ezme: What i know for sure is this, people have showed different levels of faith in different talisman and have participated in dangerous gun duels even back then in the University and my experience of the warri crisis. What I know for sure is this people who possess these talisman have also fallen to bullet wounds so where therefore is the potency?

See, cultism was rife in my University and so I have heard more than my fair share of tales of native bullet proof. The fact is, these are amateurs. They are wannabe gangsters. They have no training on firearms. They hold the gat sideways like they see in the movies. No proper posture, no offset, nothing. Then they shoot and miss (even from close range) and they attribute it to jazz.

Bollocks!

I will repeat. Its easy to miss something close to you if you havent had training/practice. And in the Univeristy situation, your target is usually running for his dear life.
That one is an amateur doesnt mean that the first shot will always miss, it just means that the odds are against him hitting his target.

There is only one way to prove this whole native bullet proof thing.

Fela almost died trying to prove it. It was Beko (I think) that convinced him to put the charm around a goat otherwise, Fela was ready to chest a bullet.

Guess what?

The goat died.

Here, we have a "freethinker" who strongly believes that Criss Angel has supernatural powers. Even when shown videos explaining the tricks, he insists - in the face of contrary evidence - that some of the more incredible stuff are actually supernatural. Is there any wonder then why this same "freethinker" is convinced that bullet-proof jazz is real, and that whoever dismisses it as the nonsense that it is, is "dogmatic"?

By the way, here's a direct quote from Criss Angel himself:

"No one has the ability, that I'm aware of, to do anything supernatural, psychic, talk to the dead. And that was what I said I was going to do with Phenomenon. If somebody goes on that show and claims to have supernatural psychic ability, I'm going to bust them live and on television. That's what Houdini did for more than half of his life, because those people prey on the vulnerable."

Source: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0710/30/lkl.01.html

Again, we have another clown who believes that "african bullet-proof" is real, but is unwilling to volunteer himself to demonstrate its efficacy because it supposedly contradicts his faith. Yet, the same clown has no problem being a third party in the demonstration exercise anyway.

You've got to wonder why no human being on earth has been able to claim the James Randi prize money in its 40 years of existence (along with others like it), considering the plethora of claims about this so-called supernatural, particularly on the African continent (which, surprise surprise, also happens to be the most backward continent in the universe). I guess the reason for this is self-evident.

bolaino: well I have watched the youtube videos where he explains how he does his levitation.......

and If I might ask if you're criss angel, and u can really levitate and you're using it to make money, would u expose your secret to the world? What I think is the explanation being given by criss angel is to try to make what he does look logical so that people like us freethinkers won't start asking questions that he would'nt want to answer, that's my two cents,

bolaino: yeah talking about magic, there's an american magician by the name of criss angel, he walks on water and he levitates, and believe u me, it's no trick, u need to watch it for urself and believe, so what do u have to say about something like that?
bros, Chris Angel uses tricks, watch - breaking the magicians code on Etv africa. They bust many of the magician tricks there, including walking on water trick.

Criss Angel makes money from stage shows, TV shows, DVDs, etc. Magicians/illusionists generally make money by entertaining the public. Revealing his tricks would not necessarily undermine the source of his wealth. On the contrary, revealing his tricks most probably endears him even further to the public. It is a strategy that the likes of Houdini and Randi employed successfully, as the public tend to appreciate even more the ingenuity of magic performed when the methods are revealed. Of course, the illusion/magic has to be very original and breathtaking for such cleverness to be fully appreciated. That's what makes the likes of Criss Angel stand out, as he doesn't merely recycle old tricks, but invents new ones as well. That way, even when the public "know" that his new illusion is a trick, they're still curious about HOW he did it. Basically, he makes money by wowing people. And that's why these guys put in enormous efforts perfecting their craft, and the methods are only usually revealed after they must have made a substantial amount of money from that trick. You should see the movie, The Prestige.

Also, you should note that there are some underlying ethical issues governing the practice of magic/illusions. Honest magicians/illusionists are generally careful not to pass off their illusions as something that it is not. See the last line in that Criss Angel quote. The actual magic is being able to skillfully deceive people using absolutely natural methods. It is meant to be a testament to the performer's uncanny ability to do the "impossible". This consideration of ethics is why Criss Angel had a show called Phenomenon, Penn and Teller have a show called Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, and James Randi has a One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge - all of these to bust charlatans that claim to have supernatural powers. Interestingly, these fellows, with the exception of Criss Angel, also happen to be atheists.
Re: What Are Your Views On Supernatural Occurrences? by Kay17: 1:19pm On Apr 29, 2013
The OP omitted to tell us what he meant by supernatural occurrences. Criss Angel's walk on water was a magic trick/natural for example.

