Let me start by saying "YERIMA IS A PERVERT." Its unfortunate that we have such a man and his likes as a senator. This doesn't require a religious solution but academic, social and political solution. Put back ur amours of religious fight because no matter the religious support for such act, I believe the pple with living conscience will never agree with it. We shldnt and cannot keep quiet. With all due respects to all those saying that some states in america support teenage marriage, read the laws and again and read the intended amended nigerian law on teenage pregnancy. Before u get a court order dat will permit such, it will be next to impossible. Google to know how many 60 year old americans dat married a 12 year old or 13 year old. This goes a long way to show dat our senators are complete perverts and sick heads- both those who voted for and those who watched while evil was being legalized. We shld weep for our nation and ourselves if we watch these satanists mortgage the future of our young ones. They will not forgive us- if we do nothing! Say NO to under- age marriage! Say NO to YERIMA SLAPPER! 1 Like |

stillwater: Mr Yerima at 12 I lived in a town where me and my peers were in school creating a future for ourselves. One or two may have fallen off by the way side because of demented men like yourself who do not have the moral calibre and fibre of letting the girl child have peace of mind, but instead you and your ilk pester, harass and finally molest the girl child and steal and kill her childhood. That is not a reason to say the girl child is sexually active in your town. 1 quadrillion likes!!!!God bless you bro!!you have spoken well !!!! |

coogar: Is it today humans started using religious books to justify evil? Is it not the same Koran that is used to justify book haram, physically maiming people for petty crimes? Yet there are many Muslims that don't agree with these. So there is no reason why a rational human being would subscribe to such a practice in this day and age. |

Can u imagine. Can't u find a better solution to their problem. Must u marry them. Get them job. rehabilitate them. Empower them, not marry, rape them. In another way, if they prostitue themselves, at least its their choice, they re Not forced to it, they did it willingly. Its their right, all u need do is guide them and to make better choice and not ruin their lives. Marriage won't solve anything, at least not ur perverted thing, aint there plenty married women committing adultery. Think again. And again, even if someone tells u, u can do something, must u do it. Don't u av ur head to think, guess u lacked that. Cone to think of it, if ur prophet tells u to cut ur Dick, will u?? I guess not. |

baby_123: If you were man enough and complete mentally and physically, you will not need to marry a child all in the name of religion who would have never married you if she was given the choice. I am so ashamed of this country that this is a priority. Passing a bill for child brides. When there are other pertinent bills. At least we are now able to identify the craddle-robbers in government. You want to take away the choice of the Nigerian girl child in 2013. How about passing a law that you cannot enter the NASS without a bachelors degree, so we have less of these illiterate, fanatic monsters in power. This country is totally regressing. What is so manly about marrying a child forcefully? What is right about it? Which child will prefer to marry a 50yr old dying man against a boy/man of her peers? If she is below 18, leave her alone! Perverts! Dirty animals!excuse me why calling them animals? Animals ve respect to their younger ones so they are better than these fools please. 3 Likes |

Education, proper orientation, skill acquisition and employment will solve all the probems u listed Mr Yerima. And u never did any of those as a governor ,rather u are compounding the problem by ur abnormal lust. Are women above 18 finished in the Egypt. Are they finished in the world. We are all men,and we know that sexual appetite for extremely old people of 80 ,90 etc or kids is a mental issue.Any man that has such tendencies is a psychiatric patient good for Yaba Left.I reject all phylosophy that teaches u abomination. That phylosophy is satanic, just like pornography, rape, homosexuality is satanic. Yerima repent and caution ur wee wee toy. Jehovah is the almighty. |

Bleep.u.sexkills: DUDE, underage marriage don't mean shit in Oklahoma since the legal age of consent here is 16. So matter who marries whomever, the earliest that can be consummated is 16, IN THE WORSE STATES, the country is by and large using 18 as a general age of consent. @OP, this Yerima is the worse kind of human and I pray to God he dies. I am not joking, I will go down on my knees and commit him into prayer for him to die. If I also get the chance to bring his end on myself...it would be a hard decision, but I would do it. 1 Like |

