbringing and good education excelled at what I do. There many of us who do that even with the f**ked up eductional system we had to pass through. Even if some are not at the top of their careers, they have come good.
I am disappointed of course in the state of our nation, the insecurity, the cesspool of poverty, the seemingly innate stupidity of our leaders, the dearth of credible leadership, non existent power supply, bad roads, lack of positive energies in the youth. In all, I am still proud to be identified as a Nigerian. I am sure its because you still like the country you are concerned enough.
The Gani you mentioned was a proud Nigerian, he stood up against the corrupt system, not because he hated Nigeria, but because he believed in a bigger cause. I feel your pain that your friend was shot in Nigeria. It could have happened here in Houston! I have had a business partner shot on his way from a night club. Sure, the guys were caught. But released on lack of evidence. I think sometime you are too quick to condemn our country.
If you ever get to talk to any notable Nigerian (I don't mean those f**king bastards that call themselves politicians) - I mean people like Soyinka, Ribadu etc etc, they'll tell you they do not like Nigeria's situation but they are proud to be Nigerian. I teach my kids to be proud of his country. I teach them there is hope. When we start losing pride in ourselves, then there is no hope again. This is the worst thing that can happen: cutting the thread of hope. When you severe hope, you are dead from that minute.
I'll reinforce this, I am proud to be Nigerian!
