Delta State government has announced plans to enact a law prohibiting sale and consumption of cow meat, saying cow meat was the reason for herdsmen presence in Delta communities.

Executive assistant to Governor Ifeayi Okowa on communication, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in a statement noted that efforts by the state government and the governor, to check the incessant killing of innocent Deltans are remarkable, but both the Executive and Legislative arm of governments must take proactive steps to curb these deception and enact enforceable laws prohibiting sale and consumption of cow meat in Delta State.

According to him, “Fulani Herdsmen have been around for several decades, going about their businesses peacefully and without any form of criminality traced to them and their activities until a decade ago.

“Their criminal activities grew geometrically and became worrisome and consistent as soon as President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office as civilian president. It has been alleged that Mr president is a core Fulani breed, a prominent cattle rarer and exhibits strong passion for the wellbeing of cattle and herdsmen.

“It is worrisome that the Presidency and security agency’s high command seem to pay deaf ears to the unlawful killings perpetuated by these herdsmen now alleged to be a militant unit of the dreaded Boko Harram militia group. Their leader is a core Fulani breed and resides in the Sambisa forest for reasons best known to the financiers of the group.”

He added that, “Fulani Herdsmen parade streets in our cities, communities and farmlands with assault raffles; AK 47 and revolver pistols killing farmers and raped young girls and married women in our farmlands, destroying cash crops and invading communities, some in military uniforms.

Okowa about to make the most important move of his career.
I have suggested that all states affected by herdsmen crisis ban the buying and selling of beef.
Apart from being dangerous to human health and longevity, it is fueling the killing of innocent people.

There is nothing as effective as an economic blockade since the killers are being protected by federal machinery.
I hope he can see it through.

Wow!

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BAN THE SALE OF BEEF because:

Beef is the No. 1 source of meet for the common man (Beef is the cheapest among other source of meat like the goat, chicken and turkey).

If Okowa bans beef, wetin people go chop?

The best thing to do is to create their own Amotekun or ban open grazing. (Even the open grazing no go work)

Thank you.

This seems too extreme.

Banning eating of meat is infringing on people's fundamental rights.

Why not just ban open grazing? And then follow it up to the letter?

Why can't local businessmen from every state buy cows directly from the North and sale to consumers in their various states . Let the Fulanis keep their cows in their home states.

How is beef the cheapest? Buy 1 full Chicken of 1,500 and beef of 1,500 and the difference will be like 7up.

There you have it.

When I call them clowns, some insult me.

See their solution.

So if rice, beans or fowls farmers start killing people too, you ban the products without going for them abi.

Nonsense and ingredients.

Mitchewww

Edited: All these clowns with single digit IQ quoting me is the reason we always have mediocres at the helm of affairs.

So banning beef is the most viable option..chai

Good Lord!!! Ban travelling by road too because of kidnapping. Ban living in North East too so Boko Haram won't see who to attack.

Nonsensical ingredients.

That dosen't sound good to me.
The state can make it compulsory to obtain a license before starting livestock or cattle rearing biz,you just legitimately give out license to only Deltans...
