Wallie: The woman is not elected to any public office and as such, her illness or lack thereof is nobody’s business except her husband’s and loved ones. u are wrong. The day they start using Nigerian jets for private purposes, using Nigerian funds for medical expenses was the day that whole family becomes public property. abi u wan swear say na Jonathan pay for the Jet that ferried her to Germany. |

My point on this issue is that once you decide to run for any office in 9ja. Do not steal taxpayer's money or loot the tresury. If you do so there is a reward if you do the above. Mama jona's record in bayelsa is terrible not 4 obj annointing or s-election her husband 4 vp in 2007, efcc would have dragged her to court. Do you now think all those bayelsa stollen money will not grow into poison en-route parkinson. The God of nigerian masses never sleep and this to me seems like law of karma. Finally, Is there any office in 9ja constitution called first lady's office? This office now attract spokesman etc. And why must our money be allocated for such nonsense. Weeks ago yaradua and jona wife were at eachother over a piece of land in a choice area of abuja. Solution to her sickness is not foreign but local. Let her return all she has taken from bayelsa to abuja illegally and it's going to be like being healed by Jesus (the woman of issue of blood). QED. |

ndu_chucks: Parkinson's disease is not common in Nigeria or any African country for that matter, besides, the disease does not just set in and completely disable the affected person to the point of requiring weeks or months of hospitalization. clown, was cancer common in Nigeria? If one in a hundred suffers from parkinson, does that mean that 1 cant be Dame? just pray for her... |

Pukkah: Mister, you are unfortunately right. I couldn't agree more. That is why the legality of the office of the first lady should be addressed in order to question situations that may arise like this in a constructive manner. Hopefully the proposed constitution would/should address this issue. |

Nothing is going to kill our 1st Lady, It's unfortunate the media has already killed her.. Everytime "according to close/trusted sources", from Food Poisoning, to Ruptured Appendictis, to Tummy Tucking abi na Surgery, now its Parkinson. This clearly shows the media is completely clueless, their so called "Trusted/Reliable Source is clueless" hence they feel its right to be feeding us with rumour, since we too foolish for their eye. 2 Likes |

Demdem: The bottom line is she is seriously sick and the Retardeen LIED to us. This is why I continue to humour them that she is 'hale and hearty'. Afterall, that is what the President has made us believe. And this is the crux of the matter! This guy blows every opportunity to show true and courageous leadership especially in difficult times. He blew it during the last presidential interview on assets declaration and he's blowing it now that his wife is sick. Pray, what is the big deal in anyone being sick? Whether or not Patience is a private citizen, it is a piece of information in which Nigerians are interested. It is also a development that can affect the performance of the President. Why make it a secret affair? Why is he not learning from the lessons of the last dispensation? Why lie that she went to 'rest'? Why sneak to Germany to pay your own wife a visit? Why let the issue fester to the extent of it becoming a distraction? President Jonathan should take advantage of this difficult period in his life and address the nation or get one of his numerous aides or assistants to release the true official position and put paid to baseless rumours and dangerous speculations. If he comes clean and admits the state of health of the woman, what he would get from mature people is sympathy or, at worst, indifference. He would also get loads of pity, deserved or not, from Nigerians who are largely emotional and religious. The way President Jonathan handles 'disclosure' issues diminishes him as a true and courageous leader. It shows that he's still struggling with 'transparency' and 'good corporate governance'. 4 Likes |

I tink u r rather d idiot since u can't get d part abt a persons privacy n personal family issues, if he chooses not to tell nigerians abt her conditipn, its his choice, afterall its his wife n not urs. Besides if he tells u, wat do u intend to do about it, hediot!!! |

Stella_Bella: See as you take style-style dey yab me? At least, you're not brash about it! Do public servants, except the President, owe any duty of disclosure to the public about their medical history? If so, where can I find the health records of other Permanent Secretaries? She flies in the Presidential jet because of her "relationship" with the President. Do you know the medical history of the presidential advisers or Senators? Why is she any different? 1 Like |
