In short, there is nothing special about them, apart from the delusion that they have a direct line to god. They are not immune to illnesses, accidents, death, bankruptcy etc, just like everybody else.

A few inane comments with requests to pray for "long life(sic) for prominent Nigerians". If you are not rich and famous you do not matter. As poor people cannot contribute to the GO's survival fund, they are not deserving of prayers in 2011.

The problem with this approach is the bible has been proved to be wrong in so many respects, that this approach has been discredited many times over.

There are a couple of fairies at the end of my garden. They come out every night when the moon is full. I have never seen them but I have a book which tells me that they exist. That's one of the beauty of being submitted to a pastor. All these issues bordering on medical conditions, physical disabilities mental and otherwise are dealt with in the counselling session in churches,  they are obligated to lay their cards on the table and hold  nothing back. I have read the bible very carefully, far more times than is good for me. If any thing, the passage you place so much credence on just goes to show one of the many inconsistencies in the so called inerrant book. But I guess you have never noticed any inconsistencies.

As for The Theory of Evolution being a myth despite all the evidence in support, I guess if God (unproven, unprovable and, most likely, non-existent) says it is a myth, it must be a myth.
