I am not surprised in the least bit that he wants another private jet. Someone who could not go to the North east to console people who have lost their love ones can not be reasonable to the plight of the whole citizenry who are hit hard by his economic recklessness.

Even stark PDP supporters will find it difficult to defend his want for another jet at this period in time for our economy.

He claimed he had no shoes, we pitied him, now we are suffering it.

Marriage counsellors will advise - don't marry someone out of pity" I guess we now need to add "don't vote someone out of pity".

With all due respect....the government should not be buying new executive jets.

Not now...when our treasury cannot sustain such extravagances.

From this article, despite frantic efforts by SH to sound alarmist, it is still very clear that no new jet is being purchased, rather a trade in is being done for one of the available jets. For those who know, in such procurements, manufacturer trade in could be aimed at achieving sustained warranty support, equipment and spare parts availability and to save money in the long run. It is often more expensive to maintain an older model of a product than to trade it in for a new one with better features. That is part of why firms change even official cars after 3 years most times.

Is the size of the Nigeriam Government large, yes! Is this particular procurement a wastage, we do not have enough information to say yet. During budget defence, the leader of Presidential Airfleet will be on ground to present his reasons and APC NASS members will have their chance to engage in logic and not all this emotional outburst by farmiliar handles on NL.

Re: President Jonathan To Buy New Executive Jet by akinsadeez(m): 7:34am On Dec 24, 2014
I dont know why you guys are complaining. You know Jonathan travels a lot and he needs state of d art technology. You know he has to visit d boko haram ravaged states and he cannot go in just any plane, he needs a supersonic armor plated jet. Also the current planes in d presidential fleet are no longer comfortable enough for Mrs Pej. You know the comfort of our dear first lady is so paramount at this juncture of our democracy and we therefore need a new jet with plush interior seats that can completely encapsulate the large round frame of our first lady and also deflect witches and wizard attack while in the air.

These and many more are the reasons why a new plane is a welcome development undecided

Good explanation (and your point is taken...and I gave you a like), but still, Government must find ways to reduce cost.

As things stand....all levels of Government are overbloated....and need to be de-bloated.(my words).

Austerity should be selling of some of the private jets.

Do you agree he already has 9? If yes, please name us countries in the whole who have so much private jets in their airfleet. Please do.

Don't get deceived by his silly point. If we are talking of saving cost, then they should be selling off some of the jets in the presidential fleet. That's the true austerity.
