That Sudanese warlord is a daredevil! South Africa has a functional judicial system unlike most African states, and a strong Western presence. Bashir should have been wise enough to stay away. If he got mailed to the Hague from there, he should blame the cocky fool in him.

SA is heading for destruction and it's long overdue. How can a president head for another country on a diplomatic mission only to be kidnapped and handed over to another country. Jesus! I can imagine it and I don't want to believe it.

The ICC indicted Al-Bashir for war crimes in 2009 for his role in the 2003 conflict which resulted in the death of more than 300‚000 people and displaced 2.5-million people‚ according to United Nations.

I support ICC indictment of world leaders who commited heinous crimes against humanity.
But ICC has not been totally fair. It mostly targets Africa.

Why haven't it called for the arrest of former U.S. president George W. Bush, and his VP, Dick Cheney, for war crimes? These two and their minions caused between 800,000 and 1.3 million deaths! Why are they not indicted?!

The U.S isn't a signatory to the ICC, so the ICC can't prosecute US leaders.

This is just wrong, he was in SA for the AU summit so any attempt to extradite him to face war crimes charges at the ICC will act as a deterrent to other leaders/dictators in future with regards to attending such meetings....
The ICC should stop concentrating on African leaders and other world leaders who have fallen out of favour with western power brokers if it must maintain it's integrity...It's obvious the ICC is a tool of west...
Moreover, the continuous in fighting in southern Sudan years after she voted to part ways with Sudan is a pointer that it's more of greed and other factors rather than Bashir's influence that has fueled the crisis all this years...I'm in no way holding brief for the actions/inactions Al Bashir though...

He should pay for the crime he commited in Dafur. We expected Jonathan to do the same when the Sudanese President was in Nigeria.
He ran away than before the matter could even be discussed. He is a very bad man and should rot in jail

Oh, wow, my gast is flabber! I cant decide if South African leaders are super-stupid, super-brave or what. Is this my Christmas and birthday all in one, Sudan leadership play some role in Bokoharam, South Africa has betrayed and humiliated Nigeria no end. Omar al-Bashir probably also has a hand in some of the problems South Sudan is encountering. Nevertheless, the repercussions will be dire if the president of Sudan ends up in the West on some sort of indictment due to this South African dilemma. For one thing i see terrorism making it's way to South Africa and South Africa is going to be vilified by the Pan Africanists not because of any love for Omar al-Bashir but because of a perception that will grow that South Africa serves the cause of imperialists. And this is just the beginning

It's like the thing is shamelessly just for Africans. Whether they want it or not, while the rest can opt out ( needless to say, most of the employees and - funds come from the US.

Sudan president should have stayed in his country, knowing that the world is looking for his head.
Some African leaders can be to over confident.

Just like Kasahmu's case .

Africa should walk out of the ICC en mass. If that court was fair George Bush should have been arrested for destroying entire continent in the guise of war on terror.
Th e next time Blair comes here, I will approach the high court to arrest him for the crimes against humanity he perpetuated in Iraq.

Well, you're right. The reason why U.S. is not a participant is because of the atrocities its leaders committed.
Though, the Obama Administration has re-established a working relationship with the court.

It will do you a lot of good to study the US/Iran relationship for clarification. This is not to say that the Iranian leader is a war criminal like Al- Bashir.

Away with your "or else"!
The point here is this! That 2 leaders from 2 unfriendly countries who ve long standin issues, is not enough to even bring up d issue of arrest! There is notin about Iran, US and West acrimony that started in d 50s that I don't know about! There is no point sayin US could ve called for d arrest of Iranian President!

What a pupet government.

Let America go to sudan and arrest him there

Omar Al-Bashir is attending the AU summit. The Sudanese President "IS NOT DETAINED" and "WILL NOT BE DETAINED". The white South African judge by the name of Hans Fabricius who issued the order can bark as much as he wants, Africa is not impressed by his dirty scheme

The ANC considers that the ICC is no longer useful (http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/ANC-ICC-no-longer-useful-20150614) and the African Union is planning a withdrawal from the the Kangooroo court

Good Idea. Two can play that game. The west and their organisations need to learn to respect our leaders, especially after we have have elected them by landslide votes like Omar el Bashir was just the other day.

Sudan, Algerian, Turkey, Israel, Russia, China,Zimbabwe, the US,India, Vietnam and many other countries are not signatories to the ICC

This Kangooroo court only target the negroes. That's why it is so critical for African Heads of State to withdraw from the Rome Statute in a matter of emergency

Every head of state guilty of such heinous crime should be punished but ICC has been overlly African centric. They make it seem like it's established to hunt African leaders. Once more they want African leaders to betray their own like they did to Gaddafi.
