People should keep their frigging religion private. Praying on the street is a fire and security hazard ![]() ![]() ![]() It insults one's senses. I get really mad seeing people take over public places for praying or partying. People who do these are inconsiderate human beings!!! |

Then remove Abraham Lincoln from the annals of American history. Muritala is the best Head of State we have had. He stood against all what was wrong in this country. Including secession. He hated corruption. He wanted democracy He stood against the hegemony of the west. He supported Angola in the fight for freedom and also South Africa. Little wonder he was killed by the CIA Discipline was paramount. He had his faults, like the sacking of top civil servants, many of who were corrupt anyway. Don't let's deface and degrade his legacy with stupid sectionist comments by the OP |

The Nigerian citizen doing the work of the Nigerian government. We already provide our own light, our own water, our security and roads. . . now we have to hunt down criminals by ourselves. Its the deepest shame imaginable. Our shallow minister who represents the youths was spewing mindless garbage in the media, reminiscent of his boss Gridlock Jonathan |

NA WHO GET BIG NYASH and CONNECTION GO GET JUICY NNPC JOB I wonder if NNPC, DPR, NPDC, NCC would be taken out of the list. There would be a killer demand for this juicy places. Guess who would get them? Not you on Nairaland. Some ministers gurl friend or cousin. Some stupid policy statement made by a retrogressive minister. From time immemorial there has been discrimination in work places based on talent and skills, connections, sometimes sheer luck and bravado. . . It is no secret that a lot of the NYSC guys/girls in ministries are jobless. Hardly contributing anything for the whole of one year. I think it's about time the whole thing is scrapped. Clueless ministers. |

Speaking with Pastor Jegede Johnson in this regard, he asserted: "I do not expect anything less from John because right from nursery school, he has been a quick learner. Whatever he learns, he never forget. We sleep in the same bed which gave me opportunity to wake him up early to read after which, he became used to it." Where does this man's wife sleep? On the floor? 1 Like |

From the BBC: A rogue trader was arrested today in one of the biggest losses from rogue traders. It would be interesting to know how he was able to get away with a loss as big as this. Is this a lack of proper internal control? Controls and oversights have been tightened since the Jerome Kerviel debacle of 2008. In a way, Kweku's rogue dealing is a culmination of the Ghanaian dominance in all fields of endeavour we as Nigerians hold dear. Their football teams are better than ours, their economy is better run, they have power, politics cleaner and more accountable (at least till the oil money starts rolling in) and of course our exclusive preserve: FRAUD. This latter I find very disgraceful. In all our years of fraud, the total amount does not even come close to 2 bn dollars ![]() ![]() |

Aregbesola is one of the worst governors in this dispensation. He doesnt give a crap about the people. What the heck is he doing in Saudi Arabia when there are problems in his home state? In western countries, their leaders would be hurrying back to their home base to quench the fire. Instead we get some stupid ass comments via facebook pronouncing death and pestilence against those who don't wish him well. |

who de believe police? dude was killed over money plain and simps. The Police Station should be investigated. I know there are no proper forensics in Naija, but let us see the picture of the dead man. where did the bullet enter and exit through? trajectory? fingerprints? If we had proper journalists, they will follow up on this. . . |

the problem here is i reject all of the religions: Satanism, African Trad Religion, Witchery/Wizadry. Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Stupidity, Crase. Simple reason is because they are all a tool for control. The truth is we are all humans, we die we die. There is no greater force controlling anyone. We make everything up. Imagine someone from 18th Century Ibadan coming to life today, he'll think aeroplanes are magic, cars are magic, modern photography is witch craft. Possessing advanced knowledge should not be the basis of religion |

Our journalists are a very lazy bunch. They did not even go into details of what the research is about. Someone probably got the news from a beer parlour across from where the event happened. Pity the future of journalism |

All these Operation Goat, Operation Go Slow, Operation Mumu will not work. See what happened after Odi when OBJ sent out soldiers, see what has happened to Boko Haram after their leaders were killed. In fact, I forsee a situation where similar trends would soon start being seen in the South of Nigeria. Frustrated jobless young people are all over the country. As long as the government does not solve the fundamental problem of social injustice, illiteracy, weaning people of religion and reducing corruption, these problems would multiply. Sooner or later, the government officials in Abuja would soon start getting killed. Their houses in their home towns would be unsafe for them. |

Okeyz, I think any one can be a roustabout. It doesn't require any skills. In the UK and Americas, its for the people who don't have any skills. It is not for the faint hearted. Personally, I would not advise anyone to stay too long as a roustabout. I would advise people to get a degree or training to move up. Ike, I am happy for you. At least you are willing to do hard work. Please don't make it your destination. Try to aspire to higher things. Make money as a roustabout, invest in trainings and education and move on. . . I have seen too many roustabouts stay on forever as roughnecks. This is good if that is what you want of course. . . This is from a former driller who has moved on. |
