hi, i am responding a bit late. is your engine EW12? if the sound you hear is what i think it is, with my experiences with a number of ew12 engines dats how it sounds in the morning or after a long while been parked. A friend of mine had to return his to the buyer after several repairs by mechanics. from camshaft to timing, etc but the noise didnt stop. I almost fell victim when i first ordered a 407 ew12, luckily for me a more experienced car dealer told me thats how it sounds if the engine is cold. i have bought and sold several ew12 406 and 407 dats how they all sound in the morning. i am talking of pre-owned hre. dont know of brand new. but then it seems yours didnt start making the noise until recently.thats if we are talking about the same noise. walestega: Hi Ikenna, |

Ikenna351: @ wisesystem, concerning this antipollution fault, i want to believe the kind of fuel we use contributes to d issue. Our fuel cant be totally trusted. As for me i don dey live with the problem, may be because i dont have a permanent fox now. So anyone i drive nd displays d fault, i live with it till i part with d car. D auto tranny d9 i drive now has dat issue nd it still does avrage of 11l/100km |

Bostin: Please fox fans, am a UK based thinking to buy peugeot 406 to come use in Nigeria , kindly tell me the best model and engine that is good for our road and weather, is it advising to buy right hand drive to come convert to left hand drive in Nigeria or I should just go for left hand drive straight, if safer to convert ,kindly link me with any professional converters in Lagos or UK.. some of us would rather you stay away from conversion in naija, though i know of few people that have had quite a gd xperience with their conversions. Since u r in d UK talk to seina. He should be able to sort you out. Gd luck 1 Like |

I have been following this thread silently, even tho i often times have problems with Trac's approach, i have learnt to live with it and accept that he is not a "social butterfly" nd in as much as i respect somorin#1 and most his views, on this issue i think u r not gettin it right. I dont know but i wonder how you can get a picture of a tire dat has or is disintegratin in water. But from my stint with sciences and all what Trac has explained, it is scientifically possible. on a lighter note, its alleged tha |

I agree with Ikenna, most likely its your tyre. our tyres can be funny they can twist just by hitting a pothole or evenon their own. You could check by rubbin you palms round them you might feel a bulge or at a reputable tyre service center. if you do this and nothin atleast you've ruled out the tyres. |

@ Saintjoel; thanks for the info. most times you are correct and you know your business well. My only challenge with you is you are alwaya on the defence. A lot of people post innocent question and views but you percieve it as an attack (i stand to be corrected). If i am not wrong you need to change that attitude because its your attitude plus your apptitude that determine your altitude not just the apptitude. |

samoy: Hello, lion owners and ikenna. Pls, wat could be the problem wen lion keeps displaying braking fault and showing 'stop' on d dashboard. I own peug 406 2004model PAN. Pls, treat as urgent. Thanks a lot of symtoms will make the "stop" indicator come up even a lead coated connector to as much as something dangerous may be a failing oil pump. Since you have a braking fault display its definately got to do with your brakes. did you change any of your braking component lately?. |

Car Talk / Re: Dangers Of Buying Vehicles From Cotonou by abdulkadir(m): 8:58am On Apr 20, 2013 |
miqos02: its either you gave him a wrong impression of how you want to get your car in through the land boarders or you didnt understand what he meant. inportation of certain goods like cars is legal through nigerian land boarders; you only stand a higher risk of falling into the hands of agents who will rather smuggle than doing the needful. |
Car Talk / Re: Dangers Of Buying Vehicles From Cotonou by abdulkadir(m): 8:44am On Apr 20, 2013 |
saintjoel: do you now get certificates?, because uptill a very long period into last year there were no certificates. You were issued all other documents but no certificate. |
Car Talk / Re: Dangers Of Buying Vehicles From Cotonou by abdulkadir(m): 8:39am On Apr 20, 2013 |
@Godson201333; i've got a few questions for you and yourcustoms officer 1. Are you allowed by law to bring in goods to nigeria through land boarders? 2. Why do we have customs formation in our land boarders? 3. Are those customs formation fake since by your post they issue fake customs/ clearing documents. i think what you are refering to are cars smuggled into the country with fake customs documents. they are two different scenarios please dont mix them up. my brother cars and goods are also smuggled in through tincan; just pray you dont fall into the hands of the wrong clearing agent. |
Car Talk / Re: Dangers Of Buying Vehicles From Cotonou by abdulkadir(m): 12:02pm On Apr 17, 2013 |
tsharp: And how do you deal with the Nigerian customs? Can someone who is not an agent walk into the customs office himself and pay the duties?ofcourse even if your car came in through tincan; you hav a specific form, cant remember what its called. At the border Points its easier you make your declearation, depending on how busy the post is u drive your car out in one or two days. i beg to differ with saintjoel slightly that no nigerian has car in cotonou yes maybe nigerians dont own parks but in my location a lot of people bring in cars through cotonou instead of lagos cos clearing at land borders is cheaper nd if they decide to "fly", they do a "clean fly". i've said it before on this thread that in my location getting a car from cotonou is as easy as goin to your local market save for the stress of the journey. All the stories i hear here is quite strange. |

chinebu: Hi everyone, most people will tell you stay clear, i will most probably gowith them. Impounded cars cars are auctioned so having a price wagon them raise questions. I don't want to believe custom officers are not business minded that they would not have sold those cars to themselves at those "tempting" prices. good luck |
