You guys protest too much. Do I detect envy from those who criticise "dr." "Pastor" Thompson's good fortune?? Do you not believe in the words of the "Good" book ![]() Well, he does and see where it got him. The moral of the story is - you want a private jet, become a ![]() |
If you pricked the skin of a so called MOG, he bleeds like the rest of us. Despite their claims (or those of their followers), they have the same fears and emotions like the rest of us. They lie, cheat, sweat, love, hate and so on, just like the rest of us. In short, there is nothing special about them, apart from the delusion that they have a direct line to god. They are not immune to illnesses, accidents, death, bankruptcy etc, just like everybody else. Why then do they deserve anymore respect than the rest of us? |
Jah Man:There is always one who thinks that he is better than the rest of us. If you have nothing intelligent to contribute to the discussion, Shut the f@*k up. You may consider being thrall to the non-existent sky fairy as lucky. Why don't you keep your delusions to yourself and let the rest of us get on with our lives? Back to the subject at hand. It is disappointing that Gani Fawehinmi took the extreme step of dissolving what was considered to be one of the better chambers in the country. Surely, he could have groomed someone to take it over, or sold it as a going concern. the idea of clients having to find new lawyers is mind boggling. |
Azibalua:Keep digging that hole for yourself. All you had to do was admit that your statement about ulcers and fasting is not only wrong, but very dangerous. I know that a lot of people are unable or unwilling to let the truth come between them and their god. You appear to be one of those persons. Not only are you willing to lie for Jesus, you are also willing to let people seriously harm themselves or even die for Jesus. What qualifications does a pastor have to give medical advice? May I also say that my beliefs, or lack thereof, are irrelevant to the issue that you raised. If you are really are a 'medical scientist' (whatever that means), I am very sorry for those who consult you in a professional capacity. In the meantime, we are done. |
Image123:Please, educate me, as you are the font of all wisdom and the master of all knowledge. Teach me how to use the English language, as I am a poor ignorant fool. ![]() Happy now. |
@Asibalua, Continue to try to pull the wool over people's eyes. All I see is dishonesty in your position. As a 'medical scientist' you should really know better than to recommend something that can kill. Since when did pastors become doctors? As I said, lying for Jesus. |
Azibalua:This is your source!!!!! ![]() I am shocked and surprised that a "medical scientist" accepts this as a source for such an insane and dangerous proposition. This is woo upon woo - serious pseudo-science. |
Azibalua:I am curious about about the medical studies that have shown that fasting cures ulcers. What are your sources, or is this lying for Jesus? It would be better if you stopped making unsubstatiated statements. |
Joagbaje:Why must postings on this section be meant to edify?? You seem to want postings that pat christains on the back for believing in the Christ and claiming to be born-again or whatever the trend is these days. As this is the religious section, would you be pleased with postings that are meant to edify Islam, Hinduism, Bhuddism and so on? I think not. If you want want edification, please, go to your church, where you will meet like minded people. Just do not expect it in a forum like this. |
newmi:definition of parasite from dictionary.com –nounNow, please, tell me that pastors do not fall into all three. They are socially useless individuals who prey on the fears and uncertainties of the world. They are woo peddlers and snake oil salesmen. They promise everything and deliever nothing. They live off their congregations. Like I said - Parasites. Finally, you call me a young boy. Just goes to show the level of your intellect. Seeing that you have never met me, and know absolutely nothing about me, you are making assumptions without any proof. Oh well, you say there is god without proof. I am not sure that one can expect anymore from kooks like you. |
What predictions? ![]() A few inane comments with requests to pray for "long life(sic) for prominent Nigerians". If you are not rich and famous you do not matter. As poor people cannot contribute to the GO's survival fund, they are not deserving of prayers in 2011. ![]() I look forward to the big celebrations, although I am not sure that one needs a I notice that there are no specific prophesies for 2011. I wonder whether this is an acknowledgement that he talks utter rubbish most of the time. Anyway, these are my predictions for 2011. 1. A lot of people will die. 2. Even more people will not die. 3. Some people will make a lot of money. 4. Some people will lose a lot of money. 5. Most people will just about get by. 6. Pastors, men of god, imans, general overseers and people of that ilk will continue to talk utter rubbish, taking the credit when things go well, and blaming satan or shaitan when things do not go well. ![]() |
It does not matter whether you pray with your eyes open or closed. Either way, you are still wasting your time. |
The western world is where the money is. It seems that every third Nigerian in the UK these days is a pastor. Nigerians always follow the money. Besides the rich need salvation more than the poor (unless, of course, you are a pastor, man of god or whatever those parasites call themselves these days). ![]() |
I Eveoeve:So you are saying that these people are beyond criticism. No wonder the thieves who call themselves pastors get away with it. They play on the irrational and superstitious belief of their congregations, and rely on phrases like "touch not my anointed". chukwudi44:True. These rogues take advantage of the fact that people are too scared to question them and their interpretation of the bible. Why should an all powerful god need anything from human beings? Of course, if god is a human construct, the story is different. |
No doubt about it. They should never have been exempt in the first place. And what have they done with the privilege? Abused it. Their pastors and general overseers have enriched themselves at the expense of their congregations. And although they claim to be charitable organizations, the lady thing they are are charities. In.the meantime, they all enjoy the amenities of the state without paying for them. |
