And that is the problem with brainless individuals like you; if I so wanted I could create an online forum that discriminates against and abuses any race I so choose. There is even a site where black Africans and black Americans wage verbal war against each other daily; ironically, that is the beauty of America: freedom. America is like the Bible in that anyone could make almost anything look bad by arguing in a particular context, while neglecting the overall advantages of America. It is illegal to discriminate in God's own country on the basis of, at least, one of race, gender, age, nationality, disability, and religion.

Of course you can be a racist in your own home, but you cannot use it to discriminate publicly lest you face the wrath of the law. And what about tribalism in Nigeria? The fact still remains that not all Nigerians are tribalistic just like not all Americans are racist.

I am guessing that you are not in Nigeria; if I am right then you would be amongst many hypocritical Nigerians who religiously find faults with their adoptive western homes, but have refused to go back to their former homes which they think are better.

west africa has long been hazardous for europeans due to the climate, and that's why they didnt settle in the place in large numbers like they did in southern africa.

Back to the topic, I am still expecting more relevant opinions as regards why america seems to be number 1 in everything. There is no need lamenting or denying that they are blessed - everything clearly points to the fact that they are superior to the rest of the world economically, militarily, and in terms of socio-cultural influence. No need debating that. The real question remains, why is the country so blessed?

To put it simply, if americans were transfered to nigeria and nigerians were transfered to USA, in the space of one year USA would become nigeria and nigeria would become USA - in terms of physical and socio-economic development. I am 100% sure of this

Seriously I don't know why you're off on a tangent with these wild views. Consider the sheer size of America . About 50 times that of Nigeria and with a very fertile land and temperate climate. These factors have enabled American companies to enjoy tremendous competitive advantage by their exploitation of low cost- high volume manufacturing.

At the end of the day though development is not about physical structures per se but rather the development of human capital . The extent to which human capital can be developed in a country is of course constrained by the culture and tradition as well as the sheer quantum of financial resources available and expended per head. However proper development of human capital would in turn lead to the development and efficient maintenance of the required physical and social infrastructure.

@topic: I think African people deserve much more credit than they are given. I mean, there are basic human rights issues that are violated and all I am saying is ONLY IN THAT should America be used as a platform. AGAIN: America has its flaws but it still for the most part abide by its basic constitutional laws. But don't get it twisted, Africa is NOT "under developed" at all it's just black and white people represent two different cultures. We contrast in EVERY way from physical to mentality. Here's what I am getting to by mentioning black and white:

Africa is a "not so great" fusion of indigenous and imperialistic cultures. Dictators Mobutu and Idi Amin are prime examples of this. Their ancestors were conquered and their tribal wars capitalized to create further division (this was done solely to prevent uprising). So when they (Mobutu and Amin) were finally given the chance to reign the first thing they did was use the torture methods of the Europeans to oppress their rival tribes rather than see themselves as struggling together and to rise as a black race. Instead they purchased luxury cars, homes and villas not to mention spent money on high class p.rostitutes and security while ignoring the famine and tribalism plaguing the society. Meanwhile their white former oppressors used the bloodshed to highlight via CNN and the likes that "this is why these negros needed us in the first place!" because white ppl were able to master the "look out for our own but be smart" method. We have yet to. I refer back the first line that "Africans deserve much more credit" after all of that to say that Africa has suffered far great than anyother land on this planet Earth and yet Africa stil has it's foundation, after attempt after attempt to cripple Africa it still stands because there are still

Africans who believe in rights and equal justice many of whom die for that. The only thing is each black/ African country has to figure out how to rule itself without prejudice in terms of religion and tribe IF AND ONLY IF they wish to be part of the "western" world/ international community; MASTER THAT AND I SWEAR Africa will be a super power as a continent! - an international attraction!
