It should be interesting to know whether it is his practice to greet Yoruba monarchs in this manner. Charity, they say begins at home and I add must be a rarity where it does not!

Gun control laws ought to be reviewed in Nigeria to allow private citizens bear arms for self defence. About time Nigerians threatened or prone to being threatened by Fulani terrorist herdsmen articulate and put in place measures to defend themselves in the face of the refusal by President Buhari and the Inspector General of Police to keep to their oath of office to protect Nigerians. The Law allows for one to defend himself and self defence with an AK47 should be commensurate response in the ongoing war where that is the standard weapon used by the Fulani terrorist herdsmen. Lawyers will be in place to defend folks. Enough is enough! I may be quoted please.

We are not taken by your fallacious and Intellectually dishonest response. No one expected him to be omniscient. He does not need to be omniscient to know whether the IGP carried out his Presidential directives if he indeed is hands on as The President! He should go back home before he gets more damaged by the half-truths his foot soldiers daily belch out in defence of the mounting indefensibles of his Presidency.

The evil you tolerate will terrorise you! Deal with it!! Just yesterday Ortom sat with Buhari like he was his best of friends instead of putting up a body language in display of protest against Buhari’s handling of the killings. Does he think he can get protection from Buhari that way? A deceptionist is best confronted openly.

Too much bleaching cream has damaged her nerves. Yoruba people love bleaching like their existence depends on it.
Indeed true! Seen her at very close quarters at a social function where eating was on and I almost vomited at the messy sight of her bleached skin. She was in the company of another Yoruba actress (Adegbola - nee Babatope)whose bleached skin was also a messy sight to behold!! Many do not know bleaching can cause stroke besides the mess it makes of their skin in the aftermath. I once rhetorically posed a question to my wife as to how men who sleep with them bring themselves to be involved with such beings in multicolored, messed up, and bleaching induced wrinkled up skins!!!

When a supposedly Distinguished Senator of The Federal Republic of Nigeria behaves in this manner it discloses the fact that he is ignorant of who he is or meant to be. It is obvious here that when the purpose of a thing is not appreciated its abuse is inevitable!
Politics › Re: National Assembly’s Quest To Re-order The Sequence Of Elections, Right Or Wrong? by zoedew: 9:49pm On Feb 19, 2018
Wrong foot forward.
In the instance of the subject under discussion and by a community reading of Section 76(1), Section 132(1) and Section 178(1) of The CFRN 1999 The INEC would appear to be saddled with the responsibility of fixing dates for the conduct of elections into the offices therein specified. The CFRN 1999 is a Principal legislation put side by side with the Electoral Act 2015 which is subsidiary to it by virtue of the fact that it is provided for by the CFRN 1999.
It would therefore appear to be a sunken position to hold as valid the purported amendment to the Electoral Act 2015 that inserts a new Section 25(1) which states-
“Elections into the office of the President and Vice-President, the Governor and Deputy Governor of a state and to the membership of the Senate, the House of Representatives and Houses of Assembly of each state of the federation shall be in the following order: National Assembly elections; state Houses of Assembly and governorship elections; and presidential election. The dates for these elections shall be as appointed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.” This is notwithstanding the clever attempt by the NASS at subverting the above stated Constitutional provisions by seeking to create a non-existent distinction between “sequence” or “order” of elections and “dates” of elections. It is akin to the difference between six and half a dozen! It is non-existent!! It is trite law that you cannot read into a piece of legislation what is not stated there no matter how strong your magnifying glasses are!!! To my mind the purported amendment by NASS are unlawful, null, void and liable to be struck out by our courts where challenged by an action in court.

The official language of Quebec is French. It is the SOLE official language. You cannot insist on speaking English to conduct business in an enclave where the official language is not English.

English is the official language in Nigeria. In every single nook and cranny of Nigeria. Yet this law seemingly seeks to make it legit to conduct business and teach in yoruba, even to the exclusion of other non-Yoruba speakers.
I’ll explain just one more time. In Canada as a country unlike in Nigeria as a country where English is SOLELY the National Language The Lingua Franca is the English/French Languages which is why Canadian National Inscriptions are rendered in both languages. Now, the fact that the lingua Franca in Canada is as stated would not be reason to insist that English be spoken in Quebec! That is true Federalism! A visit to some places in America will not be liveable for a person who can’t do espanol! The fact that English Language is lingua Franca in Nigeria is no reason why a Federating State cannot demand that folks who wish to be educated or domiciled there must learn the language indigenous to that federating unit. This is more so that communication In English is not barred.

Yoruba can only enact such a law wen they form a country. As long as they are still within Nigeria, this law is very dead long before it will arrive. During the next admissions, No one will even talk about this and besides we all know Lagos is not yoruba land.
Your response discloses part of the problems the Nigerian State is faced with. The sooner we run a proper Federation the better. We lay claim to a Federal arrangement and run a Unitary system in reality which is why somebody called IGP sits faraway at Abuja pretending to be policing the large mass that Nigeria is and the Fulanis insist on their nomadic lifestyle which is alien to the other Federating units of Nigeria. To say Lagos is not Yoruba is to say Owerri is not Igbo and Kano is not Hausa simply because they have become cosmopolitan.

French is the official language of the enclave of Quebec. the vast majority of residents in Quebec are french speaking.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Official_Language_Act_(Quebec)

your analogy is not apt, as English remains the official language in ALL territories in Nigeria.
You miss my point. It is sought to draw your attention to the fact that while English Language is as National in Canada as French it would not be it to insist on conducting your affairs in English Language in Quebec. I hope you got my drift.

What a backward and retrogressive law.
If you want to 'preserve the Yoruba language', why not restrict this only to Yoruba people? Why is this not optional?

This is hostile to others, and disregards the fact that we have a national language in English to eliminate issues such as this. Essentially, this law makes it legal to go to a meeting in the Civil service and have the entire meeting conducted in yoruba language, to the exclusion of any present non-yoruba speaker.

Heck, you can even no use this law to hold lectures in LASU in 100% Yoruba.

Imagine if every tribe copies this and you then need to have a credit in Igbo language to even apply to Imsu angry

Disgraceful that there are some people here supporting this shite.
....”if so desired by the concerned”
You go to Quebec and insist on conducting business in English Language just because not all of Canada speak French and we’ll see how far that takes you! The right to self-determination includes the right to preserve your cultural and linguistic identity. Lagos having become a State where all are welcome to aspire it is imperative to ensure that the Yoruba culture and language are well preserved. That is only fair!

Tetiary institutions in Lagos

This is vague. Does the law mean all tetiary institutions in Lagos which includes Yabatech and UNILAG and other private institutions or Lagos state owned ones only?

Can this law be held in federal secondary schools like Kings and Queens college?
