It's a coalition of "Muslim" and "Arab" nations, and unfortunately for you, Nigeria is a Muslim nation
Shut ur mouth, Nigeria is not a Muslim country for ur information and get it into ur head.

There is nothing bad joining any organization that would bring some benefits to the country.

But in the case of the said alliance, may be nigeria was not contacted before the country's name was included.

To be candid the alliance is just a charade, nothing else.

Listing Nigeria as one of the nations to fight ISIS isn't the issue but tagging Nigeria an Islamic/Arab nation is what is unacceptable.

You guys should get it into your thick skulls , NIGERIA IS AN ISLAMIC STATE!!!

It is also a Christianity state if you go by associations. Would you want to debate that?

Nigeria is not governed by the rules of associations that they belong to unless they are included in the Nigeria Constitution.

So by constitution, Nigeria is a plural state. Not an Islamic state.

You can disagree but that's the fact na.

When IBB enlisted Nigeria into OIC in 1986 do you think it was for fun? Beside, Christian Obasanjo solidified our OIC membership by attending their conference in 2002. Muslim Yar'adua re-affirmed our OIC membership in 2008 and Christian Goodluck again validated it by attending their conference in 2013 in Egypt. So you see that Nigeria is an Islamic country contrary to what we are told? Even the constitution recognises sharia rule and sharia courts. Which secular country have that?

From your post it appears Nigerians are aware and comfortable with this clear islamic agenda conceived and hatched over 30yrs ago and just like you are doing now, subsequent administration of Christian extraction have furthered the agenda either by ignorance, shear stupidity or trying to appear politically correct just like you doing now.

Well it is certain that if we continue in this insolence our generation unborn shall wake up one morning pointing east whilst taking a bow and screaming allahu akbar.

The black man truly is afflicted with mental myopia no different from that of a boiling frog.

Nigeria is technically an Islamic Country by virtue of her OIC's membership. I don't see anything wrong in joining a coalition against ISIS if the military force will wipe out Boko haram. It is unfortunate that we tend to neglect the substance to focus on the form of the package.

Abeg please helep me tell them o

I'll agree if they say due to our own internal brouhaha we can not partake in what may affect our military strength
Where was CAN when OIC was giving us interest-free loans and grants? Where was CAN when GEJ/OBJ were smiling at OIC meetings? Because they hear the term 'Arab and Muslim' they are going gaga. Lubbish

Though a Christian, I see nothing immoral about the alliance. In fact, if I was President I will setup think-tanks to advice me on immediate action. As long as our membership of OIC remains, we are an Islamic Country. As long as we sponsor people on religious pilgrimage, we are not any secular State. As long as our constitution recognises sharia and sharia courts, we are not secular. Beside, nothing strange!

A country with mixed religion like nigeria isn't suppose to be listed, cus most of the population are christains and we can't just go to fight for a course we do not know, yes i know that boko haram don do collabo with isis but that doesn't mean we should go fight them cus we haven't finished with our own boko problem. Ok what if nigeria soildiers are sent out for the war against isis who would fight boko haram down here, and also not all soildiers are muslim which means christians are also gonna fight for islamic problems under the words that we are an islamic country.

On the contrary, I'm neither ignorant nor trying to be politically correct. I'm only speaking from the dictate of my conscience.

The solution is very simple, we can't deny a people their right to be called what they wish neither is it proper to impose a name on another group to satisfy the first group. Nigeria should be a loosed federal state where constituents federating region can have the power to join int'l religious organisation and be ruled according to the preferred system of the populace. But the State as a whole should withdraw from any religious attachment.

By the way, nobody can force another in the south or anywhere to revert to islam or convert to christianity.

.. This is one of the reasons while nigerians has been rejecting Buhari for ages in previous elections. He is been viewed as a religious fanatic. Now it is under his watch that our country has been identified as a Muslim /Arab country whereas Nigeria is a SECULAR country. This is really a change govt indeed.

I never said anything about delisting Nigeria from OIC.

You believe the rules of an association is more than the constitution of a Country? Nigerias constitution is supreme and OIC rules are not in it. The only thing OIC can do is to delist Nigeria from among them if they can't meet up with their rules. They can't institute a claim on Nigeria and can't enforce any form of authority over Nigeria except threatening to withdraw their services to Nigeria.

Nigerias constitution is supreme. That is it.
