The pay is very good especially if you have a certification. Learn the basics...TCP/IP , Linux OS, the command line for a start.

I prefer TS over JS, but I can share resources in the slack, plus i assist people with their Upworks profile, the goal is having community of devs we can outsource our work to, soonce a gig comes, i can send to another dev add my money and we both get paid and move on. I don't believe in just me knowing alot of tech without sharing it with another. Outsourcing is the sweet spot, the issue is finding competent devs.

With a domain and Hosting, I earn too little because there r others who will even pay less.
5k is within the gain range after deducting domain and hosting

Thats way too small maybe you should try using Nigerian hosts or hosts that give you the option to pay in naira.

Great I am on it. I already have a Certification on CNSS ( Certified Network Security Specialist) but for me that look as the basic as Pentester Certification is like mastering the art. How available are remote works on as a Pentester because I am on a paid employment already. I am really glad to come across a Pentester as they are not as common as developers

As as dev myself, sometimes I delve into selected graphics jobs just to settle some bills. And my graphics job, no matter how small. It's $50. So If I run 3 designs in a space of 24 - 48hrs, that's $150. Convert to naira... aboy you go flex weekend small.

I understand you bro!! But not in programming or any tech related career. You can only survive in this field if you're really good at what you're doing. You keep updating, Keep practicing, keep reading programming documentations, keep learning new introduced tools and framework. No room for lazyness in technology career or else you will fade away then abandoned it for those people who really serious about it. It can't be saturated like other fields. Get 10 guys today buy each of them a laptop and data to start learning programming or any tech related field, 2 years later, you will be surprised that hardly 3 guys will still remain learning while the other 7 must have abandoned it.

For non company projects. I have charged like 300 USD for a simple JavaScript carousel which had like ten lines of code. I however charged someone in Nigeria like 800k to build a WordPress theme. Only 150k was paid and I kuku locked the site. They no send till today. That was the end for me and working for Nigerians.

As a freelancer what to charge varies from customers, timeline, and project needs.

for Wordpress, Opencart, Magento, Silverstripe, Joomla and Drupal... I charge between $400 - $800


for Wix, Shopify. I charge between $750 - $1500

for Custom development: it's between $1,500 - $3,500

for custom server setup, VPS configuration, relay email server configuration: it's between $200 - $750


Depending on what you requirmemt is, the aforementioned prices are set to change ooo...

I've actually submitted a quote of $12,000 to a client. Problem was he was bidding for $4,000 as what he can afford. Well, the project is still pending until he gathers enough resources to fund it.

In rare cases, I've actually done a website as low as 40k... (you'll know how quick this will be)

The more money a client pays the more attention I pay to the project. That's called Value for Money.

But the client don't come everytime ooo, so what I do when I don't have any client is, I learn a new thing. You see... Still expanding my Horizon.

I told him, since its assignment, he should bring 60k for the 3, I'll leave one out as he was half done with it, He said 25k. I just blocked him without even saying anything.

If you can study and get enough lab hours and a certification then you can get remote jobs easily, even in naija jobs are becoming more available.
