I have looked on at the gullibility of Nigerians. Celebrating this 'servants' when they build far and between structures thinking they have made your lives better. I lost the little respect for Fashola when the news of the website came up and his ultimate retort to 'not signing cheques'. Buhari on the other hand played his cards early when I saw his assembled crack team of Ministers, I lost it. Looking on to 2019 is all I can say. You need to grill your potential Presidential candidates for at least a year to understand their policies if any in order to know what solutions they got. Unfortunate to say, this Government has lost the plot!! 7 Likes |

edoyad: I prefer cordial journalists. The whole interruption schtick is corny and played out. He tries to embarrass people through intimidation because it's his platform. A man's viewpoint if superior can stand on its own. He shouldn't have to badger his counterpart to prove his point. 5 Likes 1 Share |

I don't see any grilling here, chai why make a mountain out of a mole Hill. notice to Children of hate, it is okay not to be perfect all the time. Fashola is a role model to many Nigerians because of his competence and character that many people want to emulate. it's so funny that you found time to watch hard talk and yet when you watched programs like ( my country Venezuela) aired by the same BBC, showing how the country is literally on its knees due to fall in oil prices,it dint make you appreciate the hard work that this administration is doing in other to ensure we don't go through that path. 5 Likes |

I just watched the interview and to be honest with you Fashola answered every question well, the man interviewing him know this that's why he always change the topic whenever Fashola is taking control of the interview. Many idiots here bashing Fashola couldn't bring out anything off point that Fashola has said but decided to diss him. I'm pretty sure 90% of them didn't watch the video they just want to rant and make foolish jokes, if you have watched the video and still made silly jokes here without actually pointing out his flop(s) then you must either be stupid or from the lost tribe of Israel 9 Likes |

The economic situation is dire for countries dependant on commodities especially oil. From Angola to Canada to Venezuela we have countries groaning and looking for solutions. A country of fantastically corrupt individuals who cheat in exams, eschew hardwork whilst applauding and celebrating individuals who have "made it" without any verifiable source of income cannot be made to perform overnight. The minister did a good job considering the circumstances Nigeria faces today. He fended off negative remarks by sticking to the issues. He conducted himself in a manner that echos his high intellect. Issues of acute hunger in the North East would not be done and dusted overnight as one considers the insecurity that side of the country has recently witnessed. In terms of power and infrastructure, the present government is showing commitment though the road is rough. My personal opinion on the economy is that no economist, sage or magician can single handedly resuscitate this economy. The people of Nigeria cannot continue to live on imported items enriching other nations by doing so, whilst expecting the Naira to appreciate, infrastructure to be built and a rise in the indices which underline quality of life. The economic climate would continue to be this way perhaps worsen until Nigerians address the truth. The truth is we are not creative, inventive and certainly not self sufficient. We have been spoilt by years of high oil prices which was a marked aberration. The wealth of the past has been duly squandered. The nation requires intellect, a paradigm shift and total participation. Whilst the youth think there is a politician that would effect or oversee a buoyancy from nothing they instead transmute from being bubbly young 'uns to old and battered pensioners. The ability to change the economy starts with your ability to change your economy. Nigeria would change when the youth change their orientation. When the youth begin to create products and services that their immediate neighbours latch unto. When their services become household names and brands. When they meet the needs of society. Nigeria would not change on wishes or gnashing of teeth. The people need to change first. 7 Likes 1 Share |

I don't think most of the people on this thread criticizing Fashola actually watched this video. Fashola handled this interview very well in my opinion, he never evaded any of the questions. HardTalk interviews are designed to be confrontational, and it takes nerves of steel to be calm and focused when answering them. Kudos to Obasanjo and Buhari who have been on HardTalk. It does say a lot about Jonathan that he was never on it, I would have loved to hear him explain his Goat and Yam hypothesis to the world. 10 Likes 1 Share |