Yerima I'm appalled at your reply. If you had done your job as a Governor or senator then the girls looking for 500 naira will most likely not be doing so. Are you the only Muslim in the world? Are you not ashamed that all the things you have listed, you have the opportunity to do something about them and rather than do it you are fighting for some evil course? Why don't you marry your 6 old child? You don't even know when to keep quiet. So the fact that people do all the things you are talking about does it make it right? So what you are claiming is that underage marriage is a solution to economic hardship? Arrant Nonsense |
Re: Senator Ahmed Yerima Replies His Critics by dozymars(m): 9:10pm On Jul 20, 2013 |
Even the Devil will give u reasons why u should worship him. So yerima dont come up with such nonsense and senseless reasons to justify your devilish act. A girl should be matured enough to know who she wants to get married to. why should you force her to marry someone when she is not even concious of herself and the world she lives in. Work towards the improvement of the economy of the nation and there will be less immorality in the society. How many females in your constituency have you sponsored to acquire life skills and hand skills to help improve their lives. So this how majority of our northern leaders think, no wonder Nigeria is in this state. 2 Likes |

Religion, sometimes, cannot be taken word for word because the world the prophets lived in was definitely different from ours. I'm sure there are so many things in the old testament that would land me in jail but I choose to use my common sense. Even yorubas used to give out/marry underage girls but as we got enlightened, things changed. Can't say the same for our northern counterparts though. Yerima has raised some good points but he left out the part where he had zero achievement as a governor and now as a senator, he's crossed over zero to the negative side. Maybe if he and his foolish cohorts do their damn jobs, our sisters won't be going to europe to sell their bodies. But then, how will they get them to attend their wild parties if they did. F**cking paedophile, still waiting for u to give ur underage daughters out coward. |
Re: Senator Ahmed Yerima Replies His Critics by florence38: 9:21pm On Jul 20, 2013 |
I quote; Yerima said marriage is not abt sex but abt helping each other family fine n understood he went on to say dat a girl can be given out in marriage as early as 6yrs, but marriage consumation starts when d girl is physically matured, if I may ask him when is dis desired age? If is he telling us he hasn't disflowered dis little girl since he is so concerned abt enacting law to defend his act well I guess dis child in- to- in tastes better hmmm, cos I sensed dat already dnt need a soothsayer to tell me. This is a pure right violation greed from d poor driven family to give an underage child probably to build her family like he said " help" which ever way we see it I still compare my 15 yrs old daughter to dis poor n innocent child who hardly is able to handle her puberty age. But wait ooh dis is total madness for an old man of gorilla calibre to mount a baby comparing d age difference of 50-14 or thereabt I imagine their going out on a date, or probably n introduction as his wife LORD HAVE MERCY, guess he wnt to cover his shame wt religion es 2 Likes |

sincerenigerian: You must have been looking for a chance to bash Islam. If you were educated enough, you would have known that Mormon Christians, Jews, Hindus, Bhudists also marry under age girls. If not for civilization, our founders in Nigeria and Africa in general also engaged in marrying of young girls up till about 40 years ago. we are talking about Rationality here.Is early marriage the only solution to those vices outlined by Yerima?have u ever thought of the high rate of maternal mortality,V.V.F,pregnancy related complications etc in Northern Nigeria?what is the future of a child Bride?is it wrong to wait at least 18yrs before marriage?is wrong for Northern Nigeria to produce Female professors, medical practitioners, lawyers and enginners?stop stealing the innocence and future of your daughters in the name of religion and tradition! 1 Like |

How can any sane person actually think that the only way to solve the problems he listed above is by marrying these girls at such young age and subjecting them to such horrible risks in future. What happened to providing proper education for these girls? What happened to improving the economy and creating jobs for their parents so that these young children can be cared for the way they deserve? I believe if any parent had the means to take care of their child(ren), they'll never give them up to live a life full of violation, fear, hopelessness and so much more. I also believe that if these girls had a choice they'll never marry a man 4 times older than they are. Nobody should sit there and tell me that this is the only way out! That the only way to curb immorality in a society is by involving them in the same immoral act but this time backed up by the Government. How dare he tell us such crap! It's completely unacceptable! |
