Asour:Every single human in that age bracket have issues with cholesterol related to beef consumption. It is just that some people system recover faster than others. Hundreds of research have concluded that cutting out meat consumption(mostly beef) is better for wellbeing and longevity. It is double jeopardy to be eating health-damaging beef while also fueling the death of innocent people. Young humans may need meat but not necessarily beef. 1 Like |

fineboynl:Once you ban Fulani cow meat, watch and see buhari will ban fish etc imports and even place laws to frustrate local chicken, goat etc farmers just to force you to eat cow. Lol. Do you know it is cheaper to import quality beef from Brazil etc than the desease cows this Fulani breed? Nigeria is the only place in the world where beef is not sold per kg instead you will be pricing. Fulani beef that you will boil and boil it wount get soft from all the treaking the cows do. Metcheew?! |

This is the democracy and everything has a process. Believe me the people of delta will protest if they feel they don't like the planned ban but who are we outsiders to question how they want to run their state affairs. When human lives are involved, I believe all options should be explored. Concerning banning open grazing, we all know that Benue state has not been able to fully implement the ban simply because the people who are killing and causing troubles have the army at their beck and call. 2 Likes |

The rich people in the state should go into livestock farming and set up proper ranches to rear cows. You don't have to ban cow meat because of some useless and senseless blood suckers. Have your own cows and send the MFs back to wherever they came from and if they attempt to attack your people, finish them off. |

If they can pull it through, that's good. That should cause the herdsmen to leave Delta State. But it would require a lot of discipline that I don't think Nigerians possess. While they are at it, the government should train Deltans on modern cattle rearing and provide financial support for them to set up ranches. Deltans are good in farming and should have no problem in rearing their own cattle. They should also set up a State security outfit similar to Amotekun. In the meantime, they should sensitize the people on the need to avoid buying beef except from a ranch or from Shoprite ( I believe that Shoprite beef is ranch raised). |

Re: Delta State To Ban Cow Meat Sale And Consumption by executive12: 1:36am On Feb 25, 2020 |
hope4nigeria: It's stupidity. Without Okowa officially placing the ban, Southerners should, on their own, avoid buying Fulani herdsmen beef. |

Re: Delta State To Ban Cow Meat Sale And Consumption by Bekool(m): 1:47am On Feb 25, 2020 |
dre11: If this ban takes effect its going to throw out thausands of non fulanis out of cow meat business in the whole delta state a lot of igbos and other tribes depends on the killing and sale of cow meat for daily survival especially here in warri. Why can't gov.okowa and the delta state house of assembly enact an anti grazing law in delta state like in benue? The ban won't drive away the blood thirsty fulaniherdsmen they might just still decide to use delta state as a grazing area to breed their cows and sell to other neighboring states. |

fineboynl: They will all become VERY EXPENSIVE AND UNAFFORDABLE if beef is banned as demand for them will increase, creating scarcity, which leads to inflation. Banning beef is an intensely stupid idea. I'm shocked that so many nairalanders support it. |

Renforce: Pork is WHERE? Thoughtless mumus. ''Pork is there''. Does your father rear pigs? How many pig farmers exist in your town or state? Just talking rubbish without thinking. We have NOTHING like enough pig supplies to replace beef in Nigeria. |
Re: Delta State To Ban Cow Meat Sale And Consumption by Rossinnki: 2:17am On Feb 25, 2020 |
Cars and buses kill thousands of Nigerians every year. 500 times more than herdsmen. Why don't we ban cars and buses? Mumus. Okowa, instead of STUPIDLY talking about banning beef, should work on setting up his own 'Amotekun', instead of making life harder for ordinary people. I'm sure during his beef ban he would be eating imported beef from America or Brazil in his state house, which the common man cannot afford. |
