The Saudi prince didn't talk about ISIS in particular tho. He said "TERRORISM".

Lebanon, Tunisia, Nigeria, Egypt and Morocco should have declined but who knows the pressures they were under.

Notable absences include, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Indonesia (the largest muslim state in the world) and Algeria. Well done these countries.

No European Muslim countries, like Albania or non recognised Kosovo or Azerbaijan. No Central Asian states either.

That's the biggest lie in history bro. Nigeria isn't secular one bit.

When IBB enlisted Nigeria into OIC in 1986 do you think it was for fun? Beside, Christian Obasanjo solidified our OIC membership by attending their conference in 2002. Muslim Yar'adua re-affirmed our OIC membership in 2008 and Christian Goodluck again validated it by attending their conference in 2013 in Egypt. So you see that Nigeria is an Islamic country contrary to what we are told? Even the constitution recognises sharia rule and sharia courts. Which secular country have that?

Nigeria is technically an Islamic Country by virtue of her OIC's membership. I don't see anything wrong in joining a coalition against ISIS if the military force will wipe out Boko haram. It is unfortunate that we tend to neglect the substance to focus on the form of the package.

Pls drop that idea. Nigeria is a secular nation, what do you mean by being technically Islamic?

Pls if Nigeria wants to join in fighting Isis, it shouldn't be as an Islamic nation.

First, u start by asking what d major problem of Igbos are, with that silly nickname that better describes u and urs. Is CAN an Igbo organisation? Are Igbos d only Christians in Nigeria?

You go further to expose ur unparalleled lack of understanding about these issues. Is Nigeria an islamic country? Should such an involvement not be debated properly within our domain before getting involved? There is a reason Nigeria must abstain from certain labels which otherwise pass a wrong message which begins to confirm certain suspicions and stir the already irate hornet's nest!

On what basis do u assume that more than half of Nigeria's population are muslim? U are the kind that just like to make statements for the hell of it without proper regard and thought.

There's no excuse for this sort of rubbish. If Nigeria is an Islamic country, does that mean our constitution is an islamic constitution? Or that our army is an Islamic Army which doesn't have any serving or active members from other religions? What is exactly was the criteria for classifying Nigeria as an islamic State (IS)? That is the problem with these raggies. They are so presumptious and tactless and so much in disregard of other religions that they believe they can take decisions on behalf of non-muslims and the non-muslims will simply tag along. Lest they forget,if they carry on with their mentality, Nigeria is not as unbreakable as they think it is. The can only push the rest of us so far before we take action to defend our rights.

was named among the 34.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/12/saudi-arabia-forms-muslim-anti-terrorism-coalition-151215035914865.html

Saudi Arabia forms Muslim 'anti-terrorism' coalition
Alliance includes 34 mainly Muslim states but excludes regional rival Iran as well as Iraq and Syria.

Saudi Arabia has formed a coalition of 34 mainly Muslim countries - including powers such as Egypt and Turkey - to coordinate a fight against "terrorist organisations".
The alliance was announced by Mohammed bin Salman, the country's defence minister and deputy crown prince, on Tuesday.

Arab countries such as Qatar and the UAE will join the coalition, as well as Middle Eastern, Asian and African states including Pakistan, Malaysia, and Nigeria.

Reading through the original report, the word 'mainly' clearly means that not all nations involved are arab nations, it is not written anywhere that Nigeria is an arab nation. From the report, Nigeria was listed as an 'African State' just like some other clearly non-arab nations like Gabon and Ivory Coast.

Unfortunately, Nigeria has been sooo divided by religion that even the most meaningless things awaken the paranoia in people and they begin to pee in their pants and speak irrationally. It is highly depressing because even the most educated people shamelessly fall for the most senseless conspiracy theories and propaganda. Some dubious personality obviously twisted the original story to suit his political narrative by claiming that PMB has registered Nigeria in an 'ALL' arab nations alliance and even supposedly educated people within the ranks of CAN have swallowed this folly and spreading it to Nigerians?

Anyway, just like Tonyebarcanista has rightly pointed out, Nigeria still remains a member of the OIC and that is not the making of PMB as the jonathanian wailers are singing about ignorantly.

Nigeria was not labelled as an Islamic nation. Go and read the original report and stop allowing political charlatans deceive you with the way they twist stories for devilish reasons. I'm surprised even CAN would stoop this low, probably out of sheer paranoia or maybe just in a bid to remain relevant.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/12/saudi-arabia-forms-muslim-anti-terrorism-coalition-151215035914865.html

Here's a link to the real report where it clearly states "mainly arab states and some middle eastern, asian and african countries." Nations like Gabon and Ivory coast which are clearly not islamic nor arab are also included in the alliance. The word 'mainly' means that not all countries in the list were referred to as arab or islamic. And yeah, Nigeria being in the OIC has nothing to do with APC or Buhari, let's stop all these unecessary and unhealthy falsehoods and divisions.

Bye and continue with your blame game of who did what, when we have a new government of APC whose definition of Nigeria is unambiguous and clearly stated in its manifesto for which CAN has express right to question when the covenant is compromised or broken.

Making sense with in-depth analysis is different from sentimental opinions devoid of essential aspects of the topic being debated.
