why make conclusions that will make people doubt the soundness of your mind and your ability to make logical conclusions. Because you a woman that doesnt mean you should think like a fish. The guy said fashola should thread carefully, he wasnt defending the colonel neither was he condemning fashola. In this part of the world where people sometimes abuse powers both military and civil powers. You have to make sure you keep the millitary on your side with every bit of diplomacy in you while discharging you lawful duties. Nigerians generally dont have regard for the rule of law

Ignoring his crime, i cant help but wonder; What kind of colonel is this? In a war situation this guy is supposed to be controlling hundreds if not thousands of troops! Here he is with his bulging torso saluting? shaking, panting while muttering "sorry sir" to one camera loving modaphuking bladdy corrupt civilan gov?! You guys should be worried we still have a fake colonel who acts like a wimp in the face of opposition. We spend millions training colonel Ki and he likes to be ruthless and this 'pregnant woman performance' is what we get? cry cry cry

Do the bloody civilians and the un-disciplined soldiers realise that the uniforms the khakhi boys wear and the weapons they use to intimidate others are paid for by the taxes of the same same bloody civilians

Oga sir, wetin you dey yarn! undecided
"Keeping" the 'military' on your side don't mean you should break the law. Its the same for everybody.
The colonel and his boys should be ashamed of themselves.
With this type of mindset, we can't move forward. Not in this century or next.

Your ideas of treading softly with offenders,in the name of diplomacy, fly in the face of global standards. Zero tolerance for non conformance is the order of the day. These are the days of consequence management and those who will not fall in line must be taken out. Your idea of condoning nonsense is very sick.

How is that relevant to the issue at stake here?

Consequence management: Those measures taken to protect public health and safety, restore essential government services, and provide emergency relief to governments, businesses, and individuals affected by the consequences of a chemical, biological, nuclear, and/or high-yield explosive situation

Well nigerian soldiers are too angry and they believe they are above the law , this is a country where police can fight nave and army can start a fight with police they all hate each others and instead of work hand in hand ,I have witnessed several clashed between police and army officers.

I wonder if things like this happen in ghana or even. The western world

Sun of god: Soldiers went wild yesterday and attacked officers of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit at Yaba area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

This might not be unconnected with the ‘humiliation’ of an Army Colonel by Governor Babatunde Fashola on Tuesday for driving on BRT lane.

The soldiers attacked the taskforce officials with bottles and stones and used knife to puncture two tyres of the Black Maria used in conveying offenders.

Trouble started on Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba close to an Army barracks when the taskforce officials, who were on patrol to ensure smooth flow of traffic, spotted a commuter bus parked in the middle of the road and obstructing traffic.

The tasforce officials were said to have accosted the driver but a soldier who was sitting in the bus collected the key from the driver to prevent the taskforce officials from taking the bus away.

The soldier was said to have called for reinforcement from the 81 Division barracks and within minutes, several soldiers trooped out from the barracks and began to haul stones and other dangerous missiles at the taskforce officials.

Some of the soldiers were said to be making unsavoury remarks about the governor for daring to arrest and humiliate an Army Colonel on Tuesday and decided to vent their anger on the taskforce officials.

As the situation worsened, the taskforce also called for a reinforcement.

It was in the heat of the clash that the tyres of the Black Maria were torn with knife and deflated.

An eye witness said a top military officer, a Lieutenant, allegedly ordered his boys to abduct some of the taskforce officials and take them to the barracks.

Calm was restored when a senior taskforce official intervened and asked his boys to beat a retreat.

Taskforce Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman confirmed the attack on his men and described it as an affront on the state government for soldiers to vandalise government vehicle.

He said it was wrong for soldiers to attack taskforce officials on legitimate duty with stones and other dangerous weapons.

All i have to say is "MEGA SET-UP". The bus was deliberately planted in the midst of traffic flow by the soldiers to gain taskforce officials attention. The officials were so unlucky to fall into this TRAP. But all the same this is the height of LAWLESSNESS in the Nigerian society. This is the kind of s/h/it we face everyday in Naija.

ndu_chucks: Fashola should thread very carefully. Smart leaders keep the Army on their side at all times, at all costs.

And some are like(ing) this...SMH!
Fashola shld thread carefully...y cant the colonel obey the simple rule?
The Colonel will single-handedly flog the living daylight out of any BAGA that does what he was being scolded for.
I gez Fashola shld still thread carefully if he is being slapped by a stupid Colonel.