Once again the lunatics have been given the asylum keys and the false prophecies have started. Why do we have to go through this charade every new year? Prediction my arse It would not matter if all their so-prophecies come to pass. The problem is that these frauds manage to get away with their lies because they can always blame the non-existent god when their predictions fail. |
Joagbaje:Hold it right there, have you not just contradicted the bible. I thought that the bible forbids divorce. On the other hand, it may just depend on which sect you belong to. And what arrogance, deciding who is or is not a christian. And once again, 'submission to a pastor.' What is it with pastors wanting to know everything about their followers' lives? I presume they would also want to know how many times a couple make love every week, as well. |
This is why there is no sickness in Nigeria. Our hospitals are redundant edifices. There is no need for medical schools and doctors and nurses. In fact, this is the reason all our medical personnel try to relocate to godless countries. You see, in Nigeria all we do is quote Psalms 3 and 4 and we are cured of whatever ailments afflict us. ![]() Our ignorance as a people is beyond belief. We listen to snake oil salesmen (pun intended) and accept their nonsense without proof. Prayer does not cure anyone, and is frankly overrated. |
It is amazing how the biblical fundamentalists seek to jump on the scientific bandwagon when science seems to prove their myths. Although in this case it does not actually support the title of the post. If anything, what the find will do is put another nail in the coffin of the "inerrant bible". |
bstmaketa:Only if you are incapable of thinking for yourself. What exactly is god's plan? How do you know that what you want to do is god's plan, particularly as god probably does not exist? What do you do when various persons have contradictory plans from god? Just look at the different christian sects and creeds and you understand that people who talk of god's plan are just making excuses for themselves. |
@Enigma, And you believe the story because it was reported in the Daily Mail? Oh my!!! It appears to me that you will believe anything. As Christopher Hitchens once said "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." Where is evidence in any of the claims made by the poster? Nowhere to be seen, because none of the so-called miracles are true. If you are ill you stand a far better chance of survival by seeking medical treatment than by waiting for a miracle. |
Am I the only person who thinks that aletheia's postings are incomprehensible gibberish? Putting aside the rubbish about mythical creatures called nephilim, his arguments seem to be "the bible says so, it must be true." The problem with this approach is the bible has been proved to be wrong in so many respects, that this approach has been discredited many times over. It seems to me that people like him are so dismissive of science that does not support their stone-aged views, but are very eager to jump on the scientific bandwagon when it seems to support their superstitious views. This topic is serious woo. ![]() There are a couple of fairies at the end of my garden. They come out every night when the moon is full. I have never seen them but I have a book which tells me that they exist. If I insisted on this being true, I risk being committed to a psychiatric unit until I am cured of my fantasies. Yet literalists bible readers are allowed to get away with such nonsense. |
Who cares? The question you ignorant folk should be asking is- Is Obama a good president? It is a very sad world we live in where a man's achievements are judged by which version of the sky fairy he believes in. |
Joagbaje:The pastor as the fount of all knowledge. ![]() Not satisfied with lying and taking 10% of people's incomes, they now want to worm their way into their followers' bedrooms. I wonder what the biblical position on snoring is. In which part of the Old Testament is snoring punishable by stoning, or any of the idiotic punishments found in the bible? Not only is this thread moronic, the answer above must count as one of the silliest I have ever come across on Nairaland. |
aletheia:Like I said, the bible says it so it must be true. If only people like you consider all other religious myths in the same light. I have read the bible very carefully, far more times than is good for me. If any thing, the passage you place so much credence on just goes to show one of the many inconsistencies in the so called inerrant book. But I guess you have never noticed any inconsistencies. |
aletheia:Unless the Nephilim were among the creatures that Noah packed unto his I thought that the purpose of the flood was to destroy all living things save those god decided to save through Noah. I tell you, this biblical logic defeats me all the time. As for The Theory of Evolution being a myth despite all the evidence in support, I guess if God (unproven, unprovable and, most likely, non-existent) says it is a myth, it must be a myth. The little minds of the religious never fail to amaze. No doubt the pseudo science of the heroes of creationism, Ken Ham, Behe and the rest of them would soon be peer reviewed by real scientists, and not pastors and people who speak directly to god. |
Joagbaje:I am sure that there is a polite answer to what appears to be a stupid question; I just cannot think of one right now. Rather than be impolite, I prefer not to answer. |
Joagbaje:Excuses, excuses. ![]() It seems to me that they only cease to be Men of God when they are caught by the secular authorities. They are all crooks and thieves who live off their congregations. All clergy are parasites and socially useless individuals. In the meantime, enjoy the holidays one and all. |
wamby:What a joke? The so called christianity you claim to be part of came from where? Another product of the so called western culture. Of course, you can ignore western culture and embrace the Arabic Wahhabi one if you like. The constitution of Nigeria should be held to override all those tin pot religions which have unfortunately been given exalted status in the country today. Adegbite and those of his ilk are criminals and should be locked up. |
maddock:Who anointed her? What if she is someone's grandmother? When did Benson Idahosa become a very respected man of god? Why do we keep falling for all these frauds and conmen (and con-women)? |
I wonder how many parts Google Map sawed god into. Why are people so desperate to see god that they will manipulate pictures just to prove that the sky fairy exists? Na real wah ![]() |
