He is not suppposed to say the plain truth,he is supposed to be diplomatic. He is our president for crying out loud,if other pple speak ill about Nigerians our president should not. A father does not go about telling pple his son is evil even if it is true,he tries to defend his son in public and admonish him in private.

The Bible say " Know the truth and the truth shall set you free " Buhari was addressing Nigerians in London and not the diplomatic community, he was telling them the damage their criminal acts is having on the image of Nigeria.

In this information age, it is not what a single person says that shape public image, it is what is on social media. Facebook, twitter and even Nairaland influences our public image far more than anything the president can say. Do you know the number of foreigners that read Nairaland? Nairaland has far more influence on Nigeria's image than what the president can say.

No sane leader goes around tarnishing the image of his country. Does he know the amount of money sent home by Nigerians in diaspora? If that source of money is ended because of one foolish comment from a self proclaimed holy man in the mist of criminals. Take for example most middle east countries are known for terrorism but their leaders don't come out and call everybody terrorists or even agree that they are terrorists. In a properly run country bubu should face a Senate panel that may even lead to an impeachment process because he just failed in one of his most important duties to Nigeria to protect us against external influence. #bubuenemyofnigerians

Keep quiet there. What do you know? Where have you been? The bitter truth is,Nigeria has a bad image in many western countries.
... and it's the duty of your president to brandish it to the world to scare away investors. Smh. Pray tell me the country that don't have any crime being perpetuated? Until Nigeria is finally grounded by Buhari's cluelessness, sycophants like you will still crown him king. Objectivity, zero. Smh! undecided

how can a zombie like you have more reasoning capacity more than me? Impossible! Not in this life, not in the one to come. I'm sure you are still a dependent and won't know the implication of scaring away foreign investors. When you eventually grow up (if you ever will), you will understand. Right now keep basking in being a good fanatic and zombie. It suits you perfectly.

Nigerians can be funny sometimes, to me I don't see any thing wrong in what Buhari said. A clear conscience fear no accusation. Nigeria has the highest number of churches and Mosque in the whole world, still we can't do without corruption and greed. All our past and present routers of our economy are either devoted Christian or Muslim.
Most of Christians can't do without sunday and weekly service, to me we worship God in this country only with our mouth. Please nobody should disturb Buhari for saying the truth. There is no Prison in any country that u can't see a Nigeria inside.

Quite that scare away investor shiit you guys yap about, Negative image cannot scare away the type of investors Nigeria attract. Nigeria attracts Lebanese, Indian, Chinese and Israeli investors, investors who love and thrive in corrupt prone environments. European, American and Japanese investors would never come to Nigeria (- Except maybe in the oil and gas sector). Most of them left ages ago. Most European and US companies that came to invest in Nigeria had serious trouble with their home governments. If a US or European company is involved in corrupt practices abroad, those involved would be jailed.

Nigerians have the highest population in Africa and are the most travelled. so no of crime committed mayb Higher than other African countries as a result of this. Nigeria govt should lobby for visa free travels for its citizens not make things hard for them. If not for those abroad many at home would ve died of hunger. Do you know how much is remitted back home every year? Pls make statement and policies to help those abroad and not make things difficult for them. Like lobby for work visas for graduates to. Nigerian citizens which will help in employment area etc

Are Africans the only people in U.K?

By your post, you agree that even more developed countries have more criminals in U.K , yet their presidents do not go on foreign media to call them criminals.

Buhari is just pathetic.
You are pathetic because you fail to understand a simple statement.Buhari never mentioned anynames or pointed any fingers at anyone but because you already have a pre-concluded idea about him, you cherry pick his words and turn it into something malevolent. What else can he do to prove to you people that he actually loves his country and is just bitter by those who don't mind devastating the whole country just cause of their own selfish interest.

Have you heard of diplomacy, sweetie, he should lie if that will promote and favor NIgeria. Diplomats lie only the time,in fact most of he time, they tell you one thing while they are doing another. Come home and deal with your problems. That's why I still like obasanjo, he gave it back to that Musician that sang Nigerian jagajaga. I'm sure he will never berate us in foreign land no matter how bad it is a home and abroad.

I get ur point..

And who set the standard for professionalism? If his actions will yield any positive results, then by all mean let him redefine professionalism.

Bro, if a wife is a bad cook and her husband doesn't tell people jokingly, then friends and family that taste her food will broadcast it seriously for him and that ridicule he was ultimately avoiding will happen.

#nomorecoverups.

grandstar:

What he did is professionally wrong.

Its not about saying the truth.

Its like broadcasting to people that your wife is a nasty cook. That should strictly be between you and your wife.

OP and whoever is in charge, Please disable my account here on nairaland and or show me how to do so. I don't want to read or
contribute here anymore because is littered with snow pokes and dullards ready to lick Bubu's anus after defecation in the name of support. Most worrisome, is that the idiots that full this medium live thousands of kilometers away from Bubu and he doesn't know if they exist individually. How on earth could elected president who is the eyes of the whole country of over 170 million people, tell the whole world that his countrymen are criminals and some scums here are supporting him?. Yes, after informing the world that your country is a rogue and criminal country, you expects them to come and invest in your country with their hard earned money. All this just for his selfish aggrandisement to appear before the world as the only honest leader and person in the midst of 170 million people. Nigerians made really a made common and avoidable mistake by electing bubu and they will pay for it individually...
