And you believe everything you read over the internet? |
Who the f**k is Kim Clement and why should we care about his hallucinations? |
@ Master 1 - You do not need to worry. There is no god. |
I spend a lot of time wondering why Nigeria appears to be in the 2nd century, and then I read posts like this. People spend a lot of their time worrying about "spiritual Husbands". I cannot believe that we go in for crap like this. The only people who benefit from nonsense like this are the pastors and imams who peddle such woo. Time that should be spent on constructive things spent on "spiritual Husbands" ![]() Can I get a spiritual wife with lots of real money ![]() Only morons would believe crap like this. I weep for Nigeria - hard to believe that this is the 21st century. |
frosbel: What a racist brain dead topic.Seconded. This is a disgraceful racist post. |
This really is a silly post. Atheists do not believe that god (or any of his other supernatural bedfellows) exists. What would we have to pray about? A general acceptance of one's fate is far more realistic. Of course, even as an atheist I do not want to die. However, not wanting to die is not the same as wishful thinking. Seeing that theists find it difficult to understand simple concepts, I will have to shout this out - ATHEISM IS A LACK OF BELIEF IN GOD OR GODS. THE ABSENCE OF GODS MEANS AN ATHEIST DOES NOT HAVE TO PRAY TO ONE. Shit happens all the time. Accept it. There were pastors on the plane. God did not spare them, because god does not exist. |
It may also be that god is slow because he does not care, is unwilling or is unable. “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”Of course, it may well be because god does not exist. |
logicboy: Ode, failed analogy. For some people, ignorance is bliss. One cannot blame them, they are just incapable of logical and intellegent reasoning. ![]() |
elvisimeh: oboy, i'm nt a yoruba, i told you where i got the meaning.I did not ask you about abiku. I couldn't care less about abiku. Zodiac61: If you do not mind me asking, what exactly has god given you that a muslim, hindu, agnostic or atheist has not got? That was my question. |
No True Scotsman. ![]() |
elvisimeh: you all are flocking in like vultures coming in for the kill. I wanted to know the purpose of life for an atheist n agnostic- living to die(or coming back over and over again like an "Abiku"Wrong again ![]() I asked you a question. You have failed to answer. |
Nigerians have been praying for how long now? Has the country changed for the better? There are probably more churches and mosques in each Nigerian street than anywhere else in the world. Are we nicer to each other? Every third Nigerian I meet these days is a pastor, reverend, iman, bishop (you know the drill). Is the country less corrupt than it was 20 years ago or is is more corrupt? Every new year is the "Year of Plenty", or "The Year of Abundant Blessings" or "The Year of Special Deleiverance". Has the gap between the rich and the poor reduced? Churches and mosques are forever conducting healing services. Do we need fewer hospitals? Have prayers made us happier and content with what we have? Have they made us healthier, given us jobs, healed amputees, found a cure for cancer? I thought not. "Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer." |
Oh, what fun ![]() I do love a christian catfight. This reminds of of the "No true Scotsman" fallacy. hotwax: Despite muslims haVE diverse factions and sects, you will never notice them rubishing one another in the public.Really, so when they kill each other, like in Iraq, they only do so because thir politics differ. I would not have known that. Presumably, the Ahmadiyyas are not muslims, because they appear to be despised by the other sects. As for pastors sponsoring christians to try to bring down other churches, it is called business. The fewer churches there are, the more money to go round. I say, keep it up, brothers. ![]() |
elvisimeh: If I were "armed" with this information of yours I would be more spiritual. If raising children is one of the process of life, what then is the purpose?Just answer the question. ![]() |
elvisimeh: ok, if u really want answers- for one i wouldn't have purpose in a life just to raise children and die OR a life of reincarnation; coming and going like an "Abiku". That's for the atheist and agnostic( which I consider one of the lowest life form). Like I said earlier, I can't fault u for being a Moslem.Just for your information, I am "one of the lowest life form (sic)". Raising children and dying are not really purposes in life - these come naturally - you are born, you reproduce and you die, just like every other living thing. There really isn't anything like an abiku and the smart money is seriously against the idea of reincarnation. But I will repeat my question (just in case you have forgotten it) - what exactly has god given you that an atheist cannot get (reincarnation not included)? Before you say the second coming of the Christ, like me remind you that people have been waiting since the days of Paul. |
elvisimeh: who made u a judge to know what counts and what do not count? What u can't doubt is d power of Faith( I can't spite u 4 being a muslim or a Buddhist), I really don't know what agnostic and atheist believe in.Despite several requests by other posters to answer my question, you have evaded the issue. Typical believer attitude. ![]() |
