Image123: Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. Mark 13:30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.Also see Luke 21:8 - 27 Luke 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.@Image123 - The first thing I will say to you is that you clearly are the one who suffers from poor comprehension. Did I mention disciples? Secondly, it is quite clear that like most who profess to be christians, you lack knowledge of the contents of your "holy" book. Do not take my word for it, read the above passages in your bible. You might be educated about the false (and failed) prophesies of Jesus. mabell:Examples, please. Tell us what is new under the sun. In other words, put up or shut up. |
mabell:Yeah, right. Except, that he has not come back yet, even though (according to the inerrant bible), he promised to return within the lifetime of some of his listeners. If his failure to return as promised is not failing, I wonder what is. |
How can nothing form something? Honestly i go with the creation a zillion times. Its even safer to conclude that we dont know who create the earth than the idea of just popping out from NOTHING. My new BMW just pop out from NO WHERE! NOTHING?!! This is delusion at its peak. Give me GOD any time, anyday. . .Apes & monkies are not my choice.
The classic "God of the gaps" argument. I cannot explain so goddidit. How very "intelligent". Unfortunately, when you reduce the arguments of the theists to their bare minimum, this seems to be what they are saying - God did it. |
Image123:I am afraid, but evidence from personal experience is not evidence. If I told you that unicorns exist from personal experience, would you accept that as evidence that unicorns exist? In any event, what is the use of a god who allows miracles only seldomly. You are right about one thing though, I do not believe in miracles because miracles never happen. |
frosbel:Why are you incapable of allowing the truth to come between your delusions and hate filled facist christian fanatism? Making it up for the sake of jeebus does not really help your cause. You really are a hate filled individual who appears to be beyond help. Why do you have such a problem with muslims that you are willing to make up lies to justify your ridiculous postion? The funny thing is that both groups are deluded. |
May I say that the question has not been properly formulated. It should read, "Why shouldn't christians fail?". They should not fail if it can be established that the ordinary laws of nature are generally suspended to accomodate their superstitious beliefs. They should not fail if it can be established that above all other groups they are specially selected by the big fairy in the sky for special things. Image123:Wrong - these are not seldom, these are never. These truth is, despite the special pleadings and so on, the only difference between the religious and the rest of us, is their belief in the existence of god, irrational though the belief is. Christians "fail" because people fail, christains fall ill because people fall ill, christian businesses fail because businesses fail, christain students fail examinations because students fail examinations. No more no less. No special favours, no miracles, no purpose. |
davidylan:Typical christian dishonesty. Over the years, one has become accustomed to their capacity to lie and make things up as they go along. For one who appears to get his morality from the insane justifications of William Craig Lane, the above comment is very rich. Put aside he fact that the the Israelites were never enslaved by the Egyptians, and gte Exodus account never ever happened, it is debatable whether you know the bible as well as you claim. What did I write that is not from the bible? Instead, you introduce another dimension: god supports in.cest. Abraham lied, Sarah was his wife. Twisting the plain facts is dishonest. |
davidylan:Abuse coming from one who believes that the earth was created in six days. One who is a creationist. One who believes the bible to the inerrant word of god. And you, sir, call me ignorant. You are the one who hides his ignorance behind a two thousand year collection of myths, fairy tales and failed prophecies by people who believed that illness was caused by demons. By people who believed that the sun revolved the earth. By people who believed that their god destroyed the earth in a flood. By people who believed that a man lived inside a fish for three days. By people who believed that their lord rose from the dead after three days in a tomb. You, who tries to explain the various inconsistencies in the book by really sophisticated babble. Whether you like it or not, evolution best explains man and other living things today. Deny this as much as you want. Your sincere beliefs (false and mistaken) are irrelevant to the truth. |
mazaje:As I understand it, this is not exactly correct. Man and ape (and indeed all animals) have a common ancestor. The theory is that man and ape split from their common ancestor millions of years ago. It is a popular ploy of the |
davidylan:This is an example of sophisticated christian theology. The point is they lied. The point is Abraham lied about Sarah being his wife, and god approved. In another post, I pointed out that frosbel fails to take the log out of his eye before trying to take one out of another person's eye. This post is another example of his delibrate attempts to cause trouble in the name of his god. |
Is it any surprise that you guys are called crazy? When faced with lunacy this extreme, what can one say? ![]() You guys are scary. |
frosbel:Need I say any more? Black is white and white is black. If this is not superstition, I do not know what is. |
There is something in the bible about removing the log from your eyes before trying to remove one from another person's eyes. The poster is effectively accusing catholics of being superstitious. It is a pity that frosbel does not apply the same standards by which he judges the catholics to himself. Here is a person who believes that the earth and contents were created by god in six days, that the same god destroyed the earth in a world-wide flood save for eight individuals and a few animals, that god's son was born of a virgin, that the said son was executed and rose from the dead three days later, that the said dead son of of god will return soon to judge all mankind and so on and so forth. If these beliefs are not as crazy as the catholic veneration of the dead, what is? Echoes of the pot calling the kettle black and so on. |
