I have been following this but read an article on Castles recently, LGIF 2015

http://www.castles.com.ng/magazine/article/DEVELOPER%E2%80%99S%20DELIGHT%20/614

"Other speakers at the LGIF 2015 are: Mr. Rilwan Bello Osagie (MD/ CEO of FSDH Merchant Bank Limited), Mr. Kunle Oyinloye (MD The Infrastructure Bank), Mr. Abimbola Olashore (CEO Lead Capital), Mr. Charles Nyagette (MD of the Nigerian Mortgage Refinance Company), Mr. Niyi Falade (MD Crusader Sterling Pensions) and Mr. Frank Aigbogun (Publisher Business Day)."

Some of the names I see as guest speakers are familiar names in the financial industry so am wondering where the disconnect is coming from. Why would these pple get involved in this with the public out cry on so much irregularity concerning the houses and agreements. Why didn't the aggrieved public go to this forum and air their oipinions or was it a very private matter?

@ Carpenter, that program was packaged for the unsuspecting public that needs to give Richard Nyong their hard earned money; cos he needs it to continue to float more estates to keep up with cash flow. It was not meant for already existing home owners.
If you must know, there were "customer conferences" organized in the various floated estates where discussions held between Richard/ Lekki gardens and home owners. All the constructive discussions and ideas, how many has Richard Nyong or Lekki Gardens implemented?
Instead, more and more estates are floated to deceive the unsuspecting public. People shine your eyes... all that glitter are not gold... I don't believe in BOGOF (take it or leave it... there are skeletons in the cupboard)

I picked up my keys a couple of months ago and thought I should give an update. I have started finishing. Changed all my pipes to ppr pipes just to avoid matters that touch in future. In the process of changing my security doors, the lintel fell off!!! I was horrified to say the least. My walls are not straight as well so a lot of work will be done to even that out. The sliding windows were poorly done and needed correction. I will post some pictures once the place starts to take shape.

Thanks for the update. Please continue to inform us of the situation. I am also in the process of finishing my unit in Phase 4 and I will start posting pictures shortly.

If I may ask, which unit did you buy into and how long was the wait before you collected your keys?

New horizon 1 by Nike art gallery. 3rd roundabout. Well, I got my unit in 12 months and 2 weeks. Only 2 weeks late in delivering. However, I asked to be relocated to this estate. I initially bought into the new horizon 2 which is presently 4 months behind schedule.

That's great! It's nice to hear of some LG success stories (except the lintel of course). Looking forward to seeing your unit come to life...

Is there a reason the Lagos state officials have not looked into the building plans of Lekki gardens estate and stop them from endangering the lives of future "would-be" home owners?
Why is it that Richard Nyong and his group will add an extra floor to an already completed two storey building?

Is it the right thing to do by removing the roof and adding extra floor and in some cases two floors to an already completed building?
Visit the ongoing development at Nike Art gallery road and see for yourself. They removed the roof of an existing two storey building and added an extra floor to it. Same thing is ongoing in so called Lekki paradise opposite Northern Foreshore. Why would someone after doing parapet wall for roofing decide to add 2 extra floors on a two storey building where is Lagos state Urban development authority? Are they not seeing this SHARP PRACTICE? what happened in Synagogue church and other collapsed buildings is not enough? Why endanger the lives of innocent unsuspecting Nigerians on the table of greed? is the foundation of a two storey buiding designed to sustain a 3 or 4 storey buinding? Haba!!!
I hear one of such buildings collapsed at Nike art gallery road and they removed all the workers and barricaded the area. what about the others that have not collapsed? What will happened when people are living in it? Richard Nyong, why endanger peoples lives?
Someone please call 911...

Sincerely hope this is not true.

I suspect such reports they got is the comments and experiences people have stated here. Take a look at business day newspaper and you see the PR group doing a good job for both Richard Nyong and Lekki gardens. Visit any of the developments and you will be disappointed about what is on ground. Developing 48 estates with only 1 completed is not a good report. Infrastructure in these estates are not near completion. Again I ask, what is wrong with doing the right thing? where is business ethics in all of these? what about customer satisfaction? why continue to roll out cheap houses built cheaply and rob people of their hard earned resources and yet no satisfaction on the side of home owners. This should be a win-win situation and not only lekki gardens smiling to the banks while the thousands of home owners are left to sort themselves out.

Sammiejo:
Got some further disturbing news some days ago.
Apparently a house owner in Lekki gardens estate Phase 2 wanted to obtain a mortgage on the property, a search by the bank did not reveal a good report and the mortgage was denied.
Has any bought a LGE property with a mortgage? Please what is your experience.

Sincerely hope this is not true.
You'll need to clarify the exact reason(s) why the bank declined the mortgage.

Wow. I'm still on page 7 of this thread and I'm thankful I stumbled upon it. I was sucked in by LGs glossy brochures and low prices but needless to say, after reading all this, I shall NOT be investing in this pyramid scheme. I say pyramid because I now feel that those who joined early probably got what they wanted from LG but as time goes by and based on the reviews left, a lot of people will either not get what they bargained for or even get nothing at all. I no longer want to be part of Lekki Gardens. It's just ridiculous what I've read so far! Thanks to all that contributed! It has helped a great deal.

I promised to post some pictures. Will post some more as my workers progress. Opted for the hidden tank to maximize space.

... more deception if you ask me.
IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT AINT TRUE.

There are a lot of "hidden agenda" which Richard Nyong and Lekki gardens are not telling the unsuspecting public. For sure, he is not santa claus (father Christmas) to be giving out free houses and free cars. Why not use the money for the cares to complete over 48 estates being floated so far?

OH dear!
This guys are running a real estate PONZI SCHEME here. Trust me, if money doesn't enter these guys hands in one year, the whole business will collapse like a house of cards.
If anybody had any doubt before, this new advert has cleared everything.
How can you have hundreds of paid up undelivered facilities, yet you are luring newcomers with free flats and Range Rovers?
Subscribers should take these guys to Consumer Protection Commission before it gets too late.
Thank God I pulled my investment on time!

I think we should cut Richard some slack. No doubt off plan purchase is 'extremely high risk' not only with Lekki gardens but with other developers as well... If your risk appetite is minute then this investment is not for you.

Another picture to encourage anyone still waiting for his or her property to be delivered.