Don't you just love it when religuous people have to believe in down-right foolishness just to justify their 'spirituality'.

I would imagine that this 'mysticism' had more authencity before the white men came uninvited to our lands.

bolaino: After all is said and done my belief in the supernatural is still strong.

Sure, it doesn't matter what evidence you have been given, the need to believe is there so you must satisfy it because you have built your views round it and you are truly convicted. . .Here is one of my post on another thread where we had a similar discussion. I actually wasted my time and money on this juju nonsense with a friend here that believes in it but after it failed he still refused to believe that juju does not work. Here it is. . . .

I have this friend here that completely believes in juju. . .The guy seriously dislikes me for my unbelief, you know how it is when you were a believer and someone tells you things like god does not exist or that satan and juju do not exist, you know the kind of feeling you will get, the kind of feeling of great surprise and disgust, the kind of feeling that goes like this " why should some one talk like this" or "what is this fool saying about god not existing or Satan is not real and juju is a myth"? I bet you all know the kind of feeling, cos we were once all there before . . .It will sound completely stupidddd and senseless to you when some one tells you he does not believe in god or some of the many things you strongly believe in. things you have been condition and indoctrinated to believe are real. . .I didn't tell the guy that I do not believe in god, just told him that I do not believe in juju, because he is so ignorantly blind and TOO superstitious. We had a deal, he told me that I have not meet the right juju that is why i am blabbing and he vowed to go to Nigeria and get a very good juju for me that will work, he was SO CONFIDENT. He told me the usual stories about how he saw people doing this and that and how he used juju as a cultist in the university to do so many things in Nigeria. He told me that he has used juju himself and told me how his father and his grand father were great juju men, told me how he gave his friends and relatives juju to use, according to him some even took the juju to Europe and US, he said they did so many things with the juju, got riches. got women, got favors bla bla bla . . . .Told me that yahoo boys come to him and he takes them to the baba who gives them the "do as I say juju" so that what ever they tell their mugu the mugu will obey without complains bla bla bla. . .

We had a deal, I bought a return ticket for him. The deal was for him to go and bring the otomopkoh(juju) as he calls it(He is yoruba). We will go to one of the casinos and use it because he claimed his relatives in italy have used it to make big money through gambling there(he has always wanted to go to naija get the juju and raid all the casinos ), he also claimed he will come with the "do as I say juju" as well, he will tell people to give him money and they will obey without question, he was so CONFIDENT. He vowed to enter a bank, meet the cashier or manager and tell them to give him money, he vowed that who ever he meets in the bank will give him money without questioning him once he uses the do as I say juju. . .He swore heaven and earth that his juju is 100%, he claimed it belongs to their village bla bla bla and cost only 50 thousand naira. . .It was so serious that I just had to engage him out of anger and give him the money. . .He went to Nigeria came back with the juju and showed me. We went to the casino in Aalborg. As usual it failed. . .He placed 20 euros and lost, placed another 20 and lost. He tired 5 times in total and lost 100 euros. . .He was genuinely shocked. The next day we went and tried again, he won 180 euros initially but still lost all the money after a few tries. . .

He tried the do as I say on one woman and received the embarrassment of his life. . .But he STILL believes in juju. . .He still does NOT want to believe that juju does NOT work. . .I am VERY serious. . .He still believes that juju is real. . .After wasting my money. . .The stupidddd fooooool still holds unto his mythical juju belief. . .I am still fixated on this juju nonsense. . .Belief is actually stronger than I thought it was. . .You can HARDLY make some one change his/her beliefs. . .This guy saw his juju fail him despite his TOTAL confidence and belief in juju but still find ways to either blame himself or the juju man that gave him the juju, forgetting that he swore heaven and earth to me of how the man's juju has been tried and tested by him before which actually is not true. . .He just heard stories but was telling me that he saw it, he took people there and it worked for them, he said it worked for him too bla bla bla. . .Belief is a very strong thing. . .I am way past all these endless stories, if you make a claim just prove it else shut up. . .

What's really interesting is if this 'egbesu' works, it would go a long way in confirming that 'african powers' not the Jesu Christi exist... But a power that supposedly protects one from 'bullets and death' is termed 'evil/demonic' because it's african?