I wish I could say that this is just an opportunist, trying to make money fast. This is unfortunately part of an intolerant strain of christianity that has been trying to impose its will on the country. They keep on failing in courts and keep on trying. These rightwingers will not rest (they think) until they impose the laws of Leviticus on the rest of us. They pay lip-service to equal opportunities and are quick to see discrimination everywhere. The reality is that all they want is a theocratic state. The sad thing is that whilst most of the christian litigants are blacks or asians, the people who generally fund the litigations are white christians, who are no doubt happy for us to make fools of ourselves. She will fail. |
![]() You make me laugh. You expect them to give away something for free ![]() What do you think churches are? Charities? Get a life and get real. |
I guess it takes one conman to know others. It always amuses me when one pastor (or whatever they call themselves) accuses his fellow conmen of immorality and so on. You almost get the impression of the pot calling the kettle black. As for Nigerians being the most gullible in the world, he should know. Afterall, he is one of the parasites feeding on the gullibility of those who are foolish enough to listen to the inanities that sprout from his lips. |
Money talks. ![]() Reading between the lines, their main problem is that the GO has not given them a share of the profit he pockets. I wish them good luck. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. Conmen all. |
Joagbaje: ![]() This is a joke, isn't it?Advise what ![]() Counsel What ![]() |
Talkyaown:Have you visited hell, or do you know anyone who has? Mumu, asking me to be Serious. You better get a life. |
It is not possible for a policeman ot anybody else to make heaven, because heaven is a figment of man's imagination. Instead of threatening people with heaven or hell, we should be trying to improve conditions here on earth. |
2011 Prophesies: 'Two Govs will die mysteriously' , Surprises in 2011 elections * Warns FG of coastal attacks By Shedrack Ifurueze Date Published 20/12/2010 the characters in bold speaks for theselves Its a pity Papa u are not around to witness your prophecy come to past. Both Local and international obcervers said the election was reasonably free and fair. We saw many surprises as OBJ was defeated in his own constituency as well as the Speaker Dimeji Bankole being unable to return to the lower house. We saw how ACN tagged as a Yoruba part gave Dr Chris Ngige in an IGBo state the Senatorial ticket in Anambra state defeating Mrs re-branding of the ruling party Source http://newsdirectonline.com/newstory.php?ID=1013
It is a pity he did not foresee his own death. If he did, maybe one would believe all this man of god nonsense that Nigerians are so fond of. It is easy to sprout vague rubbish and claim them to be prophesies from god. |
Joagbaje: ![]() So christians can believe in evolution when it lets god off the hook ![]() Seeing that god is supposed to be the fount of all knowledge, I am surprised with this feeble defense of slavery. If god exists there should never have been slavery. |
This is child abuse. The parents and pastor who allowed this insanity to happen ought to be prosecuted. All you who think that your god encourages this kind of freak show should hang your heads in shame. |
noetic16:Excuses, excuses, excuses. If god treats his own like this, why should we care for him? Frankly, the post above is meaningless tosh, typical theology double talk. Prayer is a waste of time. If a parent behaves the way god does, we would all call that parent evil and uncaring. The only consolation is that god does not exist. The sad thing is that there are a lot of people who delude themselves that there is a god and are willing to deny women, homosexuals etc simple human rights in the name of god. |
Deep Sight:My fail. Problem is, many christians believe the 'God is love' and 'he did it for our own good' lines. |
mantraa:Classic example of cognitive dissonance. Yes means no and all that crap. An all powerful god does not need harsh laws to keep his creation from falling into the hands of the 'devil'. All he would need to do is will things to happen. If, on the other hand, god does not exist, the need to kill in his name becomes obvious. God is a human invention. |
In addition to being a charlatan and a fraud, I see that Ashimolowo lies as well. Someone points and at the TV and Ashimolowo upends the laws of nature to send money to her. Why is his god a god of money? Yet they accuse atheists of being materialistic. Man of god indeed ![]() |
kris2glo:This is arrant nonsence. A little bit of honesty is all that is required. It is quite clear that the Hindu gods are not the christian one. No one who prays to Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Ganesha and so on prays in faith to Jesus or in Jesus's name. Prayers to the Hindu gods are not the same as prayers to the christian god or muslim god or jewish god. To claim otherwise is dishonest. Nothing surprising there, seeing that lying on behalf of the faith is what the religious do best. |
noetic16:Really sophisticated theology at work. The art of making gibberish sound intelligent. ![]() |
I notice that none of the godbots has answered what is a really simple question huxley:And whilst you godists are struggling with that question, answer this one as well, "Why doesn't God heal amputees?" And this one as well "Why do christians die in car crashes, air crashes, of cancer and other illnesses?" |
Guys, it is now the 22nd of May, 2011. what happened?? did I miss anything?? All the christians I know are still here. Maybe they are not true christians. If they are, they should have been Raptured. ![]() I really did wish for it to happen - the earth would be a far better place without the sanctimonious born-agains. |
josephate:what a waste of time. No wonder We cannot make any progress as a nation. Nigerians have been praying for years, where has it got us? No where educaWe like to think that we are a religious country, yet our hospitals are in shambles, education is useless (most university graduates cannot string a sentence togethe and the only successful industires are the god-businesses. Two hands working are more productive than a thousand clasped in prayer. |
