Can we pay El Rufai to become a Nigerian citizen with a stake in the country? Lol! Whose people are being killed daily? I would like to know. I can't imagine leaders from any other part of the country acting as shamelessly as the core-Northern ones. They have bought themselves into headship of their people whom they have now enslaved. The El Rufai's of this world do not think their people are worth progress, but only see them as political tools to be bombed away in their vain struggle to extend the pall of enslavement they have cast over their own people to the rest of Nigeria. We tasted it in the past, and we spat it out. 1 Like |

delvinmaya: Am confused with some things here. 1st i keep reading bout 40 man laptop brigade, are people here senile and childish that they have to resort to name calling coz of a person's view? Makes u no different from boko haram. Secondly El Rufai keeps blabbing his mouth around and yet he has failed to proffer a single solution, and he is living in the past. Of what concern is it to us that he clamoured for gej to be made president during the yar'adua saga. Thats like telling me the story of how Abraham almost sacrificed his son. A wise individual once said yesterday is gone, peter rufai,so el rufai better get that into his skull. @beaf,you sef don dey gree say you be 40 man brigade,u no be man? Abeg hold onto your belief n views, anybody way dey vex fit jump in front of moving train. When people read this sort of drivel and rightly call you stup!d, you will begin to take offense like a dispossesed nanny goat. Don't post when you have nothing to say, it only reveals emptiness. 1 Like |

Imagine a man from a certain village. Imagine the women and daughters from his village being ra'ped by armed robbers who are also from his village. No, picture that man jumping in glee each time there is a violation. Now draw your conclusions about the man who rather than profer solutions to the violation of the women in his village, screams "keep away from 2015 or no peace!" ...In the meantime, yet more daughters and women are ra'ped by armed robbers who are from his village. That man is El Rufai, he is IBB, Ciroma, kaita and the other core-Northern elite vultures that see the innocent blood of even women and kids as tools to coerce positions in the 2015 elections. Core-Northerners have suffered enough under these beasts. 2 Likes |

Boko haram is a political tool to the likes of El Rufai and that is why they behave as if they are not from the region being affected by it. Just a couple of days ago, the Arewa spokesman, Antony Sani asked GEJ to make a public announcement that he wouldn't contest the 2015 elections in order for peace to come to Nigeria. Incredible! Quite clearly, El Rufai is of the same mentality, otherwise he would have responded positively to Dr Okupe's suggestion, afterall it isn't Dr Okupe's kinsmen who are directly affected. Indeed, it is quite strange for Southerners and foreigners to care more about the boko haram scourge than some of the shameless core-Northern elite like El Rufai do. 12 Likes |

wrexs: @Beaf...and why should the citizenry be the one solving the problem for the Government. what is the essence of having a Governement if they cant solve /profer solutions to problems threatening the lives of the people that elected them into power? Being a C-in-C gives such person the power to take decision that protects his people and not begging/intimating oppositions for advise or even pointing fingers at them...if you cant handle it, simply quit. Your argument is that of an enemy of Nigeria. The fact there there is a President does not stop each of us being patriotic. Even worse, it is not an excuse for subversives, desperados and lovers of the status quo like El Rufai to shout gleeful alleluya's each time a boko haram bomb takes another innocent life. If anyone wants to be an observer in our own country, then they might as well apply for a Chadian or Sudanese passport. 4 Likes |

Mr red-eyed Rufai. Dr Doyin Okupe simply asked you what solutions you profer as a Nigerian with a stake in the country, instead of being a loudspeaker of bad news like a subversive. Sir, prove that you are more than simply a winshes hero. Prove that you are not a boko haram hurrah singer. That can't be too hard, can it? 17 Likes |

naptu2: Interesting stuff, so my conjecture might not be far off. I quite agree with your ECOMOG idea, however it would have to be a brand new body, with brand new military treaties, because Niger is not a West African country (like Chad, Burkina Faso and cameroon). What would be better would be for Nigeria to greatly modernise our military so that we can project dramatic levels of force across West, Central and Northern Africa. Our virtual borders should really be Egypt, Tunisia, Kenya, Uganda etc. 1 Like |

maclatunji: The Federal Government is stealing the idea. It was one of Buhari/Bakare's campaign promises for the 2011 Presidential election. They should give credit where it is due. You've started lying again. Enforcing the provisions of the law was part of GEJ's campaign promises. This is GEJ in 2010: I read your complaints about the Settler/Indigene dichotomy and many of you are calling for a constitutional amendment to solve this issue, however, the truth is that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has already abrogated that dichotomy for the simple reason that it does not recognise any difference between the two , sets of people. If there is a difference as some insist, it is only in their minds and we must as Nigerians begin the peaceful processes of rebuilding the foundations of our citizenship. As far as our present Constitution is concerned, ALL Nigerian citizens are indigenes of any part of Nigeria. And our history is replete with a demonstration of this fact. For example the Great Zik of Africa won an election in Ibadan. Malam Umaru Altine was the first elected Mayor of Enugu and Felix Okonkwo (known as Okonkwo 'Kano') was a member of the Northern Nigeria House of chiefs. Since there is precedent for it in the past, we have to remove the glass ceiling in our minds that still believes in the Settler/Indigene dichotomy. Under the Nigerian Constitution, there is absolutely nothing stopping any Nigerian citizen who has taken residency in a state, town or ward from participating in the governance processes of that State, Town or Ward including contesting elections if the individual fulfils the constitutional requirements of residency and tax payment. If Nigerian immigrants can win City Council elections in the U.S, mayoral elections in Ireland and most recently Parliamentary seats in the British House of Commons, it should certainly be possible for a Nigerian with ancestral origins from Sokoto to win an election in Port Harcourt and vice versa. As I said, the Nigerian Constitution permits it, there are precedents for it and the only thing we have to do is to give effect to our constitutional rights which speak to our unity and our collective aspirations for peaceful co-existence and greatness. http://allafrica.com/stories/201002151700.html?page=3 |

cjpanta: To be very frank and unbiased, power has improved, though I wouldn't say that it calls for a celebration, but the fact remains that we have to encourage the people incharge. It is only when someone who is trying is encouraged that he/she would do well. Obviously, we are not yet where we should be, but that doesn't mean we should not appreciate the effort being made. I would disagree with them. They are washing plates abroad and taking the frustration out on Nigeria instead of on the plates they are washing. 1 Like |