stepo707: Ok oh i will tell him.Let me ask you this question.I am sure that you would like me to say god. Well, I will not. It is called conscience, something that you develop because you are part of a society, not something you get from the bible. Please, in future, could you ask some less moronic questions. ![]() |
stepo707: God still loves you.He can arrest you if he wants. So be careful.LOLGood luck to him (it, she, whatever). I will be waiting. Just ask him (it, she, whatever) to identify himself (itself, herself) , so that I will know who is arresting me. ![]() |
elvisimeh: if u must know, it's been very rewarding. If you do not mind me asking, what exactly has god given you that a muslim, hindu, agnostic or atheist has not got? N.B. - peace of mind does not count. |
Silly post, silly poster. Falling for the tricks of the teaparty. |
stepo707: Can God prevent all disasters, yes he can.But he allows them to happen for his own reasons. He alone knows all things.we dont have any right to question him.Job tried to understand what he did to deserve the same thing when he lost his 10 children and wealth.IMO lets leave all mysteries to God. ![]() Really! Why not just confess your ignorance? The problem with theists is that they come out with so much much nonsence that makes no sense. Imagine talking about Job as though he was a real man. I choose not to leave mysteries to God (a non exsistent creation of man's fetile imagination). If that had been done there would have been no cure for leprosy, no cars, no planes. People would still believe that the earth is 6,000 years old, that there was a flood that destroyed the entire earth and that Adam and Eve were the first humans to walk the earth. No - God (or any other imaginary sky fairy) did not cause the air crash. What cause the crash was human error, either in the maintainance of the air craft or by those flying it. These things happen all the time. |
When someone dies, that is it. That person is dead, that means, that person is no longer alive. The body decays. There is no afterlife, no heaven, no hell, there is absolutely nothing after death. |
Imohgenius: This is my first post on Nairaland I have been viewing as a guest for too long. I believe that I have a Godgiven mission to bring many of Nairaland's godless users to full obedience to the will of Christ fufilling the mandate of making disciples of all nations, even a cybernation. Surely the knowledge of the Glory of God shall cover Nairaland as the waters cover the sea. God bless you all!@Imohgenius - Why did he not prevent the crash? Poor deluded fool, hear this loud and clear - God had nothing to do with the crash or anything. He, if he exists, is rather ineffectual. As for Joshua - you can fool all the people some of the times etc. |
Another year, another dollar. Anything to increase the overseer's wealth and influence. As usual, moronic Nigerians will lap up this nonsense as evidence that the ![]() |
Science according to Jack Chick ![]() How very amusing ![]() These cartoons are supposed to be irrefutable proof that evolution is a lie? Ignorance writ large and disguising itself as piety ![]() |
pstbolanta:What "man" was he talking about here? Stop digging, the words are quite clear. No matter what spin you try to put on it, the writer of 1 Tim. was against women preaching etc. How else do you interprete "but to be in silence". |
Why do you need a pastor to be able to tell the president he acted foolishly?? What authority (other than the self-anointed authority assumed by all those parasites) does a pastor have over other citizens? In an ideal world, anyone should be able to tell the president that he acted foolishly, if indeed he did. It does not require self serving conmen (pastors and their ilk) who assume that they have some divine right to blow off any time someone does not conform to their prejudices. |
OLAADEGBU:I see that you are still continuing with your deluded claims. ![]() You do not have half the brains St. Augustine had, yet you call him a deluded monk. You are, of course, not limited to experimentation and observation. Why do that when you have god to do your thinking for you. What a poor, deluded, ignorant fool. |
Often a non-Christian knows something about the earth, the heavens, and the other parts of the world, about the motions and orbits of the stars and even their sizes and distances,, and this knowledge he holds with certainty from reason and experience. It is thus offensive and disgraceful for an unbeliever to hear a Christian talk nonsense about such things, claiming that what he is saying is based in Scripture. We should do all that we can to avoid such an embarrassing situation, which people see as ignorance in the Christian and laugh to scorn.@OLAADEGBU, Whilst you pride yourself in your tunnel-visioned ignorance, it might help if from time to time you considered the above from St. Augustine. If you post such an ignorant and, frankly, untrue screed like this, do not be surprised if you are taken out. It does not help your already hopeless cause if you have to lie to make the bible fit the scientific concensus. The authors of the bible knew absolutely nothing about science. They were superstitious persons who were trying to explain what appeared to be strange goings on. It is a shame that people like you close your minds to the reality of what is happening around you, and instead choose to rely on superstitious scribblings from 4000 to 2000 years ago. |
