slimghost: When those information about the war get to the declassification point....they will be declassified. Writing a memoir by someone of Gowon status at the moment may lead to unintentional declassification of official records of government...remember that Achebe wrote his own not in an official capacity as a officer in the army but a civilian. Wait till those records are declassified... 1 Like |

Dede1: Gowon was an usurper when the Northern coup was successful and wanted him as Head of State? So you were expecting them to install Ojukwu or Effiong as Head of State? Besides, was Ojukwu the most senior eastern military officer in Biafra? When Orizu handed over to Aguiyi Ironsi, Aguiyi Ironsi was not as usurper? He is ibo so he is not an usurper.mtcheeeeeeeeeew . 5 Likes |

debetmx: One wonders where you picked the word-virtue in connection with Head of FMG when Gowon was not regarded as such in eastern region of Nigeria. You still seem to be worse than a learner. Again Niger Delta only exists in the figment of imaginations that belong to jackasses. |

modicum: Many people have urged Gen. Gowon to write his memoir.Mounting such pressure on him is an exercise in futility because there are five key issues, which he will never be able to explain convincingly to all Nigerians. So he prefers to avoid talking about them. The first is the Aburi Accord. How on earth can Gowon justify dumping an agreement he signed freely in a foreign country, surrounded by a crowd of advisers and technocrats? |

Dede1:Where did i state that successful coups lead to civil war? When Danjuma arrested Aguiyi Ironsi he should rot in hell; when Ifeajuna, who was running into exile killed Tafawa Balewa, he is a hero. The people from the rising sun (am sure the sun ran into exile too), i hail thee. Gullible people, your kinsmen were dying while Ojuiku was busy enjoying himself in biafra, cavorting with hausa women while people were dying in droves. Which of Ojuiku's children ever went hungry during the civil war? 7 Likes |

Chris†Kid: Quite the contrary, we are exposing the gullibility of some people who were led to a war they could never win and who allowed themselves to be led by people who specialise in running to exile (Emmanuel Ifeajuna and Emeka Ojuiku) after pulling the first trigger and blame peace loving people for their actions and inactions. 5 Likes |
